Well, just lost my post AGAIN. Our internet is so unreliable.... I did make it to the gym this morning but took it easy on the quads....the many hills that I ran on Saturday are still being felt in that area. It was good to focus on other areas though and to loosen up on the elliptical. I have a dentist appt today first thing and will hopefully wrap up my invisalign (it has been 6 months)---I think that I have a night retainer/guard that I wear for life though. I hope to get the "bumps" that they put on my teeth removed and to be able to sip a cup of coffee rather than guzzle it to get the trays back on. We will see.
Sue; Wow, such a long day for Sarah and Kellen (was Josh there?) but hooray for making it to the championships! I hope that she isn't working OT today...wow, that would be exhausting. I am so sorry to read of the young girl with the cancer diagnosis. I can't imagine how hard that is on parents. I do hope that, as they find out more, they discover it is treatable and there is hope there. I will be thinking of them. I am so glad that your step is right (it is terrible when they are "off" and too narrow....and, by the end of the week, your driveway should be done too, right? Yes, I am glad that DH is taking over the Medicare thing...between taking care of his Medicare, my retirement, and DS 24's insurance, I am at my wit's end. He knows it and it will be good for HIM to learn more about it. Hope that you have a good day, that Rose makes it home and feels better, and that you can get in that swim tomorrow.
Carole: How did yesterday go? Feeling good about getting the week started? Did you decide on some plants?
Christine: I hope that you have a good week ahead -- time to get things done and feel on top of things. Many of our districts are starting state testing....how is it going for you?
Jenny: I hope that you had NO more accidents and are feeling more rested starting this week!
Hello to Jo, Karen, and all who follow. I need to get moving to go by DS30's to check on Lucy-cat on my way to work. Have a good day!

Jenny: Dinner Saturday sounded yummy. YAY for only 1 margarita, and no cake. UGH Yeah, 9 AM on a Saturday is early! I know, even retired, I am NOT happy with my 8:30 Saturday hair appointments! What is GSL? Is it a weight loss drug?? Yikes, that's not the WW I grew up with! Funny though... Joe's training the other night was on Ozempic! The pros/cons. etc. started quite a discussion! What bugs me about it, is he said he WILL work with clients that take it! I mean, geeze, with us - the raise our calories, if someone is on the drug, they will not be able to eat that many calories... so it seems to go against everything that he preaches every day! Almost hypocritical? One woman called him out - said Oh I get it, it's a money game! HA!
Sue: WOW - You were definitely productive yesterday! WHEW! Yes baked scalloped potatoes... I can say the oven is clean - like new - today! Yeah, my bad... I know with convection you cook at a lower temp the same amount of time - or higher temp, for less time... I combined both! LOL I usually struggle to make sure they are "done", so I put them in a little earlier and at a higher temp. I guess they were OK, I have more mashed left over than scalloped.
Today is supposed to be the best day (sunny/warm) up here. The rest of the week will be partly cloudy, so not as warm (IMHO)! Abby gave me some ideas for flowers/plants. She used to work with a huge landscaping company, so I will trust she knows what will work. I should see if I can hire her to come plant! LOL
Gabrielle: WOO HOO for a nice weather day out there!! I washed my kitchen windows yesterday, today I will power wash the screens - then I'll be set too! Then on to powerwashing a few bird nests down... HATE when they make nests under my ramp roof! GROSS! So after I powerwash DH will fill in those spaces, once and for all! No more nests up there! Once done there -I can get around to the patio side! Good for you setting work-work aside until later! Hoping you get good answers from the gastro doc tomorrow. {{{hugs}}} So glad you had a nice time at the party. Sounds different - but nice. It makes me smile, that you actually had a day OFF and enjoyed the party ♥ Yes, Saturday went well, and after doing dishes, and cleaning the oven I was able to have my Simple Sunday! Hmmm, ZONE?? LOL I had to google it! 5B! Impatiens, I used to get them in hanging baskets each year, and IF I remembered to water them, they did well. On the driveway side - the patio side is a lot of sun all day. For out front Abby suggested sunpatiens, and dragon wing begonias, mixed in with some veriegated hostas. We used to have several Hostas plants around the house - before we had everything dug up and cleaned up! I had already mentioned them to DH, now I just have to go buy them! LOL
Oh the kitchen... the other guy came last Tuesday, I think we'll go with the other company. We haven't received the 2nd estimate, but he just didn't seem to have his head in the game, so to speak! We'll see... but I don't hold out much hope.
