I would certainly like to thank the wonderful person who decided I needed to have a cold. I have been miserable. Coughed a lot during the night and finally managed to get to sleep about 4 a.m. I have coughed a lot today and blew my nose continuously. Didn't know there was that much snot that could come out of a person. Good thing I just bought new boxes of tissues.
Chilly and windy today. The sun was out and that helped. Frost warning out for the next couple nights.
About all I did today was empty the dishwasher and take a hot shower. Haven't done much else, read a bit. Talked with Connie a while ago and she's having computer problems so won't be posting until her daughter comes back on Monday to see if she can figure out what's wrong.
Tomorrow I have an appt to get my car serviced. Probably stop at the library too. Have a book to return and have 2 to pick up.
Have a good night. bettyj

My eye injection went great. The doctor said my macular degeneration has actually improved so did not need to go up another level in the medication. I talked to him about how difficult it was to get the four week appointment and that I had actually been coming every five weeks. He said that definitely makes a difference and wrote on my chart that he was very firm on it being every four weeks. Now I knew the next four weeks is May 16th but I guess in his mind four weeks is exactly one month so put a date of the 18th down which is wrong as that’s a Saturday. The scheduler gave me a hard time as since he had written down the 18th she would not even try for the 16th. I told Fred it is so annoying that someone can’t look at the calendar and realize the error and now I have to wait for a call back to see if they can squeeze me in. Knowing the time frame means the difference in how it affects the macular degeneration I’ll be pretty insistent on the 16th as Fred even asked the doctor and again the technician is there any leeway in the time and they both said no not even a day. Just so frustrating as by my insisting on yesterday’s appt (which was a four week appt) my eye had improvement. But we were there almost two hours because of how busy they are. The good thing is this tech was so good in the rinsing out of my eye that this time I had no pain or the feeling of a thousand eyelashes in my eye as the numbness wore off.
Then when we took Rosie for her final flu shot I asked about getting her nails clipped as her grooming isn’t until next week and I thought they needed to be trimmed before that and they agreed they did need clipping. I also asked if they could check her anal glands as she had started butt scooting so they said they’d check that as well. Since they had all this work to do they took her to the back where they had more room. They were gone a long time and I heard some crying and thought it was Rosie. The vet came in to say hi as the things that needed to be done could be done by a technician but said he would go see about the glands. A while later here came the tech with Rosie. My first question was did she cry and she said no she was perfect! They did trim her nails and then she said I’m so glad you mentioned checking her glands as they were impacted so it took a while to get them expressed and then we gave her a butt bath to get rid of the smell that occurred from everything that came out. When we got home she was acting so happy and being really goofy so I guess she felt a ton better. They said those glands were so swollen it would interfere with her bowel movements and I told Fred that had happened yesterday morning so if I hadn’t had them checked we could have had major problems. But they also said it looked like either they hadn’t been expressed in a very long time or maybe never. It just broke my heart hearing that but I said well that won’t happen again as with a female dog I get them checked regularly.
Rained most of the day yesterday but this morning it’s clear but very chilly. Fred said he might golf as the tee time is 10:30 and if the sun comes out it will be perfect.

Hi! Happy Friday!
Today, I will go to my surgeon who did my hip surgery. What fun! I'm sure he'll want a new x-ray, but not sure what else he'll want. I think the hip is doing well, so I hope he does, too. I have about 5 minutes.
Hope Connie gets her computer taken care of. Such a nuisance at times.
Oops -- time to get ready. Wish me luck!
Hugs! Diane

Good luck, Diane. We will miss posts from Connie. Glad Rosie didn't cry at the vet's.
I see the spine doctor today. We will see what he thinks should be done. Makes me scared thinking about it.
Coffee. More needed. Have a great day.

Hello, again!
I'm back from surgeon's office. He is very pleased with the way my hip is healing. The x-rays showed the new bone growth he wanted to see. Next appointment is in 9 weeks.
Lucy, I hope the spine doctor can help. Praying for you.
Sandy, here's hoping you get the right appointment date. Poor Rosie. She must have been very uncomfortable. She's a lucky little dog to have found a good home.
Have some fun today!
Diane

Today was a lazy day. I brought in the recycling bin. My neighbor brought my mail to me when she went to get her mail. It sounds like Rosie had an interesting time at the vet. It was so nice to hear that she didn't cry during any of the procedures. It's bright, sunny, and windy outside. It's currently 55 degrees.

Connie is having computer issues. Hopefully she can post tomorrow.
No help from the spine doctor. Next week I go to the pain doctor. Pregabalin is working so I guess that's all I can do. I am not going to have the implant. At least that's what I am saying. Good night 😴💤💤
