My appointment with the np went very well. I was telling her about us getting Rosie and how I pick her up to take her out and that Fred thinks I should put her on her leash to do that and she said actually I think you should continue that unless you are going somewhere where she needs to be on the leash as picking up Rosie is like lifting 12 pound weights every time you pick her up so adds more exercise along with the walking around the yard with her and getting down to play. Then she asked if I had seen my blood work numbers and I said yes I did and I know my cholesterol and triglycerides are high but I also know why. She said well I’m really not concerned about them as they really are not as bad as you seem to think they are and I definitely think you can bring them down easily by just tweaking your diet somewhat and it sounds like you are upping your exercise with Rosie and will be doing even more when you actually start walking her. She was so happy to hear Rosie’s story and said not only have you saved her but she is saving you by making you more active. She said no change to meds and no additional meds needed. She also put out authorizations for refills and said come back in six months.
Today Debbie and Jim will be coming and we’ve decided to go to 4:30 Mass as that way if they want to sleep in tomorrow they can. They said after Mass we could go right from church to dinner but I said well we have to come home first as we have to feed Rosie and I don’t want to be late on doing that. I thought funny how when planning something these days it all revolves around her but I love it!
She really is in tune with me as if I get up during the night for a bathroom break she stays in her bed but if it’s anywhere between 4:30-5 when I come out of the bathroom there she is waiting for me and heads right to the kitchen door and waits for me to put on my coat to take her out. Then when we come back in she follows me as I get her bed and babies out of the bedroom and put them in the living room. She then checks on her babies and follows me while I get my coffee and then settles down and goes back to sleep. She is such a wonderful addition to our lives that I can’t imagine not having her. One thing that she does a lot is punish her little blue boy baby. We find him all over the house as it seems like he’s a very bad boy so she won’t let him come in her bed unless it’s nighttime and if I bring him back to her she will pick him up and deposit him outside the bed either on the rug or right in front of the front door. Yesterday she was hilarious as after we got back from the doctor’s office and I ate and then sat down she was in the middle of the rug and suddenly charged me in my chair and put her paws on my knee and threw her head back as she was ticked off that I hadn’t done play time yet and she was demanding it! So I got down and boy did she play rough!

Sandy that’s hilarious about little boy blue. Thanks for sharing.
Karen E how frustrating it is when cemeteries do that. It’s especially upsetting on your anniversary. Yes they need to let people know the rules.
Ruth what a wonderful concert and am so glad you both enjoyed it.
Geri I know your exhaustion. It will all be worth it in the end.
Joan I laughed at your post yesterday. Thanks for the chuckle.
I think we’ll go to the flooring store this morning for samples to bring home. This afternoon I’m hoping to do a bit of work in the flower garden.

Good morning 🌞.
Actually chilly again this morning. In the 50s. Nice sweater weather. 🧥.
My Waterpik flosser bit the dust. I've had it for about 4 or 5 years. So now I'm trying to do a little research to determine what's a decent flosser without costing a fortune.
Has everyone finished their taxes? The due date is coming up fast. I did mine back in February and I'm still waiting for the IRS to close it out. Apparently they're having a lot of computer problems this year and if you filed early you're in worse shape than those who are filing later.
It really isn't a big deal as I'm definitely not getting a refund LOL.
Yesterday when I walked onto the gazebo I looked over at the neighboring gazebo and there was a bald eagle sitting on top of it. Of course by the time I grabbed the phone to try to take a picture he flew off. That's the closest I've seen one of them down here.
Hopefully it will warm up a little bit today. Hey it's better than a blizzard 🥶!
Enjoy your day.

Basically checking in. Going to finish binding on this quilt. Am to charge the battery for my pole saw. Rob said the would cut the broken limbs in the pin oak tree that the heavy snow broke. Doing that Sunday when they are here. Will take the two table down that are in the living room and vacuum.
The Hawkeye woman did not play a good game last night but managed to pull it out by the skin of their teeth in the last few minutes. They will play South Carolina and they will certainly need to be on top of their game because I am not sure that South Carolina has been beaten this year. Yah, I get to watch this one as it on ABC Sunday at 2:00. Don’t think Levi is bringing Amelia to hunt Easter eggs so our lunch crowd is getting smaller.
Better get Boo2 fed and bird feeders out. Got some granular stuff to sprinkle on my Hosta’s and phlox to keep deer and rabbits from eating them to the ground. Should get that applied today and a walk outside. Have a great day. Taking my letter to Township clerk to the mailbox. See if I get any clear rules for cemetery back in response.
Ok been outside and not sure how much walking I will do out there that wind is really ripping. Seems like about 100 miles per hour but maybe half that.

