Good morning:
Well, I don't have a lot to add to yesterday's post....only that today is looking to be a nice weather day again. I am so glad to get the break from the rain (and I know that everyone else is too). I have a meeting at 7:30 am so not a ton of time to post here, but thought I would get us started in case others have time to post today.
Carole: I know....I am still in the "no tracking" club. Maybe today? Between work, the upcoming court case (consuming our lives AGAIN--supposed to be on 5/7), and DH's Medicare issues, I don't even want to add another "have to" to my list. Add to that the person who is transitioning to my position-- I really love her but every conversation winds up being at least 2 hours long. Then I lug work home with me that I can't get done at the office. I've got to find a way to tone it down. I mean, seriously, a lot of it has rules that you have to follow (I have the rules right with all of my files) and she might want to do it another way.....some things are 10 months out before they have to be done so, aside from sharing 6 years of information about how I did it (since the person before me didn't leave anything), I just don't see why we need to go over it in depth. But, once again, I am working to help others feel more comfortable. Oh, and the Deputy Supt announced yesterday that he is leaving (early retirement) 12/31/24. So now people are kind of uneasy about that. Anyway, this is taking a ton of time right now -- no more complaining from me. Sorry about that, got side-tracked. I am still so impressed with your cleaning and it sounds like what I have planned! I really do look forward to decluttering my house--I just think I will feel calmer. I hope that you have a nice day planned today.
Jenny: Our group is in Estacada, OR visiting schools there. I don't know exactly where it is, but their hotel is near the Portland airport. Your hand looks better....is it feeling better? I'll bet that this feels like a long week to you...hope that it is passing quickly.
Sue: Did you make it home okay? I am glad that you have a short week.
Okay, time to get moving. Have a good day everyone!

Good Morning ☼ Another nice sunny day here, but cooling down, heading into rain again the next few days. I am not feeling well today. Must have finally caught DH cold! Although I don't have the stuffiness, I just have a cough and body aches! Slept 11 hours last night and ready to take a nap. WTH??? I will message my sleep Dr. when I am done here.
Jenny: Your hand looks better... is it still blistery? Glad you could grab a salad for dinner and go to bed early. The CPAP will be the death of me - I swear!
Gabrielle: {{{{hugs}}}} I get it... you have so much going on, I agree one more "have to do" each day (3 times a day) is one thing you do not need right now. Oh geeze, yeah training someone new is another whole stress factor on it's own. Now with Dept. Supt. announcing HIS retirement - people must feel like the whole department will fall apart! I know that's how it was at the bank. With Deb leaving in May, then me in December and Debbie in February, there was a lot of stuff going on! Yes, decluttering does help calm me. The problem is now, I don't want to put anything back to mess it up again! LOL

Well the trip to the accountant yesterday was not good. We seriously thought he had made a mistake. I guess we were silly to think that! So... we ended up paying in quite a bit - due to Ken over earning on top of his SS! We were under the impression that since he worked until his "full" retirement, he didn't have an income restriction. Lesson learned... what that means is working to full retirement, you CAN earn as much as you want, and it won't affect your benefit... not that they won't TAX your SS! The good news is... this year he is not working as many hours, and he is not collecting "on call" pay for town ambulance! I'm not happy, but... whatcha' gonna' do?
Anyway, I think I will have something for breakfast, then head back upstairs. Maybe go through some of the stuff to put back on the dresser, etc.
Might check back later - have a great day ladies
♥hugs♥

