Good morning. Had rain overnight, 64 now, with rain gone, high of 84.
Robin, I decided last night that the kitchen set is going to wait till after I am back at school. Wayfair was one of the first places I browsed online and was not happy with prices. With Biden saying prices have gone down, I think that is his dementia talking, as I have not seen lower prices on anything, including small dining sets. Sorry about your DH going through dehydration. Good thing he had an appointment. I will have to remember that about the Tylenol, and Motrin. Would a generic ibuprofen work instead of the Motrin? I do hope he will be up to going to Boston, although you are running out of time, to see if he can.
Pinky, I am going to take your advice and wait on the furniture. I have gotten too frustrated, that now I just do not care about it. Kids are made to bounce back so quick and easy, aren't they? You will blink and that cast will be off, and it will be a memory. Wow, about the birthday party being at your house. I hope you take that as a compliment. But I also hope they help out as much as possible. Otherwise, it sounds like fun, and we all know you would do anything for your sisters.
Gareth, 53 years, amazing!! How was the takeout meal? Did you have leftover brownies as the dessert? I had to buy a brownie at Kwik Trip when I stopped there the other day, (they have the best ones!) and wow, they are good. Nice that you are giving the car away and keeping it in the family. Thanks for reminding me, that I left an order in the cart on Amazon, I need to submit that.
Marsha, I feel a tiny bit bad for having Tony do all that work installing the curtain rods, them giving him his walking papers, but that is just the predicament I am now in, with my life, with no male in it. He did get a good meal out of it, so there is that. How wonderful about the friend meet up! And then possibly seeing her again.
Carol, BB&B was the first web site I went to, when I started looking, as I love that store. So disappointed when they closed here. From all the places I have shopped online, they all seem to have the same price points. I may start haunting the resale shop I love, since I have more time on my hands now, but otherwise, I really am fine with waiting till I go back to work. I still have a lot of wall decor to hang, that is starting to get on my nerves, seeing it all sitting on the side of the living room, waiting. I am so sorry about your friend. You all have my thoughts and prayers.
Anngie, I would not ask my DSIL to put together a table set, as he just naturally does not run in any gear but, (in my opinion) slow gear. First it would take him weeks to get here, then weeks to put it all together, but don't tell DD I said that, lol!!! That is one of the reasons I want to find a set at the resale shop, as it would be put together. I had the same advice a few years ago, about my eyes and cataracts, as you the other day. But my time has somewhat run out. I know I could put it off a year, but I do not like how my vision is for night driving, and even during the day, it is not as sharp as it should be.
The cataract surgeries are scheduled for next month. Now I need to talk to DD, to take me to both surgeries. The nice thing is the place I am going is somewhat in her neighborhood. At least with that, I will be all done by the time school starts.
Very nice early morning: I wanted to take a walk, but it is supposed to get muggy soon, so don't know if I can beat that.

Karen, they are saying that some food prices are starting to come down, which I really am not seeing, but DH brought up a very good point yesterday. Most things are imported, and with the Port of Baltimore being a major port of entry, I am sure the scrambling to get things in elsewhere, and the shortages of some items have an effect on prices. His car lease is coming up soon. He decided he wanted to try an electric car, but not an expensive one, and he didn't like the Tesla. He also doesn't want an SUV, which basically leaves one car, a Hyundai Ioniq. There are none available anywhere. He doesn't have to rush with this, and they now just opened the Port again, so we'll see.
Karen, you making that decision about Tony is his own fault. If he came and told you that he was not going to see that other woman, then that would be different. I realize now that you hadn't talked about him for a while, the saying he was busy, so knowing, was he busy seeing this other woman? That would drive me nuts, and not something I would want to deal with. Even if as friends, it still isn't.
We have 2 crazy things going on at work, so I really have to get in early.

