Welcome to the Clutter Patrol, formerly CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Hi everyone! This is my first post - hope I'm doing it correctly! My office is overwhelming me with all of the clutter! Excited to remove (at least!) 5 "things" today - probably a lot of outdated paperwork. Wishing everyone the best with their clutter busting today!

Welcome Wrenthekitty. Paper clutter is one of my main problems. I do try to file/pitch things as they come in. I set up yearly files and then when it is time to start a new year I take the papers in the file and box them up. They are still handy if I need them but not cluttering my desk/file drawers.
I’m Dottie, live in Connecticut. Today Bill (my DH) and I watched the UCONN parade on TV for the men’s basketball team. They won the NCAA championship 2 years in a row. Since it is cool and damp we didn’t want to go into downtown Hartford to see the parade live. Lots of people were talking about another win next year but that seems unlikely due to the fact that 4 of the 5 starters will probably be drafted by a MBA team, so next years team will mostly be new players.
I’m fortunate to be in Florida for the winter, Bill and I are not cold weather fans. We returned home from Florida on Wednesday and I’m still busy getting things organized here. Plus we have plumbing problems so waiting for a plumber, should be here soon.
Waving to Joyce, Ruth and Martha, I hope everyone is having a good Saturday.

Good afternoon all. Welcome to Wrenthekitty! I’m Ruth and I live in MN (summer & winter). Husband Stan and I have been married for 55+ years. He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s last November. We have 3 adult children (D,S,D) and 6 granddaughters (ranging from 30 to 6). I worked at the high school that our kids went to for 20 years. We moved to this house 24 years ago after lots of looking and finally having it built. Main floor master suite so we can hopefully continue to age in place here. We are 75 & 78 years old. I love to knit, read, and watch MN Wild hockey. And we have timeshares in Hawaii (Maui) where we try to go each winter. Didn’t this year due to the fire that destroyed Lahaina. Tell us a little about you please.
Paper clutter has always been my downfall. When I started my job at the high school, in the athletic office, I ended up with 5 years of filing. All separate piles and I could find most anything the boss needed. He finally hired me a helper whose main job was to file. Worked for me. Now if I could get someone to do it here at home.
We have Mara (6) this weekend. Her DM is running one of the trail running things she does. In Alabama I believe. Daddy is getting a break with an old friend who’s in town spring break. They love to play board games and are doing it w/o company today, tomorrow they will do it with Mara.
I’m doing 1 load of odds and ends laundry for Mara. The rest I have ready to put in her sorter and then she’ll be set for the next couple weeks for school. Will send it with her tomorrow.
I only made it 2 periods of the hockey game last night and it was 5-2 (guess who had the 2?!) - so I gave up and went to bed because I knew Mara would be up early. Just didn’t realize how early. She got me up at 6:40 am and I’m dragging today. I forget that her daddy gets her up at 6:15 am now so he can get her ready and drop her at before school care since he has to start at 7:45 and she doesn’t start until after 8:30. So apparently she sort of slept in some today. Let her stay up a little later last night too, but may put her to bed early tonight. We have another 9:30 game and I hope to watch most of it but we’ll see if I can stay awake.
Not a lot else going on here. Beautiful weather - 72 out. Lots of sunshine. Supposed to be able as good tomorrow. Love it!
Have a great evening all. More tomorrow. Waving to Martha & Joy!

(((Hugs))) Welcome to the group. I'm martha, live in Oregon, married, no 2 or 4 legged children. Slow moving this morning so got to store later than cared for. Wore jean shorts, t-shirt. This is first wkend of not going to library. I think it will help me get other stuff done. My meals for the week are planned. Soup & grilled cheese sandwich, chx carnitas, greek chx & spinach phyllo pie, bl.berry scones and scrambled eggs, greek village salad, roasted sweet potatoes, sausage & broccoli sheet pan dinner and japchae. The last one is a Korean noodle stirfry using glass noodles. Most are from older ww cookbook. I haven't done much with clutter removal recently. Hopefully, instead of watching nascar race (its on a channel we dont get with antenna), I will head to spare room with empty boxes to sort thru way too much $#1t. Dh will have planned overs for his lunches this week - turkey lentil chili. I opened the barber shop for dh. Not quite a summer haircut but 2 inches of curls are gone. Oh, darn! 😊😇 Have a good weekend! (((Hugs)))

