We are committed to making positive and permanent lifestyle changes.
Success isn’t always measured at the scale.
Each day, think about the positive actions that you made the day before and identify the challenges you are working on.
Anyone with a positive commitment to the program can join.
If you are the first one to post each week, please copy, paste and get us started.
If you choose, pose the Question of the Day (QOTD) that solicits constructive ideas for following the plan.

Good Sunday evening, positive peeps 🐥 🐥 !
Yes I DID: —Shop for a new dryer for Old House. Old one was 20 years old & repair cost would have been too much. —a long neighborhood walk, enjoying flowers. I managed to go almost 4 miles & made it home before the T-storm —sleep pretty well, for a change
Yes I CAN: —aim for good sleep again —focus decluttering on basement of Old House to make room for haul out and delivery of dryer

Good Thursday morning, positive peeps 🐣🐣!
Oh, I'm feeling very lonely on the thread....hope all is well with all of you in your busy week! Cathy, enjoy time with daughter. Jan, get ready for that brand new knee! Sally & Nat, I hope you are enjoying your activities. Janet, I am still sending you love and light, and really do hope you return to the thread, even if just to say hi.
This has been quite an expensive few weeks for Old House. It now has a brand new water heater and in a few days will have a brand new clothes dryer. In the process of getting the basement ready to have dryers moved in and out of the building, it meant finally working on the cleanup. With lawn guy's help, I cleared out a bunch of junk, moved the tenants' pile of stuff to a location away from the doorway, so that there's a clear path to move the appliances, and have begun cleaning the cement floor, one section at a time. It feels like progress, for a task that has been hanging over my head for awhile. Progress, not perfection, right? LOL
Yes I DID: --enjoy a nice long walk at the former golf course, perfect weather & sightings of a family of deer with several little babies --sleep pretty well. An ongoing challenge... --enjoy fresh strawberries with my oatmeal. Not local ones yet, but at least they are sweet.
Yes I CAN: --get outside for more exercise today, before it gets hot (80s). --declutter my own house! --wind down early.....it does make such a big difference to my body, mind, and spirit! I suspect our recent habit of later and later dinners has been contributing to the poor sleep for both Rick and me.
Be well! Carol

Hiya Canners! Carol-Hurray for old house basement clean out ( but sorry for the appliance expenses)- that house feels like part of our message thread! I did read about your low WW energy- and am in the same boat! I hope the summer gives you renewed commitment ( and me too-needing renewed commitment)!
Today I am also representing Jan- who texted from her more comfortable chair, that she is coming along- not so much pain but discomfort and really has to push herself to keep healing/walking. New knees are a big deal! She hopes to be able to sit at the computer and represent herself with Canners soon!
Me... healthy and fine, no chaos, an easy June EXCEPT...I am eating in a ridiculous old Sally way- which feels kind of miserable, and yes the scale shows it. I am sure it is about emotion eating- maybe boredom- which is a new experience for me. I am hoping that a quick Detroit trip this weekend, and a study trip to Oaxaca mexico at the end of June will help me reboot...and yet...I don't want travel to be the only thing that brings me pleasure! I'll check in more often!
I hope Cathy that you are enjoying your family visit- and Nat- hope all is well! Sorry that we lost Janet as part of our check in crew! !
YES I CAN>>> get a grip on food choices and portions!!!

It was busy this past almost two weeks. Our daughter had an agenda and we stuck to it. Two museums, meals to prepare or eat out, cleaning, gardening, late night chats, two winery wine tastings, and a whole lot more. She is home now after a 36 hour return trip with many hours of delay. I am relaxing and getting back on track again.
Yes I did have fun Yes I can and will get back to tracking and will include exercise too.

Yes I Did have an OP day that saw a drop on the scale at weigh-in this morning Yes I Can add another OP day today. I also plan to walk some while reading
It is in the mid nineties today so we have closed up the house and have fans on. My husband is watering the garden - he brought in the first cucumbers of the year. Lunch will focus on eggplant as we have two medium sized ones. I will probably peel, cube, salt a bit, and cook in the microwave then mash it to make baba ganouj OR put the cubes on rice or bulgur and top with a garlic-yogurt sauce that I will add a tbsp of tahini to.
BOOKS: I had less time to read while Rabia was here. I finished the Jill Shalvis book before she arrived. Managed to sneak in The Love Shack by Lori Foster while she was here. Read The Lady's Last Mistake by Cara Devlin the day after she left. Read parts of a new series by Nichole Severn that I couldn't relate to and seemed to beggar belief as the main character was an FBI agent sent to her home town to consult on a case that was a copycat killing of murders her father was accused of and sent to jail for. She thinks he is innocent, people in town treated her badly all the way through as if she was the serial killer, she was more of a super-hero that was able to withstand beatings and such, hold grown men up after they were shot, skewer a man larger than herself with one arm out of commission...and the twist at the end had someone supposedly dead for years suddenly alive. Did not read all of it. Started a book by Patricia Rice and she is always fun to read. Will finish it today and then move on. Oh...also read the fourth book and judged it for the KORU Awards...really enjoyed that one.

Good Saturday morning, positive peeps 🐥🐣🐥!
Cathy - glad your daughter made it home safely after that grueling 36 hour trip! Oh, and cucumbers sound so nice and refreshing for a hot day. We are also about to have a heat wave here in W NY state, several days of 90+ temps are coming next week....so I am enjoying this lovely weekend in the comfy range, will try to get out for long walks on the trails.
Sally!!! - so good to see you and thanks for the update for Jan. What kind of study will happen in Oaxaca ? I'm intrigued...
Yes I DID: --survive yet another 1/2 day wasted straightening out a glitch with the dryer order for Old House. New one will take several days more for delivery. Thankfully, the old one is still somewhat usable 'though it has no heat. --enjoy last cello lesson of the term, no lessons until Sept. Teacher gave me some extra time at the lesson so I could make some progress on my own during the summer --squeeze in a 25 min. brisk walk before dinner, trying to get back into my daily walks, so far so good.
Yes I CAN: --work on garden today, mild weather --aim for better sleep habits (i.e., earlier dinners, less screen time before bed) --stay positive!
Be well! Carol
