Hope you have all had a good day. Gloomy and damp here. Raining now. Shragae FL...April Showers Sandy IL...Wanting Spring Warmth Lin AZ...Spring Allergy Lucy TX..Enjoying the Warm Sunshine Nancy IL..Watching Flowers Grow Connie PA...Pulling Winter Weeds Kathie CA...The Spring Gardener Betty MN..Flowers in Bloom
Did you get to watch the eclipse? Very cloudy here and we were on the very edge of being able to get anything. Did get slightly dark but the clouds prevented us from seeing much.
Coffee, exercises, a little house stuff, some computer and phone stuff, pie and coffee this afternoon and that was about my day. Tomorrow I really have to swiffer my floors and need to vacuum but not sure if I can handle that yet. Have little dog prints in front of the patio door again.
Hope you had fun with the scrambled words. Like I said they were probably pretty easy. Have to look for harder things because you guys are just too good.
Happy Anniversary, Sandy and Fred. I haven't been to Texas Roadhouse for a long time. Dave really liked it because he loved a good steak but I don't eat steak and never found anything there that I liked except the buns. i could make a meal out of just them.
Lin, still haven't looked for the Penetrex but that's on my list for tomorrow. Have some other things I want to order from Amazon.
Lucy, Are your docs suggesting surgery or are you just seeing them for a consultation?
No game tonight. I'll post the answers for the scrambled words when I'm done with this. bettyj

We did enjoy our meal. I decided to try their country fried chicken and loved it! BUT it was huge and covered the whole plate so had plenty to bring home. Got mashed potatoes and salad with it. Had french dressing as haven’t had that in a long time and it was very good as well. We got rattlesnake bites and brought some of them home as well. Fred encouraged me to get their strawberry cheesecake to bring home and that was a big disappointment as it was just a plain cheesecake with a little cup of strawberry sauce but no actual strawberries or whipped cream like it shows in their picture. But even though that was a disappointment the rest of the meal was delicious and I would definitely get it again. I often wonder how they get their salads so cold as I’m sure that adds to the taste of them. The only thing I ever get through is the salad and always need a take home box so ask right at the beginning of my meal for them to bring one.
Fred is getting an oil change on the Volvo this morning and that’s the only plan.

Good morning. Another cloudy morning. 40 degrees now high 59 today. Might be able to get out in the garage and break down some boxes for recycling. Sandy, forgot to ask what anniversary is this? Ours would have been 60 this year. We usually just went out for dinner to celebrate. Dave always picked a steak house or Red Lobster. Didn't care for the steak house but I did like the shrimp at Red Lobster.
Up early this morning. Will be tired later on. Might go to Pet Smart sometime today. I always add a topper to Ozzies kibble usually some chicken but if I don't have that I've been trying to find something that he will eat. Picky little guy. Finally found some little packages of shredded chicken at a quite reasonable price and he really gobbles that up so may go get some more for the times I don't have chicken. Going to look on Amazon first to see if they have it.
Have a great day. bettyj

Betty, I haven't made the decision on what to do. Thinking things out. I'm sensitive to almost everything so I'm leaning toward just pain medicine. We did an exercise in class that stretches the back so I decided to do it at home about 3 times a day. The chiropractor always stretches my back and it helps for awhile.
I'm very concerned about Diane.
We had heavy rain and wind last night. Ruined my pretty Irises. Sposed to be back this afternoon. We didn't get hail last night so maybe none this afternoon.
Have a great day all.

I was gone all weekend and Monday as I went to DDs house and we had an eclipse Picnic yesterday. Beautiful day and warm enough to be outside all day. the kids from W.Va were here for the weekend also and had lot of fun time with them. DGD is a beautiful pregnant lady!! Feeling great and only 6 weeks to go. We were in direct path for Eclipse and our area was full of out of town visitors. all State Parks open to campers and all camping sites filled up by Thursday night. We sat outside with our glasses and watched the whole time. You are not to stare all the time at the sun etc just few minutes at a time and we followed the rules. Even Elias who is almost 5 years old. He was pretty awesome about it. When it become dark, the temps dropped about 9 degrees. All the street lights came on and the lights around the house and pool did as well. One my one they lit up. Looked like 10pm at night for few minutes. the birds stopped chirping and we heard the peepers starting up . Honest that is really true.!! So fun!! When the sun was peeping out after a few minutes some fireworks starting up in neighbor hood, and car horns etc.
I left for home about 5:30 last night and when I got to the main road where I have to turn left to get on main highway, the cars streaming out of our small town were bumper to bumper, finally one of the cars started to slow down a bit and I was able to turn left. Only car on that side of road then but all the way to where I turn right it was crazy, one car after another the whole 10 miles. never ever saw that here before. So soon as I got home I called DGD and told her so they could hold up a bit for that traffic Leaving. We have 2 routes going same way to two different interstate/ and heard it was same way for several hours. they left about 8pm and said it was not as bad then but still lot of traffic. Eased up a bit just before Pittsburgh for them and rest of way was fine. They were glad they came as their neighbors said didn't have the total
I am so glad to see this one, my one and only full eclipse. Thought you might enjoy hearing about my exciting day.

