Starting a little early tonight.
Shragae FL..April Showers Sandy IL... Wanting Spring Warmth Lin AZ...Spring Allergy Lucy TX...Enjoying the Warm Sunshine Nancy IL...Watching Flowers Grow Connie PA...Pulling Winter Weeds Kathie CA...The Spring Gardener Betty MN...Flowers in Bloom
Connie...The next time you make that pie please send me a piece. I love strawberry pie of any kind. I am not good at riddles either. Glad I have the answers.
Kathie...You are so strong..Continuing to take care of a person with dementia has to be very difficult. I rarely hear you say a bad word about Jim and all the things you have to do. Please feel free to vent here. We can't be with you in person but we can be with you in spirit. We can to to you and not judge you.
Sandy...One of my favorite desserts is angel food cake with strawberries and whipped cream. Not so many places to pick your own berries around here anymore.
Lin, that picture of the woman fits me exactly.
I am hoping to get to bed early tonight. After not sleeping very well last night and having to drive a ways for Ozzies grooming appt it was just a long day. Did get my grocery order done and that will be delivered tomorrow morning. Won't be going for coffee in the morning but my friends are coming here. Was going to get some donuts for a treat but guess none of us really need that. I can go to the bakery early tomorrow if I decide to. Got all the ingredients for the baked spaghetti so we'll have that for dinner someday next week.
I'll post the riddle answers when I get done here. If you answered them please post how many you got right.

Betty, I got the candle and the map ones. that's it!! Did have fun trying to get them.
Guess it is my turn for middle of the night wide awake. We are having sheets of rain coming down for hour now. My phone was beeping with flood alerts and got tired of hearing it so silenced it for now. I don't get flooding as am on higher elevation and not near the river but in town there always is areas.
I wish I could send all this rain to anyone that needs it. WE are all so sick of it. Need sunshine badly and for more than one day.
Going to hunt up an easy game to play on the computer. Tired of rolling and tossing and listening to rain. Even the radio station I listen to is breaking in for flood warnings.

I got the candle and boat. But it was fun and really made me think.
Fred decided not to golf today as going to be very windy so would not be much fun. It’s raining out at the moment so Rosie didn’t take much time in pottying.
Last night Rosie was so funny. Ever since we’ve had her there has been a bag of salt on the enclosed porch for melting ice on the steps. Well after almost 7 weeks of her being here she suddenly discovered it. We heard all this growling and barking and when we looked she was attacking the bag of salt! She would get kind of close and then back off and then charge at it and it was pretty shocking but funny to hear her growling and barking. After a while I guess she figured it was not going to kill us so she ignored it.
When the plumber came he said his whole family has always owned shih tzus and he thinks they are absolutely adorable. She followed him everywhere trying to figure out why he was here but was friendly towards him but not overly friendly as he could not pet her. He gave us bad news in that our water line has to be replaced as it’s very corroded so he could only give a temporary fix to bring up water pressure. I was not happy after he left as he did something that activated the water temperature gage so our water won’t get above lukewarm. Not good for a shower. When we had our bathroom remodeled that guy also activated it but Fred had him come back to make it normal. He said it’s a child protective thing to keep children from turning on the faucet and scalding themselves. That’s great but we don’t have any young children and I think before activating it we should have been asked.
Not sure what we’ll do today as the rain is supposed to end around 8. I wish Fred would contact a landscaper like he said he would to get the backyard rolled as there’s just too many dips that make it very uneven for Rosie and me. Not sure what caused it as never had that problem before so that’s why we need a landscaper to let us know if we have a critter in the ground. He thinks it might be the cicadas since they live underground and are due to come out soon. But until he has someone check it is just a guessing game and I want the problem fixed so we can enjoy the yard without worrying about it.

Sandy, Isn't it funny how ferocious a small dog can get with just a bag of salt!! Good thing she didn't get it torn up. My DD had one that did that to a leather boot and DD was not a happy camper. Scratches and bite marks all over the boot. Un fixable!!
no water in basement and didn't think there would be but you never know in this area. Most have sump pumps etc. Wasn't one here when I moved here but also no signs of water seepage. thank goodness. Big fix . can't wait to see what the amount of inches we actually got in this last storm.
no plans for today. did get the YelloH order early today and my driver says that Thursday will be the new day for our deliveries here. Guess we don't get a choice. but will wait and see when I get the email. Guess one day no difference to another. But that is usually day we go to lunch. Did tell my neighbors there will be a change for us. Sure it won't matter to them but I don't have room in my freezer in the fridge for more than my own order if they are not home. They have big freezer in basement but doesn't help me at all as I get their order for them. May have to stop. they have a lot of Dr appointments. Will have to think on it for now. maybe a freezer pack for the freezer bag I do have from Schwan's. it is reusable.
It is only 47° out there today and the wind is fierce. Blowing away the rain? boy that would be nice if it is.

Heavy rainfall in parts of Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia prompted warnings of overflowing rivers and creeks on Friday, as authorities dealt with the aftermath of a storm that had forced road closures and rescues of people stranded in flooded streets.
During the 18-hour period that started around 5:30 p.m. Thursday, a 60-mile-wide band of rain swept from the easternmost tip of Kentucky across the Pittsburgh area and over Dunkirk, N.Y., on the Lake Erie shore, letting loose from 1.25 to more than four inches of rain, said Lee Hendricks, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh.
Washington and Allegheny Counties in Western Pennsylvania got most of it, he said.
Jonathan DeBor, the council president in Oakdale Borough, in Allegheny County, said the flooding there “was the worst since the flood during Ivan in 2004, which was the worst in the history of the town.” He was referring to the impact from Hurricane Ivan, which dumped up to seven inches of rain in the central areas of the state.
The National Weather Service said that after the heavy rainfall across Western Pennsylvania, the Clarion River was expected to rise above its 13-foot flood stage on Friday afternoon, cresting at 13.5 feet in the evening, at Cooksburg, an unincorporated community on its northern banks.

Betty: I still love Jim and know for sure the probs he has are caused by the dementia. Dementia sucks but when I met Jim for the first time God told me he was the one and I know now why. I was an embalmer and can clean ANYTHING without getting sick. My police sergeant DDIL would be in the bathroom throwing up and she would have put him in a nursing home by now. I will NOT do that. We sold the beach house and have a huge CD now that will pay for whatever we need to take care of us. And, we live on the ranch for no rent since I gave it to my DS and DDIL. And, we collect rent from my DGS which is less rent than anywhere else they could get a two bedroom apartment. They love it here too. I just made Jim a steak (fillet mignon) for dinner and he ate it and now going back to sleep again.
Tucking you in now in our newest blanket. It looks like a nice bright sunny Spring day and our doggies are all playing together. We are sitting around them watching them play. I guess when the adults all love each other the doggies do too.....Sweet dreams!
The Spring Gardener Kathie
