Hey gang,
Just a quick pop in. I went into work today. Good to see folks but it was a fast visit up and back. I attended a luncheon welcoming new folks to our division. Times are a'changing for sure.
DH is doing a bit better every day - thank goodness. I am nearly fully back to health. Our DS has been faithfully calling his dad at least every day to check on him and they've had good chats. DD is also texting and checking in.
Have a good day. Looking forward to seeing everyone in the cafe sometime soon.

Hello all! Seems like things have been tough for our entire crew lately. I typed a nice long post yesterday or the day before, only to have it poof and I was too discouraged to continue.
Sunday night, DH had a fall in the hallway on his way to bed. By the time I made it out of my chair and down the hall, he was lying in a pool of blood. He whacked his head on the way down and had a sizable gash over his right eye. I quickly grabbed a towel and told him to hold it over the wound while I ran for the phone and dialed 911. Our wonderful fire dept. responded within minutes with the ambulance not far behind. The fire dept. EMTs got him up and into his wheelchair, which luckily was still stashed nearby in a guest room. The ambulance drivers insisted that he go to a higher level hospital than our local clinic, so off he went and I followed in our car. Because he is on Xarelto, the chance of a brain bleed is serious. At the hospital that treated him during and after the amputation, he was seen in the ER and had a CAT scan and stitches. We were able to head back home and were back at 12:30 am. Unfortunately, I was too keyed up to sleep much and had to be up and in BTR for a periodontist appointment Monday morning. I was in a fog all day, but didn't want to nap. I managed to get several household chores and 4 loads of laundry done while trying not to nap.
I am happy to report we are both doing better. DH was able to work in his garden today and I have had private workout sessions with my Pilates instructor Tuesday and today, attempting to get some muscle strength back prior to rejoining a Pilates class. DH will have stitches removed after a week or so. Maybe now he will follow my advice to have his prosthetic adjusted, as I have noted he is not as steady on his feet as he was.
The past couple of days have been very busy with a badly needed hair appointment, credit union meeting, pedicure (I can now wear sandals!), hospice volunteer appreciation luncheon and Mass & healing adoration with a talk from a man who survived massive heart and circulatory issues and had a near-death experience. I still seem to be catching up on Sunday night's missed sleep. I slept 10 hours Monday night, 9 hours Tuesday night and 8 1/2 last night. My rib pain is nearly gone which, per my PCP, indicates my rib bowed and popped, but didn't break at all, thank God! I have attended two exercise classes since then and worked on arms, legs and some core with no problem. Tonight, it is no longer sore to the touch, a big improvement.
Tuesday, Callie, my (our) cat apparently got in a tussle with another animal and sustained some injury to her leg and back. She came in crying and barely able to use her leg to walk. I could see a puncture on her leg and laceration (and saliva) on her upper back. Callie recovered quickly after a day of rest, even without a visit to the vet. Her wounds are no longer visible. There has been a cat who "visits" occasionally and today DH confirmed it is probably the culprit. He observed Callie's sister, Sadie attack and run the stray off our property while Callie watched. Hopefully, that problem is solved.
I was so sorry to hear that all of you have had some serious health issues. I hope all of you are on the mend now. My advice is to take it easy and get medical help if things don't improve in a timely manner. I treasure all of you after so many years and want everyone to recover asap. Know that y'all were all in my prayers at the healing adoration tonight.
My weight is still on the high side but I am hoping that being able to exercise again will help. I am resolved to get back to daily walks, with or without Deb, who seems to be very busy these days. I haven't heard much from her since her return from Europe. Last but not least, I asked Abby how her softball game went on Saturday. "Good" was her answer. I asked if she played well and got, "Yes ma'am" and the same when I asked if they won. Later, DD1 posted on FB: Abby had 3 good hits, including a double and a couple of RBIs. She caught a fly ball for the first out of the game (she's the catcher) and threw a runner out at first for the last out. Her team got second place in the tournament. I'm thinking she's a little too modest, lol.
I hope everyone of us is on the mend now. God bless all of us and give us the strength to continue on.

Hi friends,
Pam, I was glad to see your note today - not glad to hear about your DH's fall. As you said, let's pray that we three strong women can help these men and stay healthy ourselves. I appreciate your thoughts and prayers. What a scare you had and I am glad all is going better now. Hope the prosthesis gets adjusted soon. For better or worse...takes on more meaning than ever these days.
I love Abby's modesty. Pretty sweet of her and it shows a whole lot of confidence not to have to boast. She must be quite the little athlete. Fun to watch her play, I am sure. I remember our DS was a bit like that. He started running x country in middle school. I was working full time and didn't get to as many meets. I find out from the coach and other parents that he was apparently the top runner and setting a few records. So funny as he never mentioned a thing at age 11 or so. Kids - he played baseball and hockey and was a good athlete, too. Still plays in a men's hockey league a couple nights a week at 35 yrs old now.
I am now reading Stephen King's book Holly. Even though he is a "horror" writer, I like his style of writing and this one is a little of both mystery and horror, I guess. He draws the readers right in and it is a good escape these days. My reading interests are all over the map - most anything well written!
Pam, I admire your resilience and getting right back into the exercise and routine. So good to keep on with all our healthy habits. I hope to get out with Daisy today - sunny and cool but nice. I am going to to to WW in person workshop tomorrow am if possible.
I was at BJs Wholesale Club briefly yesterday and picked up DH's favorite meal there - a beef pinwheel stuffed with spinach and cheese. He is not a big eater, and they are often out of these delicious steaks, but his eyes lit up when I brought it home so I am glad his appetite is back.
I loved your closing sentence, Pam. May we all have strength and return to health...
TTFN Judy

Happy Saturday, WW Friends ~
It was good to hear from all of you, and so much news! We have been busy as I am getting ready to return to work 9at school) on Monday. I had to go to my PCP Friday and also processed my Return To Work paperwork. I plan to return on Monday.
DH and I made a Meijer run yesterday morning. Then we went to Secretary of State and got my Handicapped parking tag. I can now park closer to the school building.
We ordered a small pizza and medium garden salad for supper yesterday. I haven't had much appetite recently, but all in all am feeling somewhat better.
Make a great day! BBL.

Glad to hear you are both on the mend, Sue. We are getting better day by day. I have a few lingering symptoms and my DH is gaining strength every day.
Sunny but cool today. I walked Daisy a bit and have done some household chores - laundry, tidying if up etc.
I’m going to go to my “new” church tomorrow- my mom’s church - if I’m up to it.
I’ll check in later and good to see everyone!

Today is our DGS's 5th birthday! Hard to believe it is already five years since the little guy came into our lives full of optimism and smiles. He truly keeps us on our toes! Off to give him a call now. BBL
