The owner of the plumbing business called at 10:30 saying he had a break between appointments so was on his way with the more powerful compressor and larger hose. He was here about 45 minutes letting it run and when it stopped he was very happy with the water flow. It will be interesting to see how much the bill will be but it will be worth it and lower than if the old pipe had burst!
Then last night I got an e-invite to a bridal shower for our DGS’s fiancée and had to give regrets as it will be a few weeks after the graduations and to go back down to Missouri and then go back in August for the wedding would have just made it too many trips there. But I did get on their registry and ordered an item on their list. It was pretty cool as a lot of what they registered for is on Amazon and since I’m a prime member I got a discount along with free shipping. I had asked Fred what he thought was reasonable to spend and he said around $100 and I found a very fancy deep fat fryer they wanted that was a little over $60 so got them that.
This morning I will be doing laundry and clean the bathroom while Fred is golfing. He thought it was going to rain during the night but it didn’t. I thought I heard raindrops but I discovered when I took Rosie out this morning it was just those helicopters that float and fly around and they were everywhere. Not sure if they come from trees or what but never saw so many.
Our new neighbor has a little Yorkie mix that is adorable and she named him Benji and is a year old. Well he loves to run and they don’t have a fenced in yard and Rosie started barking and then Fred saw a police car stopped and people were running around trying to catch something and I saw it was Benji! I went out and the policeman was out there stopping cars coming down the street so he wouldn’t get hit. When I came out they all asked if he was mine and I said no but I know who he belongs to and his name is Benji. All of a sudden I heard the neighbor calling his name and he went right to her. She said she was cleaning out her garage and had told her two kids to put him in the house and keep an eye on him and I laughed and said oh and they really paid attention, right? She had been pretty upset but when I said that she laughed as well saying my fault as I should have put him in the house myself! But no harm as he was safe and we thanked the officer for his help. But I did get a laugh at the kids excuses for not getting him in the house. I think the best was the little girl saying I didn’t have my shoes on and my feet got itchy so I had to scratch and he ran away while I was doing that!

Good Morning Friends!
Today I am going to Rock & Brews for lunch by the outlet mall. I plan to leave a little early and walk around a bit before lunch. After lunch I will go to Costco, since it is also right there. Tonight is Yarn Club.
Mike will be home from Old Town today around noon. He only goes up there for a few days at a time. It is only a few hours away.
Sandy, Glad Benji was safe. It is funny how kids say the darndest things!

Good morning. What a lovely day yesterday! My son invited me to go to the beach with his friends. We wound up at a place called Peacock Beach in Cocoa Beach near Cape Canaveral. We were shocked as we went down a small neighborhood street to see a peacock in someone's driveway! There were many peacocks so this beach lives up to its name. The beach itself was absolutely beautiful. The sand is almost as white as the beaches on the west coast of Florida. There were some people walking along but really not that many people out there... Sam and his friends were thoughtful enough to bring beach chairs and we just have a lovely time. Today I'm actually going to Costco for about the first time in a year LOL. I'm looking forward to that too but for now it's time for coffee and the morning walk. Enjoy your day. Wordle 1,048 3/6 ⬛🟨🟨🟨🟩 🟩🟩🟩⬛🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

Good morning friends. I’ve started laundry but will go with Don to DD’s and be there while he sizes a room for wallpaper. We both feel at our age we should not be on a ladder alone. Tomorrow DD takes off work and the two of them will wallpaper.
Shagrae it’s so delightful you were invited to go to the beach with Sam and his friends.
The cat usually gets me up in the morning. Or the sunlight through the blinds if it’s late enough. I usually wake up happy and look forward to coffee and my walk. I’m happiest when I lay in bed and realize I get to stay home that day. Yes, I’m a homebody.
Ruth do you have any information or references to the vagus nerve? My mind has been sorting out random information about my possible “sensory neuropathic cough”. I go to Springfield later this month to see an expert.

