Welcome to the Clutter Patrol, formerly CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Ruth, yesterday sounded like a very productive day for you and Stan. You know what to do to get your numbers down, I hope you can start working on that. That’s great that DD can use the boxes for her project, another thing gone from your garage. My doctor doesn’t run the A1C on me. My blood sugar number is usually in the mid or low 90s. The doctor feels I’m doing good since I was a gestational diabetic with both of my pregnancies. I feel that was due to family history on my mom’s side. My mom wasn’t a diabetic but her mother and sister and my one and only cousin on my mom’s side were all diabetics. So far so good, I’m trying to be more consistent with my exercise.
Waving to Joyce, Bonnie and Martha, hope you are all having a good weekend.
This morning I started boxing up donations. I have one box started for the church thrift shop, some jewelry, some nicer blouses and tops and a few misc. items. Another box for the other thrift store. I also have a lot of cables and cords, they can go to the town electronic recycling area. I will wait a week or two to drop the things off and hopefully add more to it.
Last nights dinner with the family was very nice. The restaurant was nice a little pricey but good service and good food. Then we all came back here for dessert. Both families brought some dessert and I made 2 gluten free items so there was plenty, actually too much. We kept a few things but sent most of the items I made and the rest of the dessert home with the families.

Happy 50th Anniversary to Dottie & Bill! Glad that you were able to enjoy a nice dinner with family!
Ruth: I'm sorry that your bloodwork wasn't exactly where you would like it to be. But you have the knowledge & the tools to turn things around - I believe in you and your ability to accomplish the changes you want to make!
Joy: Congratulations on the way you've gotten your A1C # down - you are an inspiration! Keep up the great work!
Waving "Hello!" to Martha!
I've actually begun to make some progress in my office - I've put the shredder to some serious use - LOL!
As for my WW progress, my weight was unchanged this week. I'm actually pretty okay with it though because I did have some wine and ice cream this week - both were well worth the points, but I'm glad the scale didn't seem to notice!
Hope everyone has a enjoyable weekend!

Good evening all. Cold here (45, feels like 34). It’s a damp cold and windy; with lots of sunshine. They said sunshine will help raise the temps to 59 tomorrow. And above 60 in the coming week. Some rain possibly but we still need it. I’m thinking of putting on a sweatshirt because it’s cold here in the house even. Or maybe it’s just me.
Dottie, so happy you enjoyed your dinner out. Most places are pricey now. It’s gotten ridiculous how even breakfast out is expensive. Going to make breakfast for dinner shortly. Bacon and eggs. Nice that everyone came back to your house afterwards. I’m assuming that DS#2’s DF & her children came too? Sounds like lots of desserts.
I have a couple bags ready for a charity pick up. Got a thing in the mail that one is coming next Friday and I think I’ll sign up. And try to get a bag or two more ready to go. It felt good getting those 3 bags of clothes out.
I do know what I have to do to get my A1C and blood sugar both down. Joy has inspired me.
Bonnie, good to give the shredder a workout. Our town is having a couple shredding events coming up in May and I’d like to take a box or two of stuff to be shredded. Maybe look at some paperwork tonight and add to what I already have.
We went to a home improvement expo thing this morning. We actually found a bathroom remodel co. that we liked and are having come out in 2 weeks to give us an estimate. For our shower remodel. Turning it from a prefab fiberglass unit to a more modern looking shower. With tile of some sort on the walls. And it will be about doubled in size. Deep not wide. We also found a small local company doing updates of the inside of kitchen cabinets with pull outs and we’ve talked about doing some of that anyway. So we may have them come and give us an exit for the cabinets that we are interested in particularly.
Then we took a bunch of boxes down to Heather (younger DD). Got to see both grands. And Stan got to play with their one dog that thinks the sun rises and sets on Stan. They say he doesn’t respond to anyone else coming to their house (even them) like he does to Stan. It’s weird!!
ok, going to go make our dinner and then maybe pull up a box of paperwork to go through this evening. Make myself be productive. Have a good evening all. Waving to Martha and Joy! More tomorrow!

Waving hi & sending (((hugs))) I made it to ww mtg/wi. I stayed the same. Due to eating several meals high in sodium, wasn't to sure what would show up. Forced myself to drink more water to help flush it out. I didn't go for walk right after. My hip flexor muscles were arguing with me. Lazy enough that took bus home instead of walking. Not much really planned for wkend. Will be watching nascar race on Sunday. Hoping my driver, martin truex jr, does well. Menus for this next week: soup & grilled sandwich, ravioli/sauce & w/salad, meatloaf w/mashed potato, steak w/ baked potato & corn on cob, pizza w/salad, tky Italian meatball sandwich and pancakes w/bacon & eggs.
Here is the scone recipe I made: Classic Scones - makes 12 servings
1 cup plus 2 T all purpose flour, 1 T sugar, 1 t baking powder, 1/4 t baking soda, 1/4 t salt, 1/2 c plain low fat yogurt, 1 lg egg, 1 T butter, melted and cooled. * Preheat oven to 425*. Spray a baking sheet with nonstick spray. * In a lg bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. In a small bowl, combine the yogurt, egg and butter. Add yogurt mixture to flour mixture; stir until just blended. * On a lightly floured counter, roll out the dough into a 1/4 inch thick round. With a sharp knife, cut dough into 12 wedges. Arrange wedges on baking sheet. Reduce the oven temp to 400*. Bake until the scones are golden brown, 12-15 min. Cool on a wire rack for 10 min. I made some changes, of course. I used nonfat plain greek yogurt and I patted the dough into a circle and cut wedges. I left wedges together. They are on the smaller size. The recipe is in the ww app as classic scones for 2 pts/wedges. I'm going to take short nap to recharge and then off to the kitchen. Have a great rest of weekend! (((hugs)))

Good morning,
Martha - thanks for the scones recipe, I’ll give it a try soon.
Dottie - happy 50th anniversary. Sounds like you had a nice time at dinner.
Ruth - coworker and I are both going through closets and bins this weekend and donating clothes we haven’t worn for a long time. I really don’t need much as far as work clothes go, especially since we’re getting some logo tops to wear. And how many tshirts do I really need … And I will be going through my basement bins too. Time to thin out my Buffalo Bills collection.
Bonnie - ice cream is my downfall, my biggest challenge . I will enjoy once in while, but not as often as I used to.
Enjoy your day

Ruth, the price of breakfast out is terrible. Some places charge $3.99 for coffee or tea. When I order tea out I get a cup of hot water and one tea bag—for $3 or $4. Sounds like you found some companies you want to work with. You will definitely enjoy the pull outs, they help me with keeping things organized and not having to bend over so much.
Martha, hope your hip is doing okay, take it easy till it is better.
Bonnie, any special plans for the weekend.
Joyce, I’m with you on trying to get rid tshirts and other tops, I’m sure I have way more than I need.
I did clean out the glove box in my car today. I received the new registration and when I went to put it in the car I found lots of receipts, coupons and other stuff in the glove box. I recycled most of it, some of it I needed to keep. Other than the usual stuff not much happening here today. I did do a You Tube exercise/dance video, 20 minutes long, good music so the time went fast.
