Sharon thank you so much for those suggestions as I had been looking at both those stores online and knew we used to have a Chicos but thought they had closed and had no idea we had a JJills here. I will definitely check them out and what would be cool is if I find something DSW is there as well to buy the shoes to go with and maybe a clutch bag. Now I am excited to go look! I’ll probably wait until tomorrow as the foreman from the crew working on the sidewalk knocked on our door yesterday to say today they will be tearing up the end of our drive and prepare it to pour the cement. They’ll probably wait until tomorrow to pour as supposed to get strong storms this afternoon. Fred said glad to hear that as when you’re done I’m going to start getting quotes on replacing our drive and the guy said several of his guys do that on the side so I’ll give you their names and numbers.
Fred got his golf game done before the heat moved in but told me as long as it stays in the 90’s he won’t be golfing unless they play really early.

Good morning 🌞.
It's very overcast out. The weather report says rain this afternoon but it certainly looks like it might start sometime this morning.
I watched the weather reports in South Florida and boy they really got hit yesterday. Apparently parts got 4 inches of rain in 1 hour and the streets of Sarasota on the west coast and Miami on the East Coast we're so flooded!
We had a good amount of rain but nothing like that.
I went to the dermatologist yesterday and they removed another suspicious growth this one on my left leg. Every time I go they find something suspicious and usually it's more than one so hopefully this is fine.
I did have a pre melanoma growth on the top of my right foot I think the very first time I went to the dermatologist. My father had a history of skin cancers particularly basil cell carcinoma and he actually did have a melanoma on his forehead about a year and a half to two years before he passed away.
Dad was raised on a farm though in the twenties and thirties so he was out in the direct sun a lot. Of course so was I as a youth and I do take my walks but I try to be careful.
Not much else to report. Enjoy your day.

Good Morning Friends!
Today I am going to Bunco at a friend's house. I am taking a salad and chocolate chip cookie croissants. I have never made the chocolate chip cookie croissants, but you just cut a store bakery croissant and fill it with the cookie dough and bake. Will let you know how they turn out. Then I have yarn club tonight. If there are any croissants left I may take them.
Sandy, JJ Jill's and Chico's sound like good options to find something trendy and nice. Good luck and have fun when you go!
Shragae, So sorry they found growths at your derm appointment, but thank goodness you go and they were taken care of. I didn't start going until I was 70. I have been lucky so far, but I know living in Florida it is important to keep those yearly checks. I saw all of the rain Sarasota got in the news. Mike's cousin lives in Sarasota. I need to give her a call to make sure they are okay.
Our strong opinions on food have given rise to some pretty interesting and controversial debates over the years, from how you should eat Oreos to whether or not dipping your fries in a milkshake is a huge no-no. QOTD: My controversial food opinion is………

It is not raining but forecast is for some every hour of the day. My lake is high and another day like yesterday will have it up to our yards. The water on my lanai has gone but will be back before the day ends. My street is ok but I am one house away from the drain so don’t know how high that water is . Anyway I think I won’t have a problem. Hurricanes have brought the water up to my garage door but not into my house. Kelcy and I were completely soaked yesterday. We have been so dry in this area and now we have too much water.

Shragae, I agree with Ruth. It is good that you get checked on a regular basis.
AOTD: My controversial food opinions are that I hate white chocolate, do not like bacon, and hate potato salad made with mayonnaise (give me German potato salad and I am fine).
I must get moving. Doctor's appointment at noon, exercise at 2:30, and dinner with my singles club at 5.
Enjoy your Thursday, all.

Going to be warm with possible storm later about dinner time. Fairly humid with little breeze but got a wagon load of trash picked up before it rains if so. At least one more load and possibly a half more. No burning today. Would like to dump it into the grader ditch but still some good size pieces of wood in it.
I still have time to get cooled down and cleaned up for lunch out with Judy. Need to get some stitches in the quilt which I could this afternoon if I just did it as not working outside in the 90’s.
Ruthie is still in a paralyzed sleep but as the Dr’s have never done this procedure on a child her age they are thinking things went well. Of course a long recovery period for her but all are hoping for the best.
I set out another Poppy plant earlier and noticed this morning it has bit the dust. I just can grow poppies here have tried a few times.
My controversial food opinion is……… Some say pineapple should not be on Pizza but with ham or Canadian bacon I kinda like it. I sometimes put sauerkraut on mine with pineapple tidbits on top. Some say a hot dog is not a sandwich, ok then what is it. I call it a sandwich because it in a bun with often other ingredients added. Best way to boil an egg. When can you eat cereal. And the list goes on.