I basically have nothing to report this morning. I am totally enjoying this gentle thunderstorm. Slight thunder, no wind and very little lightening. Slow gentle rain for about 2 hours so far. Haven’t been out to check gauge but water is standing on my rock driveway even though it is a slight hillside. Haven’t seen that for much over a year. Everything looks so bright and green. Only wish my fertilizer was on the bare spots in yard instead of in bag sitting on the golf cart. Not sure how long it will last but not much out work at least this morning. Do hope to clean inside of car in garage. Rob said last night I should get a small grill, hummm, wonder what that would be.
My two little humming birds are ver comfortable both setting on bird feeder at same time. I am amazed as usually they are combative towards each other. They just set there hunkered down. Haven’t seen an Oriole yet. No feeder out today, yet anyway. Do have a get well card for mailbox but could wait another day.
QOTD: What gets you up in the morning? Not much other than feeling guilty for just lying there. Unless I have somewhere to go.
Which activities do you most look forward to? Being outside piddling around or going to my group meetings.

Good afternoon all.

It's going to be in the mid 80s today so I turned the AC on around noon. We probably won't need to run it tomorrow since it will be back in the mid 70s.
Sandy, glad to hear your plumbing issues are resolved.
Ruth, have a wonderful lunch today.
Shragae, how fun seeing peacocks just walking around! They're such a beautiful bird.
Sharon, My Molly used to wake me up wanting to be fed. She would poke me in the face until I finally got up! I miss that sweet little cat.
Karen E, I haven't seen any hummingbirds yet but I know they have to be around. I was waiting to put the feeder up until I saw them, but I think I'll put it up this weekend and see if it attracts them.
QOTD: What gets you up in the morning? Which activities do you most look forward to?
AOTD: 1. My bladder. 2. Being with family doing anything.

Vicki your 1. answer is funny, but not funny. I got a chuckle. You know, you mention Molly lovingly many times. I think you need another kitty. Shelters have lots of them needing a loving home, especially older cats.
Don was finished with the wall sizing in the morning. I was bored but did play with Ziggy the chiquaqua. He loves to play chase and keep away. We stopped for lunch before going home. Once home I worked on laundry. I planted a couple of flowers from our nursery trip. I bought two dahlias, never had them before.

Yippee Kia we so far have gotten 2.4 inches or rain today all slow and gentle, no storm of any kind. Not sure if more tonight but this weekend. Makes me feel better about my trees.

QOTD: What gets you up in the morning? Which activities do you most look forward to? The excitement of a brand new day. It doesn't matter if I have a ton to do or nothing planned. I look forward to it all. I am happy to be alive! Tomorrow Mike's carpel tunnel surgery is at 7 am so we will be out the door at 6:30. I am tired just thinking about being up that early. I plan to take my knitting and a book. It is outpatient but by the time he is prepped and into surgery I assume it may take a few hours. Lunch at Rock & Brews was delicious! I had glazed salmon and broccoli. Lunches were just $12 and included a drink. They had lots of lunch entrees to choose from! I went to Aldi's before lunch and Costco after lunch. Has anyone bought a rotisserie chicken at Costco lately? They changed the packaging. It now comes in a bag. The good news is that it is a 75% reduction in plastic use. The bad news is that it is a freaking greasy mess! And not really very sanitary. I am not sure I will continue buying them. I was able to grab some paper towels and a box before I left or I never would have got it home safely. I don't know if you heard this on the news, but not far from us one of our friends had her lanai broken into by an alligator and it ended up in her pool. Sharon, I just looked it up, and yes, dysfunction of the vagus nerve can trigger coughing. The vagus nerve is responsible for the development of the cough reflex, which is part of the autonomic nervous system. The vagus nerve's sensory neurons travel from the lungs to the respiratory center in the brainstem medulla, where higher cognitive centers interpret the sensory information and cause voluntary and involuntary motor responses like coughing. I had no idea. I am sure you will get some answers from the specialist in Springfield. Good luck!
Shragae, Your visit to Peacock Beach sounded lovely! In different areas around here we see peacocks. There is a restaurant called The Mustard Seed we went to last year. There was a pond next to the restaurant and we saw 4 peacocks just roaming around. We have also seen them at various parks, but not lately.

