Yesterday we looked at lean protein foods to eat. Today, let's consider what's good for breakfast (even though some of us choose to skip breakfast).

Deciding what to eat for breakfast can be challenging. But skipping breakfast can deprive you of the energy you need for the day. - - - - -
There's information about why having breakfast is important as well as specifics about what's best. Here's a general outline of what's covered in the article:
Nutrients To Eat at Breakfast Why You Should Try Not To Skip Breakfast Beverages (including coffee and tea, along with why about each) Fruits (with information about bananas, blueberries, cantaloupe, cranberries with specific information about cranberry juice vs cranberry juice cocktail, grapefruit, kiwi, orange juice [freshly squeezed], raspberries, strawberries, watermelon) Low-Fat Dairy (with specific information about eggs, Greek yogurt, plant-based milk and yogurt plus what nutrients to look for in each) Nuts and Seeds (with specific information about almond butter and flaxseed) Whole Grains (with specific information about cereal, oatmeal and whole-wheat bread) and a review section to sum up the information in the article.
1. I think most of us know most of the information in the article. However, I did learn a few new things. Did you? 2. Anything to add? 3. What's on your mind today? 4. And in lieu of a "FUN" question (which, by the way, I LOVE when you ladies stump me with one), here's a think question: What affirmations can you adopt to bolster your confidence and well-being?

It always amazes me how much the powers that be keep changing which foods are good for us & which foods are bad. Coffee & eggs (both of which I enjoy a lot), were given a bad rap for years, now they are good for us!!! Maybe someday soon, they will declare pizza a health food. LOL Always good to review these things, it is so easy to forget the things that we should be adding to our diet.
I never skip breakfast (or any other meal for that matter), within an hour of getting up, I am ready to eat.
What's on my mind today? Just sitting by DH's bed in rehab, hoping & praying that I will be able to take care of him when he comes home on Friday.

There's no logical reason, but for some reason, I don't think of watermelon as a fruit to eat a breakfast time. I'm not all that fond of bananas, but I do end up eating one a few times a week. My husband has one every day, so I know I always want to have them on hand. If I have too many that are going to get too ripe, I'll eat eat to keep from having them go bad. I do sometimes pair the banana with another item on the list - almond butter...spread almond butter on a caramel rice cake and top with banana slices.
Can't think of an affirmation as such, but perhaps try to generally have positive thoughts...thinking that it's just as likely for things to go good (as much or more than things going bad.)