My odd food thing is I don’t like pickles or vinaigrette dressings. Both are too vinegary. That’s all I could come up with.
I told Don I wanted to go to Jjill and Chicos this morning. He said he didn’t have anything planned so would drive me. Jjill was so helpful annd I bought a cute top and I never made it to Chicos. Grand Prairie is an outdoor walking mall and I got lost going back to the car LOL.
Jane I’m sorry you and Kelcy got drenched.

The cleaning lady was here earlier and now the house looks and smells wonderful. Now to just keep it this way for more than a day or two!
The Spanish Rice I made a few days ago turned out really good so I'll post the recipe tomorrow. We're having it again tonight since it made a lot, but I'm going to freeze what's left.
Ruth, the chocolate chip cookie croissants sound easy enough to make. Definitely let us know how they turn out. I'm always looking for something to take to the monthly luncheon at church.
Karen E, I'm keeping Ruth and her family in my prayers.
QOTD: My controversial food opinion is……… AOTD: Pineapple belongs on pizza. Jerry and I both love Hawaiian Pizza.

My controversial food opinion is texture of food. I can’t handle how some feels. Tomatoes, rice, tapioca, I can start on oatmeal but just can’t finish it. Cottage cheese. No..yogurt like oatmeal I can’t finish it. Quinoa couscous. No no no . Some I can look at and feel myself gagging. Don’t understand but my mother or Don could eat those things Meat that is rare. No way. Once sent a hamburger back at Fords Garage after telling them no pink and it came out bloody. Called the waiter over. Send it back three times and gave up. Think I ended up with a salad and had to pick out tomatoes.
From my house it looks like the lake has covered the rock and vegetation barrier that surrounds it. Still a long way from my lanai but my lanai is covered with standing water. By long way I mean 10 feet. Flood watch here. I haven’t looked at the street but it was ok earlier. I have a dr. Appointment tomorrow and I am thinking some streets will be flooded.

Rarely eat them but have always like peanut butter and pure maple syrup on pancakes or waffles.
Made it to the pool, steam, sauna and a yoga fitness class. Such a professional instructor. Knows how to warm up the body before each movement. Feel invigorated, never sore.
I’d like to vacuum but I’d need to turn on the AC. It’s comfortable in here otherwise. Maybe later when it cools down.
Tomorrow we three hometown friends will get to visit another lifelong friend at a nursing facility. Very sad that she’s unable to be home at this point.

QOTD: My controversial food opinion is………too many foods I won't eat, touch, serve, smell!! I am a very fussy eater. Most of the foods you ladies eat, I won't touch with a 10 foot pole!!
Sandy, did you go shopping and find anything?
Took DH to the PCP today. No issues at all. Was pleased overall with everything we talked about. Will see the PA next Thursday and have his staples removed and next Friday will have his PT eval.
Waving to all. Happy Friday.

QOTD: My controversial food opinions are……… Miracle Whip is NOT mayonnaise. It doesn't taste like mayonnaise and I just don't like it.
You can't eat breakfast foods for dinner. I used to think eating breakfast for dinner was a no-no. My granddaughter loves breakfast for dinner and calls it Brinner
You can’t get enough protein when you are on a vegetarian diet. In fact, you can!
Also, french fries dipped in ranch dressing are delicious! Really! But just about anything you use involving ranch dressing is good.

I really wanted to make those chocolate chip cookie croissants today but forgot that I had bought some mini lemon poppyseed muffins to take to Bunco, so I will make them for Mike and myself this weekend because our next Bunco with that group is not until August due to 4th of July and vacations. I will surely let you know how they turn out.