I agree, without learning how to eat, and how not to eat, along with movement no drug in the world will keep the weight off. Oh and if you don't have diabetes, the Ozempic can cost $650 per month! (no insurance) I know there are people out there that can and will pay for it, but that's a lot of money!
Oh dear... sorry DH is still having issues with SS/MC. That's why I just paid for my mistake and had to let it go. I am thankful every day, that DH takes care of his own stuff like that! Today he has to check on a prescription refill, but it's all on him.
Sue: WOW Yeah, LONG day at the ball field. Thank goodness Jackson could just stay home! The next time we need a new fire pit, we are going gas! Less smoke, no hauling wood, just nicer to enjoy, less work! Tracy has a nice tabletop model. It's too small for us, but being hers is in a patio/courtyard, she needs it small! Oh how sad... for your friend's granddaughter!! Six kids? OYE, they do have a lot going on. Totally overwhelming for them all.
Gabrielle: Thanks for starting us off this morning. UGH, sorry about your internet and lost post! I remember those days. Fingers crossed your invisalign is ready to end!! The nightguard/retainer will be a walk-in-the-park after this tray thing, right? I need to be able to sip my coffee all morning!
Feeling very good about yesterday. Didn't get my 5k steps, but my kitchen is CLEAN, and we got in the tub before dinner, had leftovers, then upstairs for TV. I am binge watching a series, for the new season (came out 3 weeks ago)
Oh actually I just checked and our forecast has changed! WOO HOOO!!! Chance of rain Wednesday, but sunny the rest of the week! Including Sunday - which as of yesterday was supposed to be rain! That's good news - so I don't have to feel like I have to get everything done today! I have all week... better on my back! LOL
So time to get started. Only 43 out there now, but I need breakfast and can start laundry, and just get moving!
Let's ALL MAKE IT A GREAT MONDAY Ladies ♥hugs♥

Good morning ladies
I got a lot done yesterday, I got the lawn mowed and I purged some of my clothes that were old and took them up to Goodwill to donate. I got the sock drawer cleaned of the socks I don’t wear anymore, some were like brand new. I threw away all my nylons I don’t wear anymore, I don’t wear dresses anymore. I need to do my closet next weekend.
Oh the weather was beautiful yesterday, no rain like they thought and now we’re going to have a few great days today and tomorrow and then back to rain, it’s ok we need the rain so I’m not upset. We grilled steaks last night and I made broccoli salad that were no left over at all on that. Audrey really loves it.
I had a safe weekend Gabrielle, I didn’t fall down once, LOL. Glad you all had good weather for your group runs. I really want to get invisiline as well to push my teeth back together but the last time I priced them they were cosmetic and no insurance help at all. I was quoted around 5K for mine.
Carole did you get some rest yesterday after the big party? Glad you found a good kitchen guy to come in and remodel for you, when does that start? I’m happy you’re having some good weather this week. I need to call Alaska and tweak my trip soon and get that going, it will be here before you know it. I’m also thinking of extending my trip to 9/9/24 to 9/16/24, I want to see as much as I can. I can’t wait.
Ok hello to all, Karen the pictures of the wedding were pretty, they look so happy.

Evening all...crazy Monday at work as usual....Monday's usually are!! I did put in for a vacation day on Friday May 17th....this will be the last "Gym-O-Ree" for Jackson!! Every spring the Elementary schools in the district have a track/field event between the schools...it's always a fun day for 4th & 5th grades....used to be 3rd & 4th before they added 5th back into the elementary schools. It's a fun rivalry before they all join together to finish out their SWSD education!! I told Jackson I would come since it is the last we will have with him moving to middle school next year! He's excited....it's also his 11th birthday that day!! I knew Tonya had asked for time off in May but she will be back to work on Wednesday that week so the day was open for me to take!
Got the shower chair and walker dropped off for Rose and she texted a little bit ago that she found them and used the walker to actually get into the house!! Always happy to help out with things we have to make life easier.
Got word from Vonnie that the biopsy was done today as well as other tests to confirm type and stage of cancer. They are hoping for a Wilms Tumor which is a common kidney cancer in kids, rare but the most common kidney cancer in kids.....if it is stage 1 or 2 the prognosis is great and the tumor can be removed with surgery then just monitored moving forward for recurrence. It usually showed in kids younger than Irelyn, most common in girls under 5 so they are just hoping....biopsy results will take 3-5 days for final diagnosis!! Emily's sister, Kaylyn, started a private FB page to provide information and family needs....a lot easier than fielding texts, calls, etc from everyone. Praying hard for good news.
