Good morning,
Leaving soon for our run....and I am trying to be creative starting us each day but find that, at 3:30 am, I am not the most creative person--sorry about that everyone. So my dentist decided that I need a couple more trays of Invisalign....he said that one of my front teeth needs to come "down" somehow so he is going to order them. I hope that this doesn't add to the bill (which I have paid off). Insurance won't pay for it (I guess they would rather pay for dentures in the near future as my teeth were so messed up). We will see. In the meantime, I am still going to be dealing with one quick cup of coffee per day and very controlled eating times. It is going to be cooler now -- highs in the mid-60s with rain by the weekend. People are already a bit gloomy about it (we have loved our high 70s) but it is what it is, right? So Meg found out that she didn't get the house she put an offer in on...the person who got it paid $45,000 over asking price and a 15 day escrow! Sheesh! The market around here is nuts! She is looking again.... My mom was in So. CA last weekend. Her sister-in-law (her brother's sister) passed away. I think in my entire life my mom has seen her brother maybe 5 times? She really wanted to go to the service which was out in the desert of So. California (about 8 hours from here) so she flew down south and my sisters drove her there. I am glad that she got to go BUT now she is talking about selling her house again...and she wants me to take her to Eskaton to "visit" AGAIN. This will be our 5th visit to the same few "cottages" they have. I am going to meet with her and her real estate agent friend again (this will be the third time)...I guess my retirement will start off with helping my mom sell her house and move? I don't know but have to say, to be dealing with this while I am trying to train someone to take over my job and wrap up the school year is a bit much. We will see....this always seems to happen when she visits with my sisters...big thoughts and then I am helping her figure out how to do it. No point in letting it worry me though--today is the doctor's appointment where I can hopefully start getting some answers regarding my bloodwork.
Carole: Oh, I am so glad that you got some planting advice! I have never heard of "hostas"....I had to look them up. We are so dry here, I am not sure how they would do. I saw that Sue mentioned marigolds...those THRIVE here --they love the heat. I am just glad that you can start working on the outside and making it what you want...
Uh oh, I have to get moving. I will try to pop in later. Have a good day.

Jenny: You sure were productive Sunday!! Oh I have one of those sock drawers... That's my next project... cleaning our drawers and swapping winter - summer clothes. Enjoy your dry days, our rains are back tonight/tomorrow. Oh YES, 9/9 - 9/16 would allow us more time for travel! I was thinking with only 4 days we'd have to give up seeing something. Once I know for sure - we may be able to use our time share on the Cape, and hit Nantucket one full day! Keep me posted.
Sue: YAY for a May vacation day!! Fun to get a long weekend, and get to Jackson's field day. Aww, sorry Jason got snippy over the patio furniture, but glad it's over and you have ordered it. Ken was the same way last year when I was getting stuff for the new front porch. Glad Kellen had such a good day of baseball! Always a nice start to the season. LOL I'm sure you will have the perfect patio set and fire pit for your patio size. Hmmm, you'd probably be more a fan of propane, if YOU were lugging the firewood! LOL Ken will do it most of the time, but there are those times he's not here, and hauling wood is not my thing, any more!
UGH That's a lot of marigolds to plant!! Yikes! Yes we have planted them around our garden beds too. I think they also deter the deer. Good thing she is young enough to do all that planting. Great that the grandparents can pitch in with the kids. LOL I too would struggle, having to deal with all that nowadays, but would do whatever was needed. Hoping they get good news on the cancer and the upcoming surgery.
LOL I am watching "When Calls the Heart", and honestly I know I have seen all of them, but rewatching the series has reminded me of things I had forgotten. I am avoiding all posts Hallmark, until I get caught up to date.
Gabrielle: Good morning - thanks for starting us off again this morning. Hey, no worries about creative titles! Heck I could start us at noon and still not be creative!! Ken has gone to Shelburne to play Pickleball! Thank goodness for that! He's driving me NUTS this week! He has this darned COUGH, that he insists is getting better!! Trust me It.Is.Not.! Then he will hit the banks before coming home - hopefully he'll be gone until noonish! LOL Makes me think of how lucky Sue is, being a "Garden Widow" this time of year!
Sorry the dentist wants the trays to stay in longer. You'll be glad you did it, in the end. Sorry your temps are dropping again... we had frost warnings overnight (again). Yesterday warmed up temperature wise, but the wind made it unbearable to be outside! yikes, $45k over asking price?? Oh dear... seems whenever DM spends time with your sister, she decides to sell her house! Sorry you are the one it lands on. {{{hugs}}} Hopefully this is the last time you have to deal with it. Sounds like a good time to sell too! You are right... this is not a good time to have to deal with it all. Looking forward to GOOD news from the doctor today. Is it an in person visit? Or Telehealth?
