Good morning.
47, fair skies, but expecting a bit of rain this afternoon, high of 60.
Robin, I know if I had a person coming in to clean, I would need to straighten up before they came. But even when we had the house and it was the both of us living in it, it was small enough that I could clean it on Saturday's, when I worked full time. I would have loved a cleaning person back in the day when the girls were small, we had a bigger house with a 2nd floor, while working full time.
The sub monitor and I got to talking about golf yesterday, as she is one but with her being alone now, she does not do it anymore. That is something I would like to try, even though DH had talked me out of trying it, back in the summer of 16. I would not mind going myself to do 9 holes. (If I knew what I was doing!).
Marsha, Langlade is such a nice school; DD1 went there for 1st grade, when we lived in a duplex by the prison, till we bought the house behind West high. One of DD2 best friends from grade school has 2 DD's going there, and they love it there. I am not surprised to hear they went outside for the eclipse, as Shannon (the friend) is always posting things going on there. If they had a smaller student population, it would be easier to control the kids as to keeping the glasses on, etc.
You sure have WAY more patience with your DH that I would have. Especially with you working full time.
Beware that when you turn 65, they put you on Medicare, which at the time, I did not know; I was still on DH company insurance plan.
I feel so much more with whatever is going on with my body than a couple years ago. I was dreading turning 70, and I still do.
Gareth, I like having the patient portal from our doctor's office, but yes, sometimes too much info is not a good thing. Just imagine if you did not see that, about the cyst, the nurse would have either just brushed over it, or not mentioned it at all.
I picked up the cough/congestion meds at the store yesterday, with some cough syrup, so I can take that if I feel I need it, so I am able to control it so far, thanks for asking. I cannot get sick, there is just no time for it, lol! The doctor told DD that DGD would probably get worse before better, so I expect her to be out of school all week. Somewhat bad timing, as there is testing going on for the 8th graders that she is missing. But more and more kids have been going home this week, sick.
DH going with me to my favorite huge store was something that was hard for me to get used to, especially since he wanted to push the cart, and I could be 2 aisles ahead him, as he browsed, and I had arms full of stuff, and had to go look for him. That is truly something I do not miss.
I have been loving this weather!!
Carol, glad everything went well for your DDIL, and they are back home. Hopefully they sent her home with good pain meds. When is her school district done with school for the season? Maybe she could just be done now for the rest of the school year. I know a lot of schools around the country are done so much earlier than ours.
Lol, you had me confused, by the statement about cleaning. Believe me, it does not take much to confuse me!!
Yay on your mammogram being fine.
I too need to look into 11.22.63. I did read a light book while out of power last week and would like to keep that going.
Anngie, I think you are right about taking the glasses off during a total eclipse, which we could not do here, as it was not total.
I am feeling a bit better, thank you.
It is great having the medical portal, as I can schedule appointments through that, all kinds of things, but there is that too much info factor too.
You are right about not riding in a vehicle that is being towed. Also, when we had the motor home, we could have passengers in there, but they had to be buckled in. I would sneak away from the seat belt sometimes, to get DH a bottle of water or a sandwich but would get belted in right away.
I feel aches and pains more so now that I am 70, but maybe it is all in my head!!
Pinky, congratulations to your DGS on his 2nd place in the shot-put competition! And 8th in what sounds like a crowded field of runners!!!
DH and I had so much fun rooting on DGS when he was in middle school and did track.
I think I am too ornery to get any sicker, lol!! Remember when I had Covid, I was laid up, literally for just 1 day. Thanks for your good wishes.
I do the same thing, with my age and the future, and I have to stop doing that, as it is so depressing, lol!!!
I never did hear anything from the apartment office, so I guess I will be pestering them today. I have been bringing boxes home from school to start boxing up things to run over to the resale store. I can do that right after work, as the store is kind of in that area, so it will work out well.