I usually file mine the 1st week in March but got busy and didn't file them until after March 15 and got my refund in about 3 days.

Hello Friends!
It is turning out to be a gorgeous day. Temps were 53 degrees when I went to yoga this morning. It has already warmed to 71 and will be 77 later this afternoon with no humidity. We have to enjoy this nice spring weather while we have it. Next week it will be high 80s and humid. Time to get the summer sundresses out. Mike had the lanai power washed Thursday. Today he put everything back in place so I plan to head outside soon to read.
Geri, Love your pile of donations. I can't believe you had over 4 piles. There's nothing like moving to get that ball rolling. You are doing a wonderful job!
Have wonderful day everyone!

Greetings:
It's Saturday! Remember how we used to love Saturdays? I did anyway. What's so interesting to me is that we still live with a Saturday mindset. Although we don't go and do things on Saturday unless they are grandkid things, we do enjoy two days "off". Kind of funny. but we don't go to stores on Saturday or Sunday. I remember years ago when I'd I'd do shopping and at the stores were all the "old" people who could easily have gone during the week! They just never did and that made the stores more congested than they needed to be. i brought it up once with someone I knew and she said that she missed the hustle and bustle of shopping and traffic and just being around people. when I shared my point of view at how it made more in the stores than necessary she just didn't care at all!
Anyway, not sure how I got on that tangent.
Today is the tea party for an organization I belong to. I signed up to take tea sandwiches. So I made two kinds, smoked salmon and cream dheese with minced cucumbers and a minced ham and minced gruyere cheese. Both are quite good. I wasn't sure how they'd come out. I sort of tweaked and twisted a recipe and then made up my own ham one.
But the reason i got on was to put the QOTD since I've been out of it for awhile.
QOTD from "the box": Answer as your spirit moves you.
1. Would you rather visit a big city or the countryside?
2. What fashion trend you followed was very cool then but now looks ridiculous?
Bonus question.
3. If you're a sandwich person, and not everyone ise, what is your favorite kind of sandwich? Does it have any meaning for you?
AOTD:
1. I'm definitely a visit a big city person. I love big cities.
2. I didn't much follow trends when I was growing up since there wasn't extra money for that kind of thing. I guess the closest to a trend I got was wearing black with a splash of color. I had black sweaters and jackets, pants and skirts and jumpers. The blouses were always a color.
3. I love Reuben sandwiches, but they are so dense I hardly ever have one. And if I do, it's just usually half. I really like the ham and gruyere cheese, both minced, that I created for this luncheon. Bill does too. We might see this again!
Good day all.
Great games last evening! Controversial as well. Men's games late this afternoon and evening.

1. Would you rather visit a big city or the countryside? Countryside as I hate heavy traffic, traffic jams and crowded sidewalks. I no longer go to the Iowa State Fair because of all the people wondering around, standing in groups that you have to go around to get where you want to go. Parking
2. What fashion trend you followed was very cool then but now looks ridiculous? Mini skirts although I didn’t follow that. Hip huggers bell bottoms, may have done a bit of those. Back combed hair do’s, I wore those and did those in Beauty Shop but like the more natural flow of today. Although I don’t feel every older woman looks the best in the real long flowing hairdos.
Bonus question.
3. If you're a sandwich person, and not everyone ise, what is your favorite kind of sandwich? Does it have any meaning for you? I would probably say the breaded tenderloin sandwich which I know is not available in all parts of the country. I don’t indulge in those often because they are deep fried and calorie loaded. The Reuben sandwich I have had were delicious but huge and should be split into a few meals instead of one. More on a regular basis I have a sandwich with my Sara Lee 45 calorie multi grain bread, turkey, one slice Fat free cheese, slice of tomato and a lettuce leaf.