When I got home I also ordered a Fire Pit and a table w/umbrella for the back patio.....got 12 months interest free on Amazon, had to give up the Prime points but it will be much easier on the budget to spread the amount out over 12 months. Jason and I had a bit of a "go round" on Saturday about it when I said I wanted to get it furnished and ready to use by Memorial Day.....since he is NOT in charge of the finances he just sees $$ going out the window, thinking he is working this long for me to just spend but what he doesn't realize is I have been planning for this project for YEARS and I have an account that I have put a little in each pay check to finish up all these details....I could pay for it now, not touching our checking account but figured I'd take the 12 months in case we need the $$ for something else.....I wanted this addition/renovation to be done and REALLY DONE at one time....I did not want a patio or porch w/o furniture to two summers....I wanted to be able to used them this year now that they are finished! Anyway, it blew over things are ordered and it's done!!
Gabrielle....thanks for starting us off this morning. YIKES, sorry you lost another post!! Has your internet always been unreliable. Will say, we have been lucky with Comcast/Xfinity....for the longest time that was the only option out here....will say their Cable TV that we had was terrible, would drop all the time but for some reason we rarely lose internet!! Glad you got to the gym and took care of those quads after your Saturday run gave them a good work out!! Fingers crossed your Invisalign days are done and a nighttime retainer is all you need moving forward. OK?? Why did they put bumps on your teeth??? Shea never mentioned that when he had them???
Yes...VERY long day for Sarah and Kellen....since the Shepherd's Pie was done, they walked through the door, warmed it up a little and chowed down!! Everyone got showers and off to bed early.....Sarah was up and out for OT as usual. Apparently they had "optional" OT Saturday but she opted not to go.....she just wanted to get some extra sleep!!

Yes, Josh was there both days....Jason said on Saturday he was pretty civil. Kellen's first league game is Friday at 6:00pm in Abbottstown...his home field. I hope to go!! The boys did make the Championship round and came away with a 17-18 win over the other team. Bulldogs were the "home team" so they batted 2nd....they went to the bottom of the 7th (last inning) tied at 17....they had 2 outs, no one on base and the next kid hit a BOMB for a walk off homerun to win the game!! Sarah said it was back and forth the whole game and a real nail-biter!! Kellen came home happy and proud of their great season opener!!
Got home to more stone in the driveway, ready for blacktop tomorrow. Yes, the step onto the patio is perfect.....I did check at work and the steps at work are only 12 inches but I'm glad we opted for the extra 3" to make ours 15"....will be nice when you are carrying things from the table, grill, etc.....just more space to step!! Have my swim bag in the car ready for tomorrow!! Looking forward to it!! If I do plan to go to the ballgame on Friday I will hit the pool on T/W/Th this week....
LOL...yes, it will be good for Ed to learn a bit more about the MC/SS stuff....as I mentioned, I'm the one that deals with all the bills, finances, insurance, etc here and sometimes I get frustrated and overwhelmed....I've often looked a Jason and said "do you want the check book, do you want to deal with all this?"....he immediately says no!! Sometimes he makes me feel like I'm not telling him things, hiding $$, etc....but every account we have has both names on it, even the one that I've been saving in for years for the addition....he can access them any time and see what's in them but he doesn't feel comfortable with numbers and bills, insurance, etc.....he never has!!
Hi Carole....have to admit, I smiled as I read about Joe's training on Ozempic!! Yes, seems a bit hypocritical to me!! I'm glad someone called him out on it. To me the nod towards drugs in WW is also hypocritical too!! Everyone wants the easy way out! I will tell you that Tonya is on Ozempic for her diabetes but she does NOT eat as she should for being a diabetic and she hasn't lost anything.....it's not he miracle drug....if you don't make healthy changes, same as gastric bypass....if you don't make the necessary changes is your diet and exercise that doesn't work either long term....it needs to be a life long commitment to healthier choices. No, you don't have to live on this strict diet all your life...you and enjoy all those decadent treats now and then but one piece, not the 3 you used to eat....it's common sense and people need to be accountable for their part in the process!!
LOL Carole....I've done the same thing making the transition to convection with some things....will say, I still bake cookies, cakes, pies on regular bake not convection....really struggle with the baked goods!! Sounds like the scalloped turned out fine and were enjoyed!!
