Welcome to the Clutter Patrol, formerly CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning all. Stan just left for Pedal class and I have some housework I want to get done, but thought I’d get on here first. Need to do some work in the kitchen and then move Mara’s laundry from the couch so I can clean around there.
We are meeting DS/Mara for dinner tonight and then Mara is coming home with us for a couple nights. DS has a friend in town who he’s known since college and they love to play board games, so they will do that tomorrow. Then Sunday they will do it while Mara keeps them company.
Still no word from the insurance company on the acupuncture payments. I talked to insurance again yesterday and the gal I talked to was going to check with the other gal who was looking in to it and have her call me, but so far nothing. So frustrating. Stan says he’s not getting anymore until this is paid. Ugh!
We are to be upper 50’s today, close to 60; then tomorrow close to 80 and low 70’s on Sunday. Looking forward to some deck time and just soaking up sunshine.
Talked to my friend in ND who we went to visit in Myrtle Beach. Sometime in the last couple months, they had a BAD water leak in their home in ND. A faucet went bad and water ran unchecked into their finished basement. And it sat for most of a month until someone doing a check on the house found it. Karen had to get everything set up from MB for cleanup and repair. They got home this week and she said she was glad in some ways not to be there when it happened. Wallboard has to be replaced so far up the walls; all new flooring; they had to do mold remediation because of the water sitting so long; and a lot of things will need to be replaced. She doesn’t even know what all was ruined (besides the big tv that was down there) because the cleanup crew took pictures and then put things either in the dumpster or in a POD (good things). She said she came home to her kitchen counters full of boxed up canned goods from the basement and her dining table full of the stuffed animals & trophy things that her DH has accumulated. If it wasn’t for bad luck for these people, I don’t know how she stays sane! Also, she had to buy a different car yesterday. Hers broke down on the way home and she spent $1200 putting in a new thermostat. Got home and it has a huge oil leak. And she had put $1500 into new brakes on it before they left for MB. It’s a 2017 with lots of miles. So she traded it yesterday rather than fix it. Crazy!
ok, going to get busy cleaning. Will check in later. We have hockey tonight - later as it’s west coast. Have a wonderful day all.

Ruth, that’s terrible that the insurance company is taking so long to reimburse you for the acupuncture treatments. Your friend has sure been thru a lot lately. I’m so happy that we have forced air heat in our new place, we just turn the water off when we leave. One less thing to worry about it. Our old house had hot water heat and we had to keep the water on for that. One of our friends had a pipe burst on their 2nd floor at their house when they were in Florida. What a mess and it ended up costing them quite a bit of money also. Have fun with Mara this weekend.
Waving to Joyce and Martha.
It has rained most of the day, at times it was a very heavy rain, but fortunately no flooding due to the fact that we were on the dry side. More rain and cold for tomorrow. I miss the sunshine. I spent some more time today going thru paperwork and think I have everything from 2023 ready to box up and put away. There is so much paperwork and we get a lot of our things electronically so that is good. I need to get dinner started, have a good night.

Dottie, DF had meant to turn off the water; and she asked a friend to do that and one other thing. But the friend is an older gentleman who has some dementia and did the other thing and forgot about the water. Karen said she needs a check off list for next year to make sure it gets done!! Because they are going to AZ next winter. I’m not sure what kind of heat they have. But I don’t think they needed water for that. My friend said it will cost them $1,000 deductible; but she’ll get all new carpet for that. She won’t know what else she’ll have to replace for months.
And her DS had a PET scan yesterday and she was worried about that. Praying all the cancer is gone from his body and that it never comes back.
Yes, I don’t get it with the insurance. If the codes are accurate, just process it. If it’s covered (and we’re sure it is), just pay it! They won’t pay for maintenance but if Stan stops after 4 and doesn’t get any for a month or more, the back issues come back. We need to figure out how to spread them out so he gets the most benefit from the treatments and how insurance will pay for them. He might have to switch to someone who deals with insurance directly. Who will send the bills directly to insurance and then they wait for payment. They asked if she was “in network”. I said no, because she won’t deal directly with any insurance company. She’ll get the codes that are needed, but won’t file. You have to pay her right after the treatments.

It's fri-yay! I got an hour walk in today. Much needed. Got home & my meds were delivered!! Took the last one yesterday. Getting only a 28-30 day supply and also having supply issues is for the birds! I've had issues the last 3 months. WW mtg/wi - my leader asked me if I wanted to be acknowledged for getting back to lifetime and charm. Scale had me down .2# this week. I don't mind the small losses, it's still going in the correct direction. Finishing up menus & groc list. My new Saturday schedule is groc shop & come home. If going back out, will eat lunch first. I'll be back sometime over wkend. (((Hugs)))