Thanks, I am not much for gardening, but hoping once I get started? I used to enjoy it... and it will look better, than the "plain" front yard we have now. I think Tracy & I are getting pedis one day this week, so on my way down I will stop at the garden center and see how much $$ this will cost! I am also hoping that by having the whole front yard redone a few years ago, there won't be as many rocks, so I can actually dig holes out there.
SO it doesn't seem as breezy out today, and we are already almost 50, so today may be the day I try out the new power washer. Yesterday I ended up cleaning the headboard/bookcase of the bed. With that of course came more cleaning. In front mf where my dresser was, there was this "stain" on the floor. I think it was from hairspray over the years! So on my hands and knees, I was scrubbing that! Someday I might actually get the whole room clean all at one time! The only thing left is the shelf over the windows... lots of beach/glass things up there. Most need to be given/thrown away, some just need a good cleaning and will go back. Not today though. Someday. Next week, I will have my lemon oil and go over all the newly cleaned furniture with that! What a project!! LOL I guess this is MY retirement! One room a month? By the time I get the last one done, I'll have to go back to the first!
♥hugs♥

Evening all...soon time for me to call it a day!! Making more progress at work to feeling totally caught up but still have a stack in my inbox! Just keep saying "job security"!!
Just got a text from Hannah...Shea left less than 12 hours ago and she is in the ER with Rowan with a broken arm....fell at gymnastics!! Hannah survived 15 years w/o broken bones, Sarah 8 years with nothing broken but then again Hannah broke her arm in the back yard playing with Jason....it happens!! Kellen has broken his arm twice....each arm once....he smiled when I told him!! Hannah texted right now...he needs surgery to fix it??? Really?? Both Hannah and I broke both bones in our arms and were casted with a closed reduction...his arm did not look bad....both Hannah and I had a MUCH bigger bend in our arms?? Will find out tomorrow when they go to the Children's Hospital....they are splinting it for now!! I know medicine has changed since Hannah broke hers 34 years ago just about now....kindergarten, playing in the yard with Jason!! I broke mine 10 years ago and it was crazy how it got casted but no surgery....his arm doesn't look like growth plate so not sure why surgery???
Hit the pool today and it was tough...I totally understand why they told all the gymnasts that one week out of the gym on vacation takes two weeks to catch up!! It was tough and short but I went...that is success. I also gave the Y my CC to continue my Senior membership until I can get "Silver Sneakers" through Medicare next July....should only be 14 months!! But for us, $40/month is doable but $15 more than the "Health Ways" they dropped years ago.....I never would have left the Y had they continue to accept "Health Ways" offered by my insurance!
Gabrielle...I feel like you when I start...I have my normal "go to" starts....doesn't matter! All the good old stand-by starts work....they are all a reminder of thing we know but often need to be reminded of each week!! Bummer that you have a few more trays of Invisalign ahead of you...will say, I have a few crooked teeth but my new dentist is NOT concerned...my old dentist was getting more into the "cosmetic" side of dentistry and i was annoyed...I have had the same crooked couple of lower teeth for decades, my teeth are not sparkly white...don't care, they work. My crooked teeth don't cause an issue so I don't care. That's why I love the orthodontist the girls went to...he lived by the philosophy that each smile is unique and ours and as long as it was not causing issues...a crooked tooth is "character" and makes out smile our own and NOT perfect...each smile is perfectly our own!! His son is actually taking over his practice since Dr. Singer is my age and heading to retirement and I've heard from folks going there now...he taught his son well....it's not about the money, it's about making things functional but not taking away the uniqueness of each smile!!
Sorry Meg didn't get the house....I actually had to look twice at the amount over asking...CA is so different from PA...yes, some homes go for more than asking but it's $10,000....market is crazy here too but the interest rate has slowed things a bit...sure glad we sold the house in 2022 before things got crazy!!
Hang in there Gabrielle...sorry DM is thinking about selling the house again....sure wish she had done it when all of you were encouraging that because of the upkeep and repairs needed....have you talked to DS to see why the sudden change of heart for DM...she was adamant about staying in the house?? Hope this chapter is oon behind you!! BTW...I so think it odd that she had to attend the funeral of someone she rarely saw in many years but hard to understand the thinking of that generation sometimes!
OK...been nodding off as typing by the light of my twinkles....need to just call it a day....sweet dreams all!