Karen, you have nothing to feel guilty about with Tony. Like you said he got a good meal out of it. We enjoyed our lunch. Takeout from that restaurant is always good. Gotta check out Kwik Trip's brownies next time I'm there. Is there someone at that resale shop that can keep an eye out for you for a dining set?
Robin, I've forgotten the reason for your Boston trip this weekend.
Carol, so sorry about your friend.
Muggy in the 70's already this morning for our walk. Nice breeze so it was still nice walking. Severe storms possible this afternoon.
Thanks everyone for the anniversary wishes. Still hard to wrap my mind around the fact that we've actually been married that long.

Karen - I didn't know that Kwik Trip brownies are good. I'll file that under facts I don't need to know! We frequently have their donuts in our lunch room at work as the night guys seems to run there for snacks. It is very muggy out. It was ok when I left for the Y at 6am but by the time I came home around 7:30 it was uncomfortable outside.
Robin - how are you and dh feeling today? I'm so glad it was "only dehydration" and not something more serious.
Hi Gareth.
This morning I did the weight workout in the free weight room where the "scary intimidating large men" workout. I don't know why I was hesitant to go there, there were only 3 and they are so busy looking at themselves in the mirrors that they probably don't notice anyone else is there, and we are certainly not fighting for the weights since I'm using the lightest weights and they are lifting buildings. I still find this boring and by the last few sets I'm ready to be done even though it doesn't really take that long. Dinner was leftover pasta from the night before. Tonight will be split pea curry. i haven't made that in a long time and it was on the menu from when dbil was coming (no meat, chicken, fish, beans, a little dairy). DD is coming in next weekend because she has to take her car in and also made an appointment with the orthodontist to have her permanent retainer reglued. so she won't come in for Father's Day and we'll go out for dinner for "Parents Day" next weekend. I'll ask dh if there is something he wants to do for Father's Day since he made a point of doing something for me for Mother's Day.

Our humid day has moved your way. We didn't get thunderstorms right here but some south and north of us. Hail was the damage in the storm for both south and north and we did reach 90. Today is cooler and we are getting a nice light rain this morning with temps near 80 as a high.
Karen---glad that you got the cataract surgery scheduled for when you want it done so you won't miss any work.
Robin---glad that your DH didn't have to be readmitted. How is he doing today? I am like Gareth I am not sure what you are going to Boston for either. How are you doing today after your fall?
Gareth---Glad you enjoyed your anniversary lunch. I enjoyed seeing the pictures and video of your DH and DS's trip and the welcome home gathering. What a memorable trip for them.
Marsha---nice that your DD will be visiting. I just remembered that I think that I heard of a shooting possibly last weekend in Madison WI----and I thought of your DD as I think that is where she is at----right??
Hi Carol and Anngie!!
I must get busy.

Pinky - the Madison shooting was at an apartment building downtown and dd said there are some students there but it is not considered a "student apartment". I heard it was a rooftop graduation party of some kind. DD was downtown at the time out with friends but she was not directly impacted. I'm not sure where they stand on that investigation.

It's muggy here, too. I don't know if we're supposed to have rain or not.
I don't understand about the marshmallows. What's the purpose, I mean does it have something to do with the dehydration or just something that is not hard on digestion? Dehydration can really make you feel bad.
Karen, hopefully someday soon you'll walk into the resale store and there will be the perfect table for you.
Anngie, I was the same way with the cataracts. The doctor told me to wait and then covid happened. When I was able to finally go back, he said time to go to ophthalmologist.

