Keep.It.Simple.SUNDAY.
I think we all need, and deserve a SIMPLE Sunday!! Simple for some may be a day of usual errands, but not adding anything "extra" to the day to make it more complicated. Maybe it means going out to dinner, so you don't have to plan and cook a meal! Maybe it's using leftovers for meals, so you don't have to go "out"? I know, with being retired, I have a LOT of "simple" days, but today can be a SIMPLE but PRODUCTIVE day too. IF the rains hold off we may get some furniture set up on the patio. Then when I get my new powerwasher, it will all be out and ready to clean! Then, no matter the weather, I will plan a family dinner for Saturday! We will celebrate Tim & Jaclyn's 19th! Anniversary Saturday evening. I can't believe it's 19 years already! WOW!

Morning Carole and all to come…
A Simple Sunday it will be…Jim is leaving now to go get mom…when she gets back we will FaceTime with Auntie June, then eat dinner, then FT with Hannah! Nothing exciting today….
I have an alarm set on my phone to make sure I log in to check in for our flights tomorrow….will have a quiet evening tonight again after Jim takes mom back and in the morning will will stop in on the way to the airport for one more quick visit!! We will pass mom’s place on the way so it’s a quick off and back on. Our flight doesn’t leave until 1:05 so we will leave here place at 11:00 and be there in plenty of time. Fingers crossed the flight is not delayed at all because our layover in Atlanta is only an hour and it’s a big airport!
Carole…I know what you mean about time flying and seems hard for Tim and Jaclyn to be married 19 years already….Hannah and Shea will be married 16 next month….crazy!!
Time to actually finish my coffee and get dressed….
Hope all have a great SIMPLE day!!

Gosh - I could have sworn I posted yesterday afternoon!
Gabrielle: Sorry you lost a post... I was typing the other day and my laptop just shut down... black screen... I was lucky when I turned it back on, it asked if I wanted to retore pages so I gave it a shot, and sure enough there my post was! SO ANNOYING though. The computer is not that old, so it should not be acting so dumb! Anyway... Hope your not to long run went well, for you and DH. YAY for a mani pedi after a cold rainy/snowy? run! We are in beautiful sunshine now, but the rains are due back by 11 AM and continue through tomorrow. After these April Showers we better have some SPLENDID May flowers!
Yes, the girls do seem to get along better lately - unless they are getting hangry! I can always tell when they need a snack! I have also learned that if I have cucumbers & strawberries on hand they WILL eat them! Well Zoë eats strawberries, Eden eats both. Ahhh, yes, I would have gone with one more day as well, if it meant benefits! In my case that would have created more issues, with paying for insurance one time in the new year! I think. UGH Yes, it is very difficult to call SS to figure things out. Hopefully they get THAT sorted out. It was pretty cold here yesterday and windy... but we braved to elements (no rain) and walked to the playground. I only gave them 30 minutes down there as it was SO Cold! But I got about 1/2 mile walk in and got to my 5k steps last night!
Christine: Slept IN until 6? OYE VEY GF! Oh no, poor Colby Girl and poor YOU! So much to deal with and then she needed attention/$$ too. Thank goodness she's good now, but yeah the cone for awhile will be difficult. LOL My Gosh does it ever stop?? New tires ain't cheap - even on sale! I guess on the upside, you had a day home, to yourself (and Colby Girl) to just regroup. ♥
I can say, the Riverwalk in San Antonio, isn't as "beautiful" as they promote it as being! LOL I mean we went, and it was fun, and neat to see, but some areas were kind of "sketchy"?
Oh yeah - planting here is never until Memorial Day. That was always our weekend to open the pool too. But the past few years we have opened it earlier so it can warm up by Memorial Day. No clue when we will attempt that this year - but I know for sure it's not on our radar yet! LOL Hair appointment was good - I was 2 weeks later than usual, so it felt GREAT to get some length cut off and thin it out some! Had to adjust my CPAP last night, after losing SO MUCH HAIR! Yes... that damned table gets me every time!! Oh your countertops sound like what we want. Yeah, once we move the island a bit, we could probably do without backing up the fridge. But, behind it is just the back room... mostly used for laundry and storage! Oh and the elliptical, but it's a full room! So if we push back into it, it won't really mess with much out there! So the other guy will come this Tuesday... if he remembers? Oh and the other counter place FINALLY got back to me, so we'll get a 3rd price on counter tops.
Jo: Awww, sorry you didn't get the walking tour. When we were in AZ it was just the opposite... since we hadn't booked earlier, there were no tickets available for the train ride we wanted. Sooo... how did Emilie do being home alone??
Sue: Glad you had a good visit with DM. Nice that you all could help with her weekly chores, and take her out to lunch. I bet she loves having you there. Oh and FT'g with family will be a joy for her too. Glad she finally gets it, that this is the best place for her. Has DS Kris ever been to visit her? Yes, just enjoy your time with your family ♥
OK Time to get moving here. DH is going for a walk, but I said I'd pass today. I will get my steps today, getting the patio set up, and or emptying/moving/organizing his dresser. I swear he has clothes in there he hasn't work in 15 years! UGH! We are moving it to the spare room. Since it's where he sleeps, it makes sense he have his clothes in there as well. I know an extra walk would not hurt me, but I'm just enjoying my SIMPLE Sunday this morning.
Hoping Jenny's part yesterday was a success... I'm sure it was, and hope her hand is healing quickly.
I might be back later, hope you all can enjoy a SIMPLE Sunday ♥hugs♥

