Hello friends.
Shragae FL..April Showers Sandy IL..Wanting Spring Warmth Lin AZ..Spring Allergy Lucy TX..Enjoying the Warm Sunshine Nancy IL..Watching Flowers Grow Connie PA..Pulling Winter Weeds Kathie CA..The Spring Gardener Betty MN..Flowers in Bloom Diane OK..New Routines to Health Mollyann MO..
Hope you have all had a good day. I am still dealing with the fatigue related to Covid. Feel pretty good right now but very sleepy earlier in the day. Guess that's pretty normal in the recovery process.
Shragae, how do you get rid of fire ants? I have heard of them but don't know that they're ever a problem around here. Do their bites burn? Guess I wouldn't want to deal with them either.
Diane, how nice of your grandson to bring you breakfast. I rarely see my grandkids. They don't live that far away but really only one of that visits me regularly. He usually will bring me a DQ treat when he comes.
It has been raining off/on most of the day here. Not heavy rain like they predicted, mostly a drizzle. Did drive myself to the library this afternoon. Had a book in that I had put on hold and needed to talk with the librarian about another one that I was looking for. Got my living room and kitchen dry swiffered and some of it wet swiffered. My grocery order came about noon and it was all there except for one item so I had to call about that . Hoping each day gets a little better. Have a good day. bettyj

Happy Saturday!
My name for May -- Daisy
We still have storm watches in the area, and the air feels heavy with the humidity. It is 71º right now, and who knows what our high will be? Springtime!
Linda, fire ants bite and it isn't pleasant! I'm glad you don't have them. They have moved up into southern Oklahoma, and may migrate further north this year.
Lucy, I really like the photo. A peaceful Saturday sounds like a winning idea!
Today, we'll meet DGS for brunch. He lives in NYC, so we grab all the time with time we can while he is in town.
This evening, DH will cook burgers on our George Foreman grill, and we'll bake some fries in our countertop oven. Yummy!
Have a lovely, relaxing weekend!
Diane

Not me! I think Betty asked. We sure do have fire ants in AZ. They git into a neighbor's lawn and swarmed up DH's leg making him fall as he frantically brushed them off. Those bites hurt a lot for quite a while and blister. They hang in for over a week. They can get infected, and the stuff in the bite will make you sick if you get enough bites. He had to go to Dr and get ointment and antibiotics.
there is a granular substance you can spread that they take to the hive. But I cannot put it where dog woukd get it.
even regular ants here have nasty bites. I am currently using Terro bait under a heavy flower pot so Minni can it get it, although it would just cause stomach upset. Takes a long time because the hives under lawns are big!

I put out fire ants poison. All they do is move over. The sting used to be terrible but I guess I have built up immunity. I hate that we don't have red ants anymore. Occasionally there will be a bed then it is gone bye bye.

Guess the fire ants don't like our cold here in Pa. I know I saw them in Florida and almost did get into them but knew better. I was weeding out my Mom's rock garden. She did have some stuff to put on them but don't know if that worked or not. Didn't finish the job. LOL We got a big rain storm early this morning did wake me up but I like listening to it. Didn't hear any thunder or lightning but rain sure came down in sheets.
I have plans for later today. Going to Olive Garden tonight with some family. Should be fun, haven't done that in long time with the Grandson and DGD inlaw both having Covid. we do have to drive to Ohio but DD will pick me up. Not sure of the time yet so will just get ready, in case they want to do something at Menard's first. Some days nice to have no plans but I am happy about today. Been awhile.
This in between temps off and on is hard to know what to wear and I really don't have much in that line. Mostly just winter and summer not much spring stuff. Did order a couple of new blouses from Gloria Vanderbilt online. guess better dig out capris pretty soon. My one friend wears them all year around and they do look a bit weird in winter.!! Just saying.
Sandy, is it cold and rainy there? It is 60° here and sun is out a bit right now but more rain expected off and on.
Just heard from DD, picking me up at 4pm so no shopping first, maybe afterwards.

Connie: Yes, you got my name right! We have red ants here too but I diligently put the killer down when I see their holes and the ranch manager does so too since we are almost 10 acres I just do the front near where I live. Sorry I missed your tuck in last night. I was wiped out. All the guns went bye bye today with Jim's DS. My DS put them in my car and I snuck the keys to him and he left so his dad tho't he was gone and then came back thru a different gate and got them all. The one he was worried about being in the bedroom was in the pile and the one Jim thought was missing was there too. I feel much better. He does have collectible knives so they are in his basket in front of his scooter. But, I don't think that is a problem. Hope you all have a great day....it was a bit chilly here but since the sun came out it is up to 70 already. It has been drizzling during the night so I have not had to water anything.

Long day.....
Tucking you in now in our newest blanket. It looks like a nice bright sunny Spring day and our doggies are all playing together. We are sitting around them watching them play. I guess when the adults all love each other the doggies do too.....Sweet dreams!
