.Actually managed to sleep until almost 8. Guess I was really tired.
suddenly remembered I need to clean up the patio..like having another room..Windex the two tables and go over the plastic wicker chairs with Pledge on a cloth. My poor snake plant has a lot of dust I need to remove.all this wind brings dust early this year.
after that some desk work.
Dsil just texted she made it to the 6AM plane and friend here is picking her up, not Uber. I guess they are coming straight here, but noidea or if they are staying, and wish I knew.

Thanks for the start, Linda. I was wondering when DSIL would arrive. I’m glad you got some rest. Iggy said he saw so e shoots on the ash in February, so you’re probably right that it is confused.
Karen, the shrimp was from the fish store and they were boiled not grilled. Iggy said the bluejay nests in a tree three doors down. How was the MG meeting? Everything set for the plant sale?
Kathy, this year it’s the red winged blackbirds that are mouthy. We've had a lot more of them this year and less of the house finches.
It’s a balmy 82° here and sunny. The AC has kicked on. Iggy went on YS farmer’s market facebook site and it is officially open, so we will probably go this Saturday. Hurray! I was mistaken about opening date. It’s the orchard that doesn’t open until June.

Thanks for the start, Linda. Nice that you didn't have to go to the airport. I hope DSIL got there safely. Did you get your patio and your snake plant cleaned up? Great that you slept so well. I'm sure you were very tired after all your activity on top of your Covid vaccine.
Kathy, we have ducks! I saw a couple of mallards in the cove this morning. Maybe we can swim together. The lake temp is still just 58°, so I don't think I'm going to wade in quite yet. Are you seeing any more activity around the pond? The last scene of Elsbeth makes me think Captain Wagner just "got it" and I wonder if a coverup will begin as a result. The next episode will be the halfway point of the season, so something needs to start happening on the investigation soon if they are going to finish this investigation during season 1.
How are you doing, Chele? Are your allergies causing you problems? We have some haze today that is apparently partly from stagnant air, but also wildfires in adjacent states. Fortunately, no smoke smell here, at least so far. Arya and I spent a little time out on the deck and the 80 feels really warm compared to what we've had the last couple of weeks. Amazing that YS is open already. Our AC has been on quite a bit over the last few days. That bluejay is very territorial if the nest is that far away. The meeting was good last night. We've done most of what we can do for the sale and the main setup will apparently on Thursday, so that will put me out of contention to assist. I still have some QR codes to create for plants that people brought in before the meeting last night. We're still trying to ID some of them so we can properly attach labels.
Dale played tennis today and I had more than enough stuff to keep me busy here. I cooked beans and rice (separately) in Elvis. The beans will be for Dale's minestrone that I'll make tomorrow. I've done 3 loads of laundry and baked a couple of large butternut squash for Arya. We have nicknamed her "the squash monkey" because she will sit at my feet giving me puppy dog eyes while I am scooping out the insides, hoping I will feed her chunks of it (which I do). I also swapped out my winter jammies and workout clothes for the summer ones, which I've needed for the past few days. After tennis, Dale stopped at Home Depot for the supplies I need to replant the meadow up by the gate. It didn't do nearly as well as the one in the front yard. Maybe I'll show it a bit more love this year.

that is so funny about squash dog. Minni would look at me as if I were trying to poison her.
No not yet.
her flight is an hour late. She did not bother to tell us. I looked it up.they are flying south out of Chicago then across the panhandle because of tons of storms in north central part of the country.
no idea when she will arrive, if they are taking her for late lunch, if they are coming straight here and staying a while,
I hate surprises like this.

Linda, I hate waiting around for people too. Hope all goes as well as possible with your company.
Chele, I used to see red winged blackbirds at one place I worked, but I haven't seen them around here for a long time. You were almost as warm as us today. We were in the mid 80s, but the 90s start on Friday. That'll be nice to start going to the farmer’s market again.
Karen, I didn't realize the Elsbeth season was so short. You're right, they better start resolving the story line on the investigation soon! I saw two large turtles across the pond and a snowy egret today. The pond is getting a little low and we don't have rain into the forecast until next week. It's that time of year. We usually have some mallards around, but I haven't seen them lately.