It's a sunny 52 degrees today and Jerry is out mowing the lawn for the first time this year. My sister and a mutual friend are coming down for the eclipse on Monday so now the grass will have a fresh haircut. They're leaving extra early and staying off the interstate so I hope they make decent time and get here by noon but we'll eat lunch whenever they get here.
Karen E, it does sound like the cemetery rules have changed. It sure would have been nice to have been notified. Happy Anniversary to you and Steven.
Geri, a lot of people will be blessed by all the clothes you've donated. Our church has a ministry called the Clothes Closet that collects donations of clothes and has them available for anyone who needs them. Not only do they serve the general public, but also the local women and children's shelter and the work release program here in our county. We are all blessed so we can be a blessing to others.

AOTD: 1. Probably the countryside depending on what there is to see and do. I do like seeing the sites in big cities but I don't like driving in them. 2. When I was in high school, platform shoes, bell bottoms, and tie-dyed anything was all the rage. 3. I'm a true Hoosier, so my favorite sandwich is a Breaded Pork Tenderloin. My second favorite is a Bacon, Lettuce and Fried Green Tomato sandwich.

Fred is out cutting the grass as supposed to rain tomorrow so wanted to get it done before then. He opened the door to the porch so Rosie was in heaven sitting in her chair. Guess some animal ran in front of the porch as all of a sudden she started barking but I saw nothing. Of course her barking is what nobody who has a barker would classify as barking as after four barks she was done.
Plans sure can change in an instant. Got a text from Debbie cancelling coming as she is sick. Fever, headache and stomach issues. She felt so bad but I told her better she stay home rather than give us whatever she has as we don’t need that kind of gift! 😂
For the QOTD I do prefer countryside over the city. Lived just outside DC growing up and hated all the traffic. As to fashion trend I never did follow any as no money for that. Just basic clothes - not even jeans - but my younger sister got anything she wanted and to this day is very fashion conscious. My favorite sandwich is a BLT minus the lettuce as if it’s not iceberg I don’t care for it.
Fred said since plans were cancelled he’ll pick up dinner from our local Italian restaurant. So I’m getting their seafood pasta dish with their cheese soup. Not the healthiest but also I don’t have to cook and will have leftovers for tomorrow. Monday for our anniversary we’ll go to Texas Roadhouse. After that no eating out for a while.

Sandy you’re going to have an eclipse anniversary! That’s special.
We brought home flooring samples and I’m more confused now than before. I’ll go back next week.
Geri your pile of clothes will be a blessing somewhere. It will feel good to minimalize your life.
AOTD: 1. Would you rather visit a big city or the countryside? Cities have wonderful things like theater, art galleries and museums though the crowd and traffic are daunting. I’d be happiest visiting state and national parks so countryside for me.
2. What fashion trend you followed was very cool then but now looks ridiculous? Lately I don’t see many women my age in jeans. It’s leggings now or knit pants. I too remember poufed hair and top do’s. And I agree longer hair is not that flattering on many older ladies. Soft curls are the most becoming but perms are out. I’d consider a body perm but daughters, husband and stylist all so no. My hair grows so fast I have to get a trim every four weeks and would cut it all off in short time.
Bonus question.
3. If you're a sandwich person, and not everyone is, what is your favorite kind of sandwich? Does it have any meaning for you? I’m not a sandwich person. I might say a burger or grilled cheese on occasion. More often it’s a wrap. I have a good recipe for chicken, cranberry and pecan wraps though I don’t make it often.
I should take a walk or work in the flower bed but I am out of energy and will nap instead.

Karen, I almost always choose to stay home on weekends and shop through the week when the stores are not as busy.
AOTD: 1. Would you rather visit a big city or the countryside? They both have their appeal but I, too, love big cities (just not the traffic!) 2. What fashion trend you followed was very cool then but now looks ridiculous? Long straight hair down to my waist and big bell bottom pants (think Cher) and high platform shoes.
Bonus question.
3. If you're a sandwich person, and not everyone is, what is your favorite kind of sandwich? Does it have any meaning for you? I’m not a sandwich person. I am much like Sharon. Occasionally a burger or grilled cheese tastes good. I enjoy wraps on occasion but prefer to make my own as they are too "carby" when you eat them already prepared. I like a low carb high protein wrap spread with hummus with some black olives and salad greens. To me that is very satisfying.
