Good Morning all
We had a great time with our friends last night at dinner. I had some fajitas meat and vegi's with corn tortilla's and 1 Margarita, then the others wanted to stop at the Konditorie for slices of cake, but I did not take any part in that. I don't like cake, it gives me heartburn. I mean these cakes are made from scratch and are all 5 layer cakes. They are very good from what I've heard but very expensive. I guess depending on what you pick out a whole cake can cost anywhere from 75.00 to 80.00. It was a nice little treat from Kerry because he has a sweet tooth.
Well I went to my meeting yesterday and they are taking away our 10:30 spot so now I have to go to the 9:00am spot, I'm not real happy about that because on Saturday's I like to sleep in a little, come and visit with you guy's and clean my house then go to the meeting. I have a feeling since WW is going to the GSL side of weight loss that soon the old WW will be phased out all together and the new WW will be about medication shots instead of diet and exercise because we live in in a society that fixes everything with drugs and pills.
Kerry is up and chatty right now so got to go

Jenny: Today's title, "SIMPLE SUNDAY", is because I am beat! LOL I got into 2 projects yesterday, along with dinner, so a few things didn't get done! Maybe today... Dinner was fine, potatoes were a little overcooked - still a crapshoot with my convection oven (sometimes)! Oh well, they got eaten!
Sue: Oh glad Rose is on the mend and coming home!! Gosh that's kind of scary! We also had a good weather day! LOL When the potatoes started boiling over in the oven, I had to open a LOT of windows and doors! Tracy was sent to the living room. Before that, when Tracy arrived, we enjoyed some HT Time before everyone arrived.
Oh dear... almost noon - just enjoying a lazy-like day so far. Supposed to get cloudy as the day goes on, but doesn't look like it should rain. The only plan for the day is to shorten the DR table, and put the extra chairs away. I should get those damned veggies washed and cut...oh yes, also the big pots and pans need to be washed. I just soaked what I could last night - ran the dishwasher - but called it a night!
A friend's son is selling flowers, to benefit his school PTO. So I have a message into her asking for suggestions for flowers to brighten up our front yard. We need something in front of the new porch. I am so not a plant person, I hate to buy stuff that won't grow out there! LOL
OK Time to get dressed, and get things going here.
♥hugs♥

Afternoon all...slept in a bit, then got the laundry going, finished my shopping list for Sam's and Walmart...left here about 9:45 since the gas part doesn't open until 10:00 and wanted to get gas before groceries. Stocked up on fruits, veggies, grabbed a rotisserie chicken to make some soup later in the week and maybe some chicken salad for wraps for lunches. Got peppers and cukes cut up for the week, grapes picked and washed, last load of laundry in the washer, ground beef cooked for shepherd's pie for supper. The boys love shepherd's pie so it won't leave many leftovers. Still need to make the HB eggs for Sarah and I for the week.....need to get back on track now that life is a bit back to normal.
I am proud to say, I got 4-5 boxes emptied, the laundry basket emptied and all clothes put away in their proper home....even got a couple other piles of things put away and gathered some things for the yard sale next week. All in all feel like I had a very productive afternoon yesterday. Jason got home mid-afternoon and went outside to work on the raspberry wires, the had to replace several of them this year so he just replaced them all...now hopefully he won't have to ever do it again!! Sarah and the boys didn't get home from baseball until about 7:30pm....house got fairly quiet early because Sarah and Kellen had to leave here before 7:00 this morning for his first game....
Jackson opted to stay home with us....2 long days of just sitting watching baseball is more than he wants....when I got home from shopping they were both out in the yard burning the paper trash, twigs, branches and other crap in the middle of the garden. Since Jason was tending the fire, Jackson helped unload the car, picked off all the grapes and was a big helper running things down to the downstairs fridge for me!!
Karen...the pictures of Isaac and Marissa's wedding are so fun. They both look so happy. There was one of Eleanor tossing flowers that was just adorable!! Question, who gave Marissa away??? A brother??? He looked pretty young!!
Carole....thanks for starting us off this morning....
Jenny....glad you had a fun dinner out with friends...I love fajitas!! I'm with you, not a fan of cakes much! They don't give me heartburn, I just don't enjoy them. Never had a sweet tooth!! Jason would love that place!! WOW, that some expensive cake!! Bummer WW is taking away your favorite Saturday time slot!! I'm with you, I have to admit I'm a bit disappointed in WW learning towards injections and pills...yes, everyone wants the quick fix and don't want to be accountable for their diet and exercise.
Carole....I have to admit, I didn't sleep well last night and am also dragging....now that the shopping and few chores are done I can relax and enjoy the rest of my simple day! Once the load in the washer is done, I want to hit the shower so that I'm done before Sarah, Kellen and Jackson need to hit the shower too!! I think Jason will need one as well so makes sense to get mine out of the way!! Did you make baked scalloped potatoes?? When those cook over in the oven they sure make a mess. I too struggle a bit with convection but starting to get it figured out!! Glad you and Tracy got a little HT time!!
It's cloudy and chilly here too...was only 46 degrees when I came home from the store at about 11:30....only a high of 55 today.....things warm up tomorrow. On Wednesday when I get out of work at 2:00 it's supposed to be 67 and sunny....I can deal with that!! I did cancel my recheck at the dermatologist for that day and was going to cancel the 2 hours vacation because it was supposed to rain all day but the forecast changed so I'll hold off for sure until closer to time!!
LOL Carole....Jason and I were just taking about some flowers to brighten things up on the patio and front porch!! He has a couple big terra cotta pots that will look great on either side of the new step!! I'm not a big flower/garden person either but I do love the splash of color on the porch/patio areas!!
Laundry just beeped....gotta run!!
Waves Gabrielle, Jo, Christine and Karen....hope all are having a great day!!

