Welcome to the Clutter Patrol, formerly CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
I’m heading out in a while, should be a fun day.
Bonnie - I am a diabetic. My A1C is just slightly above pre diabetic readings and I’m hoping to get them lower again.
Ruth - I do not count carbs, the dietitians that I worked with just emphasized eating healthy carbs.
Dottie - I’m sure you’re glad to be back home again.
Martha- are the blueberry scones homemade or store bought? I really enjoy scones and might look up a recipe to make my own.
I took ground beef out of the freezer. Tonight I’ll mix with taco seasoning. Planning on taking taco salad to work for a couple of days, probably freeze the rest gof later use.
Enjoy your day

Gmorning to all~ (((Hugs))) Just put a big goose egg for how much accomplished yesterday. I woke up with headache. It continued after taking ibuprofen/Tylenol. I slept off & on until 5pm. We ate dinner and were in bed by 9. Slept good, only got up once. I will be playing catchup today and a nap might happen also. Have a great day! Joy - the scone recipe is from older ww cookbook.

Good morning all. Felt terrible when I got up this morning. Then I saw a meme that really hit home with me. I need to take baby steps, but I MUST take those steps to help myself. My weight is a huge issue and is making everything worse; I babied my back and lost strength and any endurance I used to have; and if I don’t get on the ball and get myself back in decent shape, I will never be able to take care of Stan down the road because I’ll need someone taking care of me. Going to find easy classes at the Y that I can start taking and I have lots of videos I’ve saved but not tried. And we have the treadmill and I can start walking for 10-15 min at a time and build up from there and soon get outside. I HAVE to do something. I can’t go on as I am!
Joy, the dietician I’m working with hasn’t talked about counting carbs either. She sent me some sheets on sample diets, foods to stock the kitchen with and foods to remove from the house. I need to look at them more closely and follow them. I’m trying to track everything (good & bad) and drink more water and now I need to add in some exercise.
Welcome again Bonnie! Good luck with your paper clutter. I have so much paper downstairs in files and bins that must be gone through. Our city is having a couple shredding events in May and I want to have a box ready for that.
Martha, I’ve had too many of those goose egg days. So much to do and my energy and attitude and everything just holding me back. Trying to do a few things at a time. This morning I’m doing laundry, unloaded the dishwasher & re-loaded; and did up the few dishes that needed doing by hand. We CAN do this!
Dottie, enjoy your time with the grands and DS#1 & DGS. Nice that they can come and visit since you haven’t seen them since the holidays. Do you Facetime or Zoom with them when you are in Florida? Sawyer wanted to Facetime last night before bed since I hadn’t chatted with her since before they left for St. Louis. She was in a good mood and that’s a nice change.
When checking online for our expected mail this morning, I saw that Stan & I each got letters from the IRS. Of course we both panicked and worrying about them. Didn’t come until after Stan had gone to the Y. Turns out they were just receipts for each of us for that $18 that we owed from those investment forms that came way late after we’d already filed. So they were nothing to worry about, but we were anyway. Can’t wait for him to get out of class and call so I can let him know and he can quit worrying. In hindsite, I should not have mentioned them to him and checked what they were before I mentioned them at all. I have to learn to be more careful about things like that because the stress is not good on his PD. I wasn’t thinking because I was feeling awful this morning. Did not sleep well last night and I felt awful this morning. Better now for many reasons.
I have a massage this afternoon. Hoping not to get a migraine or tinnitus or any other bad side effects from it. Will talk to her to see what we can do to not have them. Maybe less head massage and we will skip any cupping this time.
Stan is signing up for a couple upcoming online PD seminars. They are in person but if you can’t/don’t want to be there in person, you can participate online. Should be interesting. One talks about sleep issues; one talks about other symptoms like drooling, tremors, etc. Something we can both sit through and gain more knowledge. He’s playing around with when he takes the meds now to see what helps with sleep w/o making things worse during the day.
Ok, need to go check on the laundry and hang up the perma press. Heard the dryer and the washer is done too.
Have a good day all. Tonight is our next to last hockey game for the season. That’s a little depressing too.

Good afternoon everyone! Hope everyone's week is off to a great start!
Ruth - seeing that there are letters from the IRS on the way is one of my least favorite things in the world! Glad it turned out to be not-a-big-deal!
Joy - thank you for sharing that you are diabetic; you've made me feel less alone as I try to navigate my "new normal".
I have not been very productive today - grocery store run / putting all the groceries away and laundry has consumed most of my day.
I'm not a big cook (I don't really enjoy cooking at all), but tonight I'm going to try something new - "Eggroll in a Bowl". I'm making it with ground turkey breast and going to try to keep the sesame oil to a minimum so that I can keep the WW points low.
Last week one of my kitties had to have surgery. Today we got the all-clear from his vet that he doesn't need to wear the "Cone of Shame" anymore - we're all quite relieved about that!
Wishing everyone a great upcoming week!

Joyce, I’m planning on making tacos later this week. I bought everything I need for them. You have been doing good with the weight loss and exercise, keep it up.
Martha, sorry you had such a bad headache. Hope it is okay now.
Ruth, we only had the grands here. Both DSs and families visited us in February so we had a chance to visit with both families. Glad it wasn’t anything major from the IRS. I have found that Bill gets upset about things before he gets all the facts. I keep some things from him till I know about a problem.
Bonnie, it sounds like you have a very interesting life. Where in New Hampshire do you live. It’s been a number of years since we have been there but when we first moved to Connecticut (originally from St. Louis), DH and I would go to New Hampshire and Vermont for weekends several times a year. I have seen recipes for egg roll in a bowl but never tried it. Let us know how you liked it.
We are having a good visit with the grands, they head home tomorrow. We made cookies this morning and then went to play miniature golf, on the way home we stopped at a park. After dinner we went to their favorite playground, beautiful night.