Good evening! We had perfect weather all day. I did a lot of extra walking around. 9000 steps.
I had a good, full Thursday. I went to pick up the new catalog from the university branch near us. I have enjoyed their classes.
It was the gym after that. I did some cardio for 1/2 hour, then we had an hour class with TRX. I feel so good after I work out.
The last activity was Trivia Night, at which we did pretty well. Maybe in the top third. I knew a lot of the answers this time. Sometimes I know nothing.
Cute story about the kids and Benji, Sandy!
AOTD: What gets you up in the morning? My bladder for sure. But sometimes Sunny nudging my head. Which activities do you most look forward to? I relish my cup of tea and breakfast in the morning. I don't always get to eat a full breakfast because there is often 'stuff' going on. On those days I might have a Premium Chocolate Protein drink from Costco. I also look forward to reading the news and doing some online puzzles before I start my day.
DGKs East Coast just got home from Univ of Alabama. I love those kids. We laughed a lot catching up on the phone. One day this week some pro-Palestinian protestors appeared on campus at their school, the Univ of Alabama, chanting and a group of sorority and fraternity members got out there and starting singing 'God Bless America.' They cooled the protests down. Good for them!
Peacocks are beautiful birds, Shragae. So lovely to be invited to go with Sam and friends.
Karen E, yay for the rain!
My impatiens are doing great so far. I want to get some more outdoor plants.
"See" you all tomorrow.

Very full busy, day. Started at the pool, 60 minutes of my ‘solo water aerobics/swim’. Met good friend and drove us to Plymouth, home of the famous rock. It’s about 20 miles south of the Y. She had a gift cert. for a lovely restaurant so we enjoyed a delicious lunch. Once home, the littles arrived and wanted to play T Ball so we did for an hour. Committed to my lung health I also walked 60 minutes on my treadmill. All rings closed, 657 calories burned, 10,389 steps. I feel good!
Yes, my bladder or the daylight streaming through the curtains awakens me. I’m anxious to get to the pool, steam and jacuzzi. Like Vicki, anything with family is special.
Shragae how special to be included with Sam’s friends. Our Mother’s Day reservation includes one of my DSs best friends. His mother passed away so he is part of our family activities often. How special to see peacocks!
Sandy thank goodness Benji is okay. That would have been a very sad day for those DKs.
Jane I hope you make it to the pool soon. So glad your med is working. Glad you found a good Neurologist. LDH had a great one in Naples, Dr Vickers.
Karen E such a pretty hat and so creative.
Gail you’ve really got back in the swing with your workouts. So awesome!
Sharon I do hope you get some answers in Springfield about your cough! Wonderful that you’re able to be more active.
Joan I hope DH is doing okay. His work with the Fire Dept though commendable is certainly risky!
Sleep tight all!

Good evening ladies. I hope everyone is well.
Marlo, DH is in a lot of pain, but they said nothing is broken. Yes, fire dept. work can be very risky. As volunteers, the guys and gals do what must be done and are on call 24/7/365 a year. He has no idea how he fell getting up in to the truck, but was extremely lucky to not have any serious injuries. We were in the ER from 10:30 PM Wednesday until 8:15 AM on Thursday. I was so tired when we got home this morning, that I had a hard time trying to settle down and sleep. I slept for @ an hour and am very tired tonight. As I mentioned last night on the thread, one of the ladies in the dept. is an ER doctor. She said she didn't think it was broken or dislocated and they confirmed that though his paperwork does mention there "could be" a hairline fracture and he should see his own doctor as a followup. The APRN he had was awesome. Young lady, 32 yo with a 3 yo son. She's from White Plains NY which is just over the state line to CT. Her parents moved to TN also and her Mom used to work as the Global PR/Marketing person for Ethan Allen Furniture in CT. She told us that she and her husband who was 42 moved here for his employment. He was the ER Pharmacist, but he died 4 months ago from cancer. She was a lovely young lady and spent a lot of time with us while we waited for his Xrays to be read. She told us how the hospital usually has 2 or 3 people on duty at night to read CT Scans and Xrays. This is for the main hospital and 6 smaller hospitals in the area that are all part of the main hospital. Last night there was only 1 person to do all the CT Scans and Xrays. She was frustrated that there was such a long delay for results. She and the nurse he had were excellent and so apologetic for the long wait to get his results. By 11:30 PM, they had already had him in an ER room and had done the xrays, so it was a very long night.
Wishing everyone a great Friday. It's actually Friday now and I need to get to bed. Hopefully I can sleep tonight. DH is asleep in the recliner and will stay there as he can't really move around too much.
