This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
All are welcome here.

Good morning to all & happy Thursday!
Gray, dreary and super foggy here this morning and I think that's pretty much the order of the day and then we're supposed to add in some potentially severe thunderstorms this evening into tonight. <Sigh> spring in the deep south.
DHs implant procedure seems to have gone smoothly. He has an antibiotic to take as a preventive measure while healing as well as 800mg ibuprofen and some hydrocodone for pain as needed and a medicated mouth rinse. So far, he's taken just one ibuprofen and didn't really need that, but wanted to get ahead of the pain (just in case) as the numbing started to wear off. So he hasn't had any pain meds since early yesterday evening.
We have the guy coming today to give an estimate on replacing the siding. I'm pretty sure I'll hate whatever number he throws out. Ha!
Not much else going on around here today. I'll most likely check back later. Take care and I hope we all have a Thursday to be thankful for.

Hello All - skipped the walk with DD today as DH and I had an LLI class. It was on Fort Sumter, but the guy giving the lecture was difficult to understand. He had a couple problems with the mike among other things, so we will be sure not to take another of his classes.
Lora - good idea to stay ahead of the pain...one time I did not do that and was sorry. The repairman came at 12:40 (time was 9:00-1:00) but knew EXACTLY what the problem was, explained it so we understood, ordered the part, and our frig will be fixed next week when the part comes in- yippee!
Janet - yeah for the curriculum specialist's review!
It is a beautiful day - 80 degrees and I am heading outside to read.

Susie - sorry for the poor Ft. Sumpter experience. But YES! for a refrigerator repair man that knows what's wrong and how to fix it. Remember that awful experience that Jana had a few years ago?
It's been fairly quiet around here today. Just picking up and doing some laundry and such. Also looking at schedules and trying to figure out our trip to Michigan to see DD. We're thinking mid-May. But before we put anything in stone, we'll want to see what the siding guy has to say today. If we are onboard with his estimate and what his timeline looks like if we decide to go with him.
Once we have that lined up, then we'll get the Michigan trip sorted and I'll likely board CC at the vet while we're gone. I think a 13 hour car ride would be way too stressful for the little guy. We've had a new vet join a practice in our area and she is very rabbit savvy and does surgeries and procedures on rabbits routinely. The vet we've been going just offers basic care like nail trims and well rabbit checks and prescribes his flea/tick/mite treatments. Rabbit respiratory systems are uniquely sensitive, and many regular vets will not deal with anything that requires anesthesia, like spay & neuter - so CC is intact. He hasn't really shown any bad behaviors that are generally fixed by neutering, like spraying and marking territory or aggressive behavior. But it's nice to know I have somewhere close that he can go if necessary. Before this new vet came the nearest exotic that would treat him anything serious was 2 1/2 hours away. I'll likely investigate this new vet and may switch to her. I've already threatened him after a little hissy fit he threw yesterday that there's a new vet in town who will cut off his little giblets if I ask. He did not seem worried about it though. Ha!

Good afternoon everyone.
Our drill is done, and I feel like it went really well. I did meet some new people that I had talked to on the phone or heard about before but never had the opportunity to meet them in person. It is always interesting to put faces to names. I did take 1/2 a xanax each morning to just ease my anxiety going into the meetings and having to speak to the group. (All total there were about 50 people companywide here) I really feel like this was a good experience for me and a great opportunity to learn new things with the company. From this experience I have decided to get some additional training on our emergency management team and procedures. Maybe I will get chosen to help out on an incident (not that I want an incident to happen)
I will be staying in DC tonight and driving back home tomorrow. Right now I am just catching up on some work things and then might go find a walking trail that is supposed to be near the hotel. Other than that I am just going to order food in, and chill in my room tonight. Try to get a good night's sleep before facing DC traffic in the morning.
OH yes - my fridge - I remember we went 6 weeks with no fridge during covid because we couldn't get the parts or someone out to fix it. It ended with us buying a new fridge which took 2 more weeks to have it delivered - it was a nightmare - however I love my new fridge. We have so much more room in the fridge - and it works great.
Susie glad you are going to get your fridge quickly.
Lora good luck with the siding quote.
Hope everyone is having a great Thursday.

Jana - have a safe trip back home. Sounds like the conference has worked out good for you. Sooooooo, our appointment was for the siding guy to be here at 2pm. It's now a little after 3:10pm. The dude isn't here and we haven't heard a peep from him. Not a great start. At this point, I'm clearly fine with moving on to the next guy. On the bright side, the house is all picked up and I finally got all of the junk off cleared off of the of the flat surfaces...Lol. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Well, it's now 5:30p. The siding guy is still a no show/no call. I don't understand what is up with people and companies these days.

Lora, glad DH's procedure went well, and I hope he has a speedy recovery. I agree, sounds like it' s time to move on to the next guy. Susie, sorry you couldn't hear the Fort Sumter class. So glad you are feeling better! Jana, glad the drill went well and you had a nice time. Safe travels back home tomorrow! I think I'm going to get better, sometime. I didn't have a lot of hope, but today I actually felt I could breathe between the albuterol doses. So, maybe the antibiotics kicked in. I know it'll be a bit before I'm completely better, but I can breathe now. The students presented their Am. Rev. projects today, which was great fun. Tomorrow we'll finish them up, then on Monday we'll have patriotic refreshments and play the board games that the students made. Waving hi to all!

Part two Janet, I am so sorry you are having those issues with those toxic people. You have such a great positive outlook about it. Those kids are lucky to have you. Robin, the blooming flowers sound lovely! What a nice thing for your neighbor to do! I'll bet you had a yummy trout meal. Waving hi to all!

Hello everyone, Jill, that is great that you are slowly getting better. The class projects sound fun!
Lora, I would cross that guy off the list. I don't mind a change in plans but is it too much to just call and let someone know?! Are you looking to do a different color or the same that is already there? That vet sounds like a great find for you and CC.
Susie, that sounds like it would have been so interesting. How frustrating to struggle to hear it!
Janet, it sounds like you had a much better day. You really are a gift to those kids.
Jana, I'm so glad that you had such a positive experience. I hope you have a nice evening in D.C. and a good trip home. At least you will be heading OUT while everyone else is coming IN. Where are you staying?
I'm still putting out applications. I got a response to one, almost immediately after I sent in my resume. I have a virtual interview with them tomorrow at 12:30. It sounds like they are doing several so I am happy to be in the running. I am getting a lot of messages from people in my old job. Another person has been fired this week. Again, no one is really sure why. There is a lot of chaos going on now. I am going to head up to bed soon. I have been getting some things done around here and I am tired from not sleeping great anyway. I will be back tomorrow. Have a great evening, everyone. The weekend is SO close!

Hi Everyone,
Lora, I am sorry you waited for this guy and he never called. Definitely move on. If he is like that now he is totally unreliable for any future work you want done.
Jana, glad things went well with this work trip. What type of drill is it that you were doing? Was it an active shooter or some other type of emergency planning drill?
Our director came in to tell my teaching partner and myself that our Senior Director looked through the video tapes and found no evidence of anything suspicious. She emailed the parent about it. The parent then said she asked her son what happened and the son told her that she touched his hand and blew a kiss goodbye. All that accusation telling the director that we never told her anything a few weeks ago about this thing saying he was sore in his private parts Nothing to tell as nothing like that happened. We'll still have to act professional and say hello to her when she drops him off. That is all I plan to do. No extra going out of my way like I do with my other parents.
Susie, sorry that the lecturer was difficult to understand.
Jill, hope you continue to get better.
Robin, good luck on your phone interview. It's a shame what's happening in your former office. Have a restful night !!
