Tuesdayβs intentions Clean the living room. Vacuum the carpeting. Hit the grocery store for some basics plus produce. Dinnerβs pretty much in the bag: Have very tasty, but lean pork loin roast in homemade gravy, Rβs creamy mashed potatoes, & a salad. Only need to add another vegetable. May make a mock coconut cream pie using spaghetti squash.
Will add some additional activityβ probably outside since it will be a nice day. On Monday, I gathered the large amount of small branches & twigs. Goodness there were so many. I made at least 8 trips carrying bundles to the fire pit. Will enjoy a great fire when it happens.

I can stay positive, track every BLT, kick the cold virus to the curb one little bit at a time, make healthy choices, and read another book. My sister and I are checking in with one another and both have dropped a bit on the scale.
We have leftovers to reheat for lunch and I might make the cauliflower into a soup...it sounds good for some reason.
The cold has me sounding like a fog horn this morning and has deepened my voice significantly. At least I was able to sleep last night so must have been tired or my nose less stuffed up.
SUSI: What is up with Lily? Did she eat something off? Pick up a virus? Or? Hope she is better soon!
LADONNA: How fun to stay with your daughter in her home for the first couple of nights before she stayed there alone. Is she in a place with other homes or kind of off on her own?
JUNE: Will you be teaching again in Fall? I thought you were ready to retire?
MJ: Hope you have a slower day soon!

Cathy- Great strategy! You and your sister have had a lot of success being one-on-one WL buddies. Congrats to you both on getting the scale moving downward. Glad that you could sleep last night. Maybe the fresh citrus helped? Mmmm. . . A bowl of cauliflower soup might just hit the spot- warm, creamy, tasty, & different.
RE teaching: I am ambivalent. I would have taught this semester had the university not cut my class. Now the university has to absorb students from a local community college that is a hot mess. So there is a need for adjunct faculty. I head the list, thus the program director reached out to me. I tentatively agreed to having my name pencilled in. Itβs an online class. I may or may not teach it. Keeping the option open right now. Once the neuro tests & consult happen, I will be in a better position to decide what I want. And we will have the house renovation finished. I can then best envision & shape βwhatβs next.β

Good morning to all - another busy day. I was supposed to go to a meeting in Cola today (which I was looking forward to and getting out of the office...) but work load cancelled my plans. Lots going on at work that I can't get into right now due to the time but I'll explain later...nothing bad just changes, etc.
June, I wish you could be my fairy All those things you would do sounded heavenly I need to do the same with branches and twigs! One of these days. Regarding the university...I knew they would need you! You'll know if its right when they contact you again.
Cathy, Laken is in a rural area but she does have neighbors on each side of her which I like Hope you get that cold kicked to the curb soon...I'm finally feeling like my lungs are clear.

June - You'll know if they call if it's the right time to go back. In the meantime, glad you have the insurance approvals to get the necessary tests done and finish up the work around the house. Cathy - You always seem to do a bit better when you check in with your sister. Hope you finally kick that cold to the curb. Lily always finds something to eat that she shouldn't when we walk. I really don't know how! LaDonna - I hope the changes are good changes at work. Glad Laken has neighbors near by. MJ - Hope you have an unscrambled day. Waving to Bee and Ann if she checks in.
Not much going on here. Got my bloodwork done this morning for an appointment next week. The lab was jammed. You can make an appointment but early mornings are at least a month out and not as early as when they open. Lily fortunately is back to normal so that's good. Looking forward to the annual handicapped children's charity ball this Saturday. I will recycle one of my older gowns since they are all classic and I only dress up once or twice a year.
S - Usual coffee B - Cheesy spinach scramble over arugula w/647 toast L - Tuna over roasted peppers with crackers D - Chili lime salmon over TJ's spicy Mexican style cauliflower rice E - Walking and stretching

Good afternoon, all!
Prayers still going up for those in the path of storms... many, MANY prayers... there are many, MANY storms... and fires, too, that never seem to go away...
Prayers for all our loved ones who are in particular need...

Yesterday I really wasn't on my computer much at all (THAT should give y'all a hint as to how the day was running, eh?).
We were up early and Son#1 and the Kressling were here a few minutes after 6 AM. I took Son#1 to the train and the Kressling (who needed their car) went off to work. Kressling was back here after his shift and stayed until after I left for my 11 AM dermaDoc appointment. That was with a "covering doctor" (mine is on maternity leave; baby James and mama are doing very well). Different doctor in this teaching facility means different resident doctor as well; it was like going back to my first visit there in August 2023 π§π. We spoke about making meds adjustments but are not doing that at this time. I can't afford to have side effects (esp gastric ones) over the next little while. My next visit is in 3.5 months, so mid-August; since both the new MD and my original only had appts available 10 days apart I went with the original - and also made one for another 3 months forward from that <jinx><jinx>.
K'ling2 came in after school so we fed him first dinner and he had a nap. The Kressling came in after his afternoon shift. I finally took K'ling2 home and picked up the Zigster on the way while the Kressling waited here for Son#1. Odd plan but workable.
I got the YM email about Friday's trip sent out on Sunday night and am fielding the responses. The JB-MDL civilian admin sent out updates last evening about Friday's trip but there's nothing in it that the YMs need to know directly. I worked on other YM stuff and will continue doing so today. Lots to do, to get ready for tomorrow's drill, Friday's trip, and Saturday's drill.
Toots suggested Jersey Mike's for Monday lunch so we did our two-meals thing. Today's big meal? I put the pork roast in the oven this morning to cook low and slow. My small crock pot / rice cooker stopped working last month so I discarded it but have not replaced it yet. The other crock pot is way too big for my two-pound roast.
Coffee... βββ... afternoon mug...
π±π·βοΈπ·π±π·βοΈπ·π±π·βοΈπ·π±π·βοΈπ·π± Be well! Have a healthy-eating day, all! π±π·βοΈπ·π±π·βοΈπ·π±π·βοΈπ·π±π·βοΈπ·π±
