Morning All!
Emily so sorry to hear about Ed and your nephew. Will Ed have to do anything special other than meds? I’m wondering Cardiac rehab, diet etc. I know how close you both are – it must have been really scary for you (him too of course).
Connie, I had some tile issues a year or two back and lost my shower access for about two weeks. I hated it! I think between the tv and the shower, the shower would be most traumatic. Glad it has been resolved and it sounds like the electricity is going to be fixed as well. You’ve got great relatives, and talented too!
Lin, sounds like things are winding down for you and DH on the doctor visits. Maybe now, you can relax and chill a bit before the surgery. I used to think having all my Dr. visits in the same month was a good idea – just get them over with. Now not so much, they were such a downer and made me so aware of my vulnerability, that they became more of a problem than a solution. I’ve been spacing them out lately and it seems to make things more “normal”, if that’s possible. I do realize that you are managing appointments for two – you and DH – that would be really overwhelming…..
My cleaning lady has gone back to Brazil for an indefinite period of time, leaving me with her assistant – a sweet girl and her friend. They’ve been servicing me for the last month and I am noticing basic things are not getting done, the way my regular lady would do them – sort of skipping over some of the important stuff. If they are coming again in two weeks, I am going to have to address the issues and I don’t know how that is going to play out. Yesterday they dusted and vacuumed OK, but did not wash down the kitchen floor or clean the lower edge of the shower where mold builds up. There is a thin dark line around the edge of the foot tray in the shower that really skeeves me out. This is one of the reasons I got a cleaning lady to begin with. I couldn’t get it clean myself. They speak very little English, so this conversation could be interesting. I know it sounds picky, but keeping the house clean is really important to me.
My niece came to visit yesterday – the deaf one, who lives with my SIL. She recently got a job at a local Stop and Shop and is loving the community she works in. Apparently, this store hires and supports people with disabilities and have accommodated extra training to make her feel more comfortable in doing her job. She’s on partial disability so she can only work part time, but it seems enough for her at the moment. She helped me hang some pictures I had and sat and talked with me for about an hour. A pleasant afternoon.
I need to go out – do some local chores this morning. After that I’m coming home and steam mopping the kitchen floor. Cant stand looking at it.
Wishing all a really pleasant day!