Sue: Oh just having DM at the hose instead of her place will be enjoyable for everyone. Do they bring her home often? Oh yeah, only an hour in Atlanta can be stressful. Enjoy the day ♥

Good Morning everyone
Oh my, I'm exhausted from all the work we did but the party went well. I got to visit with my Aunts and Uncle's and had a great time. The brisket turned out really well but the temp probes that I used that came with the smoker are a bit off, but now I know for the next time. The boy's came over and had a blast in the back yard. It rained a little but not to bad. I think everyone had a good time. I know my dad did. Today I'm just going to rest and recoup because I go back to work tomorrow.
Carole yes I plan to keep it simple today. I see your having a family dinner next weekend to celebrate Tim and Jacklyn's marriage of 19 years that's a long time. I hope you had a good time with the girls yesterday. My burn is doing well but it still hasn't popped yet. I'm sure I will loose the skin soon.
Sue glad your having a great visit with your family. How's the weather down there? I think I saw it was going to be nice. It's nice you can FT with Hannah and the rest of the family.
Christine poor Colby that's got to hurt. Oh man, Gary bought tires??? Ok. Sorry about the timing on that one. Glad you had a day to yourself yesterday that had to be nice. I'm having one myself today. Sounds like the wedding planning is coming along good, your going to need that vacation to Amilia Island after the big wedding to rest and unwind. I hope your week goes well.
Jo I'm so glad you had a good time on your mini vacation. The pictures were really pretty, is that the smokey mt's?
Ok need to go for now have a simple Sunday

Jenny - so glad the party was a hit! What a nice picture of your DD and his siblings! Yes, keep an eye on that burn - Sue - good luck tomorrow with traveling back - that was certainly a quick trip to go so far! Hoping it all went well! Carole - What a nice day you made despite the weather and cold and wind - glad the girls were getting along for the most part and very glad you had the time for a hair cut! Next weekend should be sweet - hey, 19 years for young couples is something to be proud of! April keeps getting better...NOT!! I was doing laundry all morning and minding my own when around 10:30 AM I noticed water on the basement floor! Checked the sump pump: dead. OMG with all the heavy rains we have been having here and flood watches, I was so crazy nuts about water seeping into the basement now! BAD TIMING! Within the hour we had standing water in one section! Lindsey was so good helping me quickly move any decorations or pillows or things not in plastic bins - lost maybe one trash bag of 'stuff' otherwise I think we saved it. Had to call a 24 hour plumber to put in a new sump pump NOW - no way could we wait 24 hours with how quickly the water was coming in...it was seeping up through the seams of the cement foundation floor - not the walls, the FLOOR due to the amounts of rain in the ground and little chance for it to dry up outside. UGH UGH UGH What a crises. Could have been much worse but the $$$ for the plumber and new sump pump as crazy as it was HAD to be! I will still need to call our insurance gal tomorrow because there are still puddles in some areas of basement. Plus, the new sump pump pushed all 500 gallons of water into our neighbor's yard/driveway~ which means between our houses the drainage pipe is clogged. I refuse to stress over that today - but just need to get water out of the basement before it flooded. It is drying up...slowly but drier than it was this morning. I am physically exhausted from the stress of seeing all that water seeping in more and more each hour. I had no time to prep anything for dinner and way too tired (and mad about spending MORE money) to go out to eat so I put a roast in the oven at 4:30. We will eat late but better than spending more money to go out. See? THIS is why I hate APRIL so much!