I guess I'm going to have another day with Jim in bed all day. It is 11AM and he is still asleep. Shana had her morning walk with Vanessa and now joined him in bed. Looks like it is going to be a beautiful sunny day here. It is 76 degrees here already so will probably be around 80 this afternoon.
See you all later for tuck in.

Whew, I went out to pull some new weeds we have all over the place!! They are a clump of really green sprigs and they have little tiny white flowers at the top and no not pretty. they are pulling out easy and ground is soaked so roots and all come out easy. Hooray. they do have little white flowers on them so Probably just just continue to pollinate. More and more every year. And no I don't do chemicals on my yard. will just continue to pull weeds. I am only pulling along the white stone path , and areas like that. My yard guy who mows for me will continue to mow them down in the areas he can. Tractor, push mower and weed eater so easier for him than me. But too wet to mow just now.
It is 76° so I did remove a layer of clothing. filled the bird feeders and counted 14 little yellow finch at the feeder. so they are back and also have the bright yellow color now. Look like little canaries.
The birds are chirping all over the place on all sides of the house. boy it is hard to look over at that deserted house next door. Spent so much time just checking on her and visiting with her almost every day. I guess it will get easier but I am always going to miss her. Especially now with nice weather coming. Not sure at all what they are going to do with it. the whole family has their own houses. and nice ones.
I have some Italian Wedding soup in can so going to try it for dinner. My DD makes the best but this will do. Smaller can than what you usually get so hoping it tastes as good. My friend and I are going to lunch tomorrow. think to the Mexican place just over the Ohio border., she says it is really good so hope we can find it again.!!! I have never been there so won't be a bit of help. And she won't do her GPS. But I am okay with that, usually in these small towns and secondary roads they are telling you to turn right when there is no place to turn!!! LOL In WVa My son in law was told to turn right off the top of the mountain about 4 times and turning us around to go back and still turn off mountain. No Road and straight down. we gave up and called my DGD for help. It was her new housing area and we were wayyyy off.

Connie, those are weird directions!
Sandy, happy anniversary! 🥂🥂🥂🥂💐💐💐
Well, dryer and vent are cleaned out for another year. The vent goes up to roof through the attic. The irrigation guy worked hard trying to figure out which way the put the pipe connection in to where it broke under a tree I did not plant. It evidently ..after lots of moving river Rock and digging and dealing with old roots from trees not there anymore …was on a right angle six feet away where ankther bubb,er was on a tee. He got it cut off, capped, tested and got everything back into the holes. he was subbing for the guy who got a complication on the job before us and still had his own stuff to do. Big tip. evidently it would have flooded the whole area every Saturday if not for being under the tree. I never noticed because I am not on the side of the house before 7 AM usually. I guess I should get up Saturday and check all the bubblers. Boy have we wasted and paid for a lot of water! Hope roots are not rotting.
so now I am down to making chili and cornbread for tonight.half will go to freezer.
Then hour and a half at xray and MRI plus drive time.
Up early tomorrow for the big living room dining room carpet clean This is getting old. But it will all be done before surgery.

Connie: The orioles use the hummingbird feeders here. I have two of them that have a place for them to sit so they love them. They can't keep flapping wings while they eat. They do make special feeders for orioles but the ones I have on the window have a place for their feet....so they work fine. They drink the sugar water.
Jim did sleep all day. He did get up for breakfast (really brunch) but right back to bed and he just had dinner in bed and then still hungry so I made him lunch too. I'm waiting for 9PM to start my washer for the third load today. It is 3 times the cost between 4PM and 9PM.
Tucking you in now in our newest blanket. It looks like a nice bright sunny Spring day and our doggies are all playing together. We are sitting around them watching them play. I guess when the adults all love each other the doggies do too.....Sweet dreams!