Carole....we are pretty steady in the mid to upper 60's all week with sun/partly sunny all week. Got showers on Saturday then next week we are in the 70's all next week with a couple 80's in the 10 day!! Glad you got some nice ideas for flowers!! PA ranges from 5a to 7b depending on where you are in the state....Hanover/Glenville is 6b/7a.....Jason is actually at the lot tonight planting onions and might have even stopped at Lehigh's to get the broccoli and cauliflower to plant.....most all the early stuff is in by end of April....tender stuff like watermelons, cantaloupes, tomatoes are closer to Mother's day.....sweet potatoes are Memorial Day!! We too have had great luck with Impatiens here.....they like shady spots usually so they are great in hanging baskets that don't usually get a lot of full sun. New Guinea Impatiens love the sun....I actually like these better!! LOL, I'm convinced, hostas will grow anywhere!! We have many of them too! I was glad many got dug up with the addition, I'm really not a fan of them!!
Carole...we had a couple guys come when we were getting estimates for our project and you're right....some just don't have their head in the game....we immediately eliminated them before we even got the estimates....one we never did get one!!
NOPE Carole....Karen and Bobby have a gas fire pit and it smells like a propane to me...to me a fire pit is wood!! Yes, more work, more mess but I love the smell and crackle of the firepit and a gas one smells like a grill and doesn't "crackle"! While the gas is easier for sure, it's not the same "atmosphere" to me!! The one I ordered is said to be smoke less, gets 4.9 rating over all and just under 2' across plus I ordered a table top to go around it....will work as a table if you are just sitting out there....Karen and Bobby have that too and it's nice because it's also a protection around the heat of the fire pit when lit. I'm hoping what I got isn't "too much" furniture for the patio but I think it will be fine!
As I was reading Carole's post about going to buy plants a text from Hannah popped in! Today she finished planting 96 marigolds in the 86 blocks cinder blocks around the garden....marigolds are supposed to deter rabbits?? In the holes w/o plants she planted marigold seeds....hopefully it will be a nice ring around the garden, just high enough that they can still step over it!! Her back hurts, her legs hurt and are sunburnt and she doesn't thing she will walk tomorrow! Took her 7 1/2 hours to fill the holds with potting soil/dirt and plant them all!! It does look nice but by body hurts for her! LOL!!
LOL...yes, Emily and Kyle have 6 kids with Irelyn being the oldest....they had Irelyn, then 2 years later, boy/girl twins, Champlin and Crimson, then 19 months later another set of boy/girl twins, Dempsey and Landry....then a "surprise" right before Kyle was to get a vasectomy, Anistyn was on her way and she is about 2!! Emily and Kyle always said they wanted 5 kids....they got a sweet "bonus"!! Right now while Kyle and Emily are in Hershey with Irelyn so since Vonnie and Joe are retired, they have all the twins....Anistyn is with Kyle's parents since they both still work part time so they are tag teaming taking care of her!! Vonnie is going crazy with book bags, homework, sports, water bottles, etc.....they had 3 girls and haven't had little ones at the house in years so they are exhausted but happy to help as Emily and Kyle struggle with the diagnosis of childhood cancer.
Carole...what show are you binging??? I need a new "binge worthy" show!
Jenny...glad you had a productive Sunday....will say that Jason and I did too....productive but even time to relax a bit!! Doesn't it feel good to purge your closet!! LOL, I tossed all my nylons a while back, they were in my dresser and I hadn't worn them in years. Even if I do wear the occasion dress, I never wear nylons.....I hate them! I purged my closet BIG TIME when Sarah moved in and I still have stuff that I was still wearing off and on back then and 2 years later, not sure I have worn some of it since....Will be time for another purge but that will be after the house is finished and I'm retired!! Hope you can enjoy some time outside enjoying the nice weather before the rains come back!! LOL, glad to hear you had a "safe weekend" w/o falls! I bought some broccoli salad at Sam's on Sunday.....it was yummy! I rarely make it because my recipe makes more than Jason and I can handle...even with Sarah and the boys here, none of them like it! The container was about 1/ 2 what I make and it was reasonably priced so I tried it!! Will definitely buy it again....tasty and cheap!!! Works for me!!
It will soon be dark so I expect Jason anytime now....he's at the lot and I'm officially a "garden widow" for the season!! No worries....after 42 years, I know how the garden season goes!!
Waves Karen, Christine, Jo and anyone else I might have missed!! Sweet dreams all....see you at some point tomorrow!
