Happy Day All!
Peggy - did you get the decorations down and put away? Is it cold down there this morning? It was 70 here yesterday at this time and now is 40!
Emily - glad DS#2 is doing okay. Hope you did have your relaxing day yesterday.
BettyR - it's so very good to hear from you! Sorry it was was sad news of a funeral, but glad you were blessed with good weather for the trip and got to reminisce with long time family and friends.
BettyJ - needless to say I'm so excited about your new puppy! You're going to be so busy! Can't wait to see a picture! You also got me wound up about chicken and dumplings! My DMIL taught me to make dumplings - all rolled out flat. I do like that kind best, but have completely forgotten what she taught me. It was at least 48 years ago!
Oh Linda - so sorry to hear your head is plugged again. Hope it was well enough for you to enjoy your company.
Geri - today's your day to stay home with Brenna - enjoy.
Pat - how can you say it's too early for waffles?! I guess it's not too bad if they saved you some! Glad you got to go back to sleep and catch up.
Connie - I agree - it's good to have time with grands without their parents or others around. I hardly got to talk to DGD at Thanksgiving because her parents were so excited to see her and her boy. DGD and family are moving a little closer to the cabin in May so hopefully we'll get to have them by themselves.
Dayle - glad you had a good day, with savings on your cable bill thrown in! Although i don't know how you can sit, snuggle and listen to an audio book and not fall asleep! When I was traveling for work I tried listening to them on the plane and always conked out! I do like to listen when driving, though. One of my goals is to work on lowering my cable and internet bills, as well as my cellphone bill. Threatening to change carriers always seems to work - although I may actually do that with my cable. At least here I have a choice - no choice in GA.
Sounds like everyone is recovering from the holidays - I think I said that yesterday! I know I had a quiet day yesterday - worked on gathering some tax stuff and checking on my 401K - playing with calculator for a potential monthly income. I have a good retirement from the government and won't need to tap into it as long as DH is alive. I also need to check on my beneficiaries for my insurance and 401K. No, I don't plan on kicking the bucket any time soon, but don't want to let it slide. DH and I are also going to update our wills while we're here this winter. I also need to update my croak book folder! Sheesh - what morbid thoughts this cool sunny morning!
Today I'm going to Sam's. DH wants to smoke some ribs on New Year's Day and they have the best. Will also stop by Publix (yippee!) as they're close together. Will also get a walk in with Charlie. We're not walking far - I'm too out of shape, but at least we're going. We do about 20 minutes at a pretty brisk pace.
Well, need to get moving along. Enjoy your day everyone - there're only a couple more left this year! Let's all send 2016 out on a positive note.