Good afternoon!
It has been a busy day so far--but in a good way. What a perfect weather day today---high of 75, low in the mid 50s. I have all of the windows open for the first time in 2024. Finishing up laundry now, I have been putting out the cushions on the patio furniture (on the deck) and doing cleaning here and there (after grocery shopping). Just a nice day--work-work will happen later. Last night's (late afternoon) bday/retirement party was very nice! There were a lot of people but we knew a number of them -- the food was great--one of the couples we run with has a son who has been trained as a chef so he made "fancy" mexican food (street tacos with some kind of roasted squash and peppers, pork carnitas, and tostadas topped with avocado and marinated ahi). It was just a nice time. I did sleep in for an hour this morning too which was nice as well. I have this "your are bleeding somewhere --anemia" thing in my head again and am glad to have my consult with the gastroenterologist on Tuesday afternoon. I just want to get some answers to know what is going on. Anyway, onto more positive thoughts:
Carole: Well, it sounds like things went well yesterday? And you had not to much more to clean up today--yay! Oh, what zone are you in for plants? I would think that impatiens would do well there (it is too hot here) -- I love them! So pretty! I hope that you get some good advice and can enjoy some flowers. I think another person is supposed to come this week about your kitchen project? I hope that you get some things settled with that.
Jenny: I am so glad that you have this weekend to rest and take care of yourself. I am so sorry about the WW meeting being cancelled. There are still none within 40 miles of me--I feel like meetings are a thing of the past for WW. I saw my leader from 6 years ago at the grocery store the other day--she looks great. We both talked about how we missed the meetings and our groups. She said she works at a desk now. The curious thing about WW promoting the shots/pills, etc. is that everything I have read has said that you need to learn healthy habits to maintain the effects of those drugs. I wonder how that happens without the work around healthy eating, movement, and healthy thinking? I hope that you have a good afternoon.
Sue: Wow, I can see why Jackson stayed home --that is a lot of sitting and a lot of basketball. What a great helper he is too! Plus he gets "alone time" with grandma and grandpa. Well, the SS/MC fiasco. He filled out a form (for a SUPER GROUCHY, unhappy lady) and was told to "call Medicare again". So, he is taking it over starting tomorrow. I am getting everything together for him. Sheesh. Your step is looking nice---you will appreciate that in the cold weather (but might have to salt it to avoid freezing, right? I was thinking that you could maybe put that expandable foam in the crack between your house and the concrete? I don't know how much water will seep through. Good job getting the boxes unpacked! Nice! Hope that you can get to the pool tomorrow---you are so organized with your food, I am sure it will feel good to have some routines back. Have a good afternoon! PS Hope that Sarah is done with OT. Oh, and that is so surprising about Rose!! Thank goodness she went in and got it all looked at!
Hello to Christine, Jo, and Karen....hope that you all are having a good weekend (and Karen-you are recovering from the wedding events!).

Evening all....supper is in the oven now will be ready just after 6:00....Sarah and Kellen are still at that ball park or maybe on the way home. The boys made it into the Championship game! I'm thinking the game is ending about now and then awards, then 45 minutes to an hour home!! Long day when you leave before 7:00pm. Was going to try to hold dinner but we are all getting hungry. I'm thinking they might just stop and grab something on the way home.
Jackson got his shower a bit ago so that is done!! I've bee washing up dishes and loading the dishwasher as I go so it will only be the dinner dishes later. I even folded AND put away all the laundry!! That never happens, I'm infamous for living out of the laundry basket all week but as the seasons change I need to swap out the sweatshirts and long sleeves for 3/4 or short sleeved shirts....capris instead of jeans!! It's time! I tried out the new step on the patio and it's perfect!! The 15" is just enough!!
Gabrielle....glad you had a nice time at the party last night....the food sounds delish!! It never did really warm up at all today and it was a bit overcast but no rain so that's fine!! Now that the patio is done, I need to check out table w/umbrellas for the space....want to get a small fire pit....need to check with Hannah next time we talk...they have a small portable one that can easily be moved! That's what I'm thinking! Nothing huge, just something small for a little atmosphere!
Sorry the SS/MC fiasco carries on....glad Ed is taking over from here! Hopefully there is some resolution soon!! Yes, Jackson is very glad he stayed home today....he was out playing for a bit, played some PlayStation, helped both Jason and I a bit and has been sweet as pie!! He's just a good kid!! Yes, I thought about that expandable foam too...that might be an option if the "patch" Mike put in yesterday pulls away again!! I'm sure Jason will figure it out!!
Well, not getting to the pool tomorrow, will go on Tuesday....Jason brought up the shower chair and walker for Rose....I need to drop it off right after work so it is there when she gets home. Tom is picking her up at 4:00 so she will be home by 5:00 so need to get it there beforehand. It's in the total opposite direction as the Y so will just go Tuesday instead....no biggie!!
Actually Sarah was still working OT last week....up and at work at 5:00am....too early for me for weeks on end!!
On a sad note....got word from Vonnie....it is confirmed that Irelyn does have cancer....we are all heart broken. She is two weeks younger than Rowan. They have not confirmed the type of cancer and if it has metastasized or not.....they hope to have the type, stage and more information early this week....Emily and Kyle are beside themselves....Irelyn is the oldest of 6 kids....their hands are full and this is just overwhelming for them and the family.
OK....supper just about ready....will see you all tomorrow! Sweet dreams!