Evening all....feeling a bit more in control at work....quick rundown of what happened...last week we got 1400+ Hopkins orders, by the time I had 2/3 of them done they said "hold off, they were sent in error"....so I stopped. On Thursday the first MEAP dropped along with 1150 100% rushes which means they need to be processed and mailed same day....NO WAY...then at the end of Thursday they say "no, they are not valid" but on Friday morning they say YES, they are all valid orders so Gloria and Tonya worked 4 hours OT Saturday, came in at 6:00am on Monday and Tuesday and they finally got them finished today!! In the mean time, the Hopkins orders only had "some" that were cancelled, so the batch that I had already processed got repulled and shipped, and I had to finish up the last of the original orders minus the few that Tonya had pulled out....AND the next MEAP dropped yesterday and I finally got to that one today...and the next one dropped today.....it's a mad house over there and the guys are complaining about everything and it's to the point the next guy that says something will get a stapler thrown at them!! LOL!! So tired of their whining!!
OK....went back and read the last few days....not even going to attempt to catch up, too many days have passed.....
Carole....I was impressed with your "white tornado" days but I get it, some times I go strong and then I'm done!! Question, I don't remember reading, did you get the taxes figured out?? Jason retired at full retirement age and can make as much as he wants with no consequences....I'm assuming Ken had taxes withheld on his SS check??? I forgot to do that initially so we knew we might have to pay that but it was only one month....we had had more taken off with other paychecks so we were OK....hopefully you got it figured out!! Our old fridge was always free standing, now it's built in but because of the fact we couldn't set it back into a room, it's against the cellar stairs wall so we had to do counter depth....it's smaller than the old fridge but thankfully we moved that downstairs to the basement because it's cheaper to run than the 20+ year old one we had!! Glad the girls seem to be getting along better....I'm sure as they grow up there will be stages where they do and then stages when they don't!! I know I see that with the boys too!
Christine...all I can say is "when it rains it pours" for you this April!! You have more than April Showers this month!! While I'm sure you needed tires on the car, with Gary knowing how much you have already needed to spend on multiple things in April opted to buy tires now?? Hope Colby Girls paw is healing!! How's the basement?? Drying out yet?? We have had more rain than we need in PA this month. Jason noticed some dampness in the crawl space....when the guy comes to put in the concrete step on the patio this Saturday, he is going to ask Mike what he could do to fix it....if it's a big project based on what Mike says Jason will either fix it or call Scott to come and make it right!!
Jo....love your pictures from your trip...I know the weather wasn't perfect and you missed the on tour but the scenery was fantastic!! How did Emilie do being home alone....do you think she will be able to do it again so Steve can travel with you next time??
Jenny....glad you hand is healing! Love the picture of your dad and his siblings....sounds like the day was a success and now your yard and patio are ready for summer!!
Gabrielle....glad you got the retirement date snafu addressed and hopefully the SS fix for the Medicare for Ed is an easy fix too. Yes, crazy how quickly our kids grow up...Tyler will be 30, Hannah will be 40!! Boy does that make me feel old!! I now know why my dad said when I turned 40 "boy, I feel old"!! I get it!! The Lake Tahoe race sounds fun...sounds nostalgic for Ed!!
Karen....I love the FB pictures of the festivities before Isaac's wedding!! Hard to believe it's this weekend!! Can't wait to see the pictures of the special day!! BTW, I watched the "polliwog" video again and it just makes me giggle..."mom, can you make a polliwog?" Can't believe Miss Eleanor is almost 3 already!!
Now....time to be current....
Trip home was eventful....as you know we were delayed an hour and a half in Atlanta...then because of weather we were diverted which added about 20 more minutes so we landed in BWI when we should have been within 15 minutes of home!! Baggage claim took forever but thankfully we walked out of the airport and the shuttle for Lot B arrived in about 5 minutes!! But then we got stuck at a train, then in nighttime construction....needless to say it was a long day. We got home 2+ hours later than we planned but still at a decent hour.....pulled in at 11::05 and since we were on "central time" we weren't exhausted!!
Gabrielle....glad nice weather is finding it's way to you. We apparently had warm weather here all weekend...it was 70's yesterday and today....now we are having a stretch of mid-60's for the 10 day forecast which is normal for us!! LOL, yes, after the way my "short week" started, I'm glad it is short!!
Carole....yes, we are cooling down here and off and on sprinkles...we got about 6 drips here today to but thankfully not enough to stop the driveway replacement....we have the same weather Thursday/Friday but nothing more than a quarter inch in the 3 days so no biggie!! Sorry you are not feeling well...sorry you caught Ken's cold....I slathered Thieves on my feet last week and thankfully I didn't get Jason's cold!! Jason still has a bit of a cough and he started the weekend before we left....the worst of the symptoms were gone in a couple days but the cough lingered for another week!! What does your CPAP say about your sleep last night??
OK Carole...I'm confused....Jason collected SS last year and made more than he has ever made but we did have "voluntary federal taxes" withheld. I'm thinking now Ken did not??? Yes, SS is taxable income. In the state of PA it is not taxable but we had the federal withheld from each monthly check. If you retire before your full and continue to work more than than the "earning limit" set by SS you get your monthly benefit reduced but yes, after full retirement age you can make as much as you want and it doesn't reduce the monthly SS benefit but it is still taxed Federally. It's easy to change online!! You know the federal government has to take their cut!! Even in retirement!!
OK...time to call it a day....sweet dreams all!! See you all tomorrow!!