Yes KISS over here. Resting and recouping. Glad to be home. I dropped Emilie off at work and did some shopping for groceries. They had shrimp on sale for $11.99 fire a big bag. We were eating sober and I said I didn't remember putting it in the freezer. We'll they must not have put it back in my cart because we dive have it. And I was charged $22 for it! Wha?! I left the receipt to Emilie to see if she can fix it. So mad. But I was any to get fruit and veggies, and since other stuff. I got canadian bacon too make a 1/2 batch of Caroles breakfast scramble. I have done ripe bananas I need to make something out of. It was a beautiful day today. Temps in 80s and sunshine. We just put our A/C on for the 1st time.

Good evening...not sure how many will read this tonight, but I just realized that I hadn't posted! I am sitting here waiting for dinner to finish cooking. Today was another cold day--the high was 49 and we are supposed to drop to 38 degrees tonight. The good news though is that I think it is going to warm up next week. There are so many people who have had horrible allergies this spring....I am crossing my fingers--so far, so good! I got home from the grocery store today and DH said he wanted to take me out to lunch -- the drive and lunch were nice! He went with me to Costco yesterday (I have a few very specific things I wanted to get) and I realized that he really hasn't been there much at all. He kept saying, "This place is so big!" Wow, that needs to change...he needs to take care of it once in a while! It was a good day yesterday though and today was good as well---low key and I have my work-work done now.
Carole: Oh, I hope that you got the outside furniture set up (and the rain held off). Congrats to Tim and Jaclyn! Wow, 19 years! Definitely worth a celebration. I am so glad that the kitchen project seems to be moving forward again. When we set our fridge back in, we only had to move it back about 2 inches so it just meant cutting out some of the wall---it didn't affect the sheetrock in the neighboring room (which is the garage). It made a big difference though. It sounds like you had a productive day planned...I hope that it all worked out. I just signed and mailed the form moving the retirement date by one day. I guess I will take DH's SS stuff with me to work and, if I have a break in the day somewhere, I will try to call them to get it straightened out. It just makes me disappointed in the whole system because I was so careful with how I filled it out. So tomorrow is the Boston Marathon! We have friends running it who are posting pictures and the weather seems good. Hope that you have had a good day.
Christine: Oh man....I was so sorry to read about the sump pump! On the other hand, thank goodness you went down there and saw it when you did! Hey, tomorrow we hit the halfway mark in April....I have to believe that your month will get better. Yikes to Gary and the tires too!! I do have to say that your description of staying home alone and not having to drive anywhere sounded so nice...I hope you enjoyed that part of the weekend. Thanks to Linds, by the way. I am sorry about her class issue...how frustrating and expensive. Hugs to her (and you) as she thinks about that and maybe finishes up some time in the future?
Jenny: Oh, I LOVE the picture of your dad and his siblings....two boys and two girls in their family? How great that you hosted that party and got them all together! Another great thing about hosting something like that is that now your yard is ready to go! You can enjoy it for the rest of the Spring and summer. I do hope that you took it easy today to get some rest before your work week starts up. Your weather forecast might be better than ours....we are looking at a high of 70 by the end of the week and then back into the low to mid-60's....I am ready for a week of 70s! Hope that you had a good day!

Sue: It looks like you have had a great visit! What a difference this has made for your mom and her quality of life.....I am so happy for you and your siblings. And I hope that she can facetime with family in the near future as well....it is such a great example of technology for the better! I hope that you get checked in okay. Meg and I have to switch planes in Atlanta when we fly to Montreal in September. We are doing carry-ons though so I hope that makes it a bit less stressful....I am so glad that you and Jason were able to make this trip!
Jo: Well, sorry about losing your $ on the ghost tour! Like Carole mentioned, when we went to Hawaii there were some things that you had to book way in advance but, like you said, there are other things that would be worth waiting to see what the weather is like, if you feel like doing it or just doing something. So, how did Emilie do when you were gone? Do you think you can try it again and Steve can go with you to the lake in the summer? I have been hoping that the two of you can do that trip. Oh, thanks for asking! I do like my car---it is different than my other one (8 years of time means different technology!) but, since it is the same model, it also feels familiar. It took me SO long to decide, but am glad about my decision.
Well, I am going to sign off. I hope that you all had a good Sunday!