Good Sunday morning,
Welcome Wrenthekitty.
I’m Joy/Joyce, live just outside Buffalo, NY. Single all my life, no children, no pets (yet). I’m 70, still working as a cashier at a car dealership. Most of the time it’s a great, fun job, but every once in a while we go through drama.
Waving hi to everyone. Yesterday was a good day at work. Forgot there was a sales event, it went great. I was busy all day between the sales and my paperwork. I was finished with everything by 4, started my closing at 4:30.
Doing laundry today instead of tomorrow. I’m going to the casino with the travel group tomorrow. Haven’t been to this casino in quite a while.
It was a rainy start to the day, but the sun is coming out. I will probably go to the Y in the afternoon for a bit.
Enjoy your day

Joyce, good luck at the casino tomorrow. Sounds like yesterday was a good day at work, I know you always enjoy being busy.
Ruth, how was the weekend with Mara? Did you get all of her clothes ready to bring home with her? 72 and sunshine sound good. It’s in the low 60s here and cloudy.
Martha, did you spend some time in spare room going thru the piles?
Waving to Wren, hope you stop by again soon.
We are picking up the grands late this afternoon. DS and DGS#1 were camping and they needed to get cleaned up and put away their camping gear. They will only stay till Tuesday morning, busy vacation week for them, but it will be nice to see them. I have added a few things to my donation box, in fact it is overflowing and will need to start another one. Other than those things haven’t done much else.

Good afternoon all. Joyce, always good to be busy at work. Did they sell a lot of cars yesterday? Did your dietician talk to you about carb counting and all? You do check your blood #’s daily don’t you? And you said you watch what foods spike your blood sugar? Don’t know if we’ll get into that or not. May depend on what my #’s are on the 18th when I have a blood draw. Going to do a fasting one just in case. The endo didn’t request A1C but I’m pretty sure my primary did.
Dottie, I got Mara sent home with a full clothing sorter. She should be good for the next 2 weeks of school. I still have stuff here but we’ll see what she needs of it as the weather warms up. And she’s really between sizes. And since she’s been on the ADHD meds, she has lost some weight. She really looks thinner to me. I pushed calories with her some this weekend. She wanted a small dish of the chocolate ice cream she picked out at Target before dinner. Told her she could have a small bowl as long as she ate her dinner. She ate the ice cream and 3 helping of the meat sauce and her spaghetti at dinner. She loves the hamburger in the sauce. And she had a little more ice cream as a bedtime snack. She was so excited to go with her daddy today because he had a surprise for her and none of us would tell her what it was. An old friend of DS’s is in town and Mara just loves her. So she was super excited to see TS I’m sure. Have to check with DS later and see.
I need to get downstairs and do more sorting. Do a charity pick up of odds and ends. Get more stuff together for the Indian Reservation; and I have some summer type stuff to get listed asap.
Was up until 12:20 last night after the game. Was texting with a DF who lives in San Jose where we were playing the Sharks. And Mara didn’t come in until 7:45 this morning. I kept waking up thinking it must be close to 6:30 and I saw the clock way too many times during the night. And I think I was dozing when she did come in. But I don’t feel too badly now. We’ll see by tonight.
I have a massage tomorrow afternoon. I’ve come home with a migraine and then tinnitus the past two massages. Think we’ll do a very light scalp massage this time and let it go at that. Hoping for no side affects this week.
Have a great day all. More tomorrow!

Hello everyone & thank you for the warm welcome! I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!
My name is Bonnie, I am 57 years old, married for 28 years this coming May. No children, but we have 3 rescue kitties. I'm originally from New York (Long Island, Albany, Buffalo, NYC) but have lived in New Hampshire for 20+ years.
My husband and I owned our own software consulting company, but he's "retired" from that and is now a Pastor. I run our (very small) Children's Ministry, and help with our church's food pantry.
I joined WW just over a month ago. My biggest food challenge is that I am a stress-eater.
I was diagnosed pre-diabetic in February. I already have low-vision, so I figured I need to get serious about my eating & exercise, especially for the sake of my eyes.
Thank you again for being so welcoming! Waving back to you all!