Our closing here today worked out great. The woman was selling the house that she lived in with her significant other, who died 2 years ago. She's the one moving to Texas. She stayed a short time after the buyers left to fill out bank forms so we could deposit the check, because our bank is easier to work with for trust accounts, and then we will wire to her. As she left she was starting to break down, as it's the final thing, not having us to talk to any more, leaving the house and this life. Her mother died not long ago and left her 1/2 of her house, although not in the greatest neighborhood it is not bad. But, I don't even know where that is. I have to run over to the bank with all the paperwork and the check.
I am not sure why the marshmallows, but is has something to do with getting the digestion right after this type of surgery. DH decided not to go to Boston, he is nervous being away from home in case something happens. DS1 & DDIL are having a baby naming for their youngest, on Father's Day, which would have been a good day except for this, and I really don't want to mess everything up by putting that off. This weekend DH always watches the US Open Golf Tournament anyway. It's always Father's Day weekend, and seeing as both of our fathers died so long ago, this is his thing, he watches the tournament and we would BBQ steaks. I don't think he should have steak now, but I will try to figure out what I should leave for him to eat.
I cannot say I have any idea about KwikTrip brownies, seeing as we don't have Kwik Trip here, but of course now don't you know it but I want a brownie! The small supermarket I use has been having a lot more bakery items that come from I am not sure where, but last weekend I bought a small piece of a crumb cake that had a delicious cake, not too many crumbs, although that is the best part, and a layer of jelly in between. I divided it up over the weekend to have.
I took the soft cast off this morning, so am wearing an ankle brace we had in the house, and my regular Sketchers. Of course now that Anngie mentioned it, I have to check out the Sketchers sandals. I should be fine with the sandals I bought last weekend. I have to figure out what else I should pack. The strange thing about my back is that it seems to be moving from one spot to another.

Karen, as I mentioned to Robin yesterday, ibuprofen and acetaminophen can be taken together and (according to my surgeon) work the best together for pain. It doesn’t matter if it’s a brand name or store name. I always get the WM brand. What isn’t good is say Aleve (or store name of it) and an ibuprofen. Don’t worry another minute about giving Tony his walking papers and his installing curtain rods. He installed some curtain rods (he didn’t install a new furnace) and you gave home lunch. Period! Glad you made appointments for your cataract surgery - and it’s the best time of year for you. In fact, that’s why I had my hip replacement when I did (February) so that I’d be good by summer. No Kwik Trip here but now I wish we had one!
What I did was worse - a friend dropped off some more rhubarb and I made another strawberry/rhubarb pie! That CANNOT happen again.
Robin, I think it’s a good idea to still go to Boston this weekend. I’m sure DH won’t mind at all as he’ll be watching golf, and leave a couple of his favorite foods he can just warm up. He might even do a little office work, too. Of course take some videos! I’m glad I bought those sandals. Mine are the Reggae Slim-Simply Stretch. I bought them at Kohls. They were $12 cheaper than if I bought them from Sketchers.com. What does that woman plan to do once she gets to TX.
So for Father’s Day we’ll have our usual BBQ - about nine people. As a side I’m going to make macaroni and cheese the way his mother used to make it. I think DH and his brother will really like that. It’ll just be hamburgers and hotdogs. I’ll make meat sauce as well - can’t have hotdogs here without that, and a few other sides too. The weather should be beautiful - unlike Mother’s Day!
I just started The Other Einstein - has anyone read it? The only other book I’ve read by Marie Benedict is The Only Woman In the Room which I really liked.

I forgot to ask if anyone has order from SHEIN the online company? I really like a lot of their clothes but I hesitate to order.

Anngie - Rhubarb freezes well. If your friend brings more, chop it up and toss it in a ziploc bag. Then you have it available in the middle of the winter. I read part of The Other Einstein some years ago. I got bored and didn't finish it. I liked The Only Woman In The Room. Never heard of Shein.
I started The Little Liar on audio. It's tough to listen to.

Anngie, I did hear of Schein, but can't remember what it was. I was googling at the time to find out if they had something to do with Henry Schein, that is a company on Long Island. It's controversial apparently for various reasons, so not sure I would buy from them.
Last week I had a weird problem with emails from a client about wiring money. Today I got another one from someone who asked if I could facilitate him setting up a wire of $750,000 to invest in something, from their money market. This is one I am suspicious of anyway, and I am sure DH would have said no, but surely enough I checked and it was fraudulent. I called our IT people and they told me that apparently this is a fishing scam that is going on where they are picking up information from people's emails and sending these out. They are working on setting new spam filters to keep this from happening.
