Debbie and Jim did go home around 9:30 yesterday. When we got home from Mass Debbie fixed breakfast and then we cleaned up the kitchen and then they played with Rosie. She keeps trying to get Rosie to bark but for some reason she just wonāt do it but after they left she did a low growl and did bark. I think she was waiting for them to leave!
All three of us were very tired yesterday and we all slept for about 15 minutes in the afternoon but at 8 last night when I said bedtime it didnāt take Rosie long to get to the bedroom. She got up with me at 5 to go potty but is in her bed fast asleep again. She has gotten pretty funny with Fred when wanting to play. She gets in front of him and starts growling while in her play stance and waits for him to get down on the floor. She has learned to bring back her ball when he throws it but then when sheās done she puts it in her bed and lays down and goes to sleep!
Fred did say yesterday that we are going to our Shoppes at Grand Prairie today to look for an outfit as he keeps saying heās sure Iāll find something there. I might lower my expectations and just look for any nice dress or pants with a sparkly top but the pants and top make more sense to me as I donāt really wear dresses anymore and we donāt have any fancy restaurants here that would require dressing up. Even the fancier restaurant downtown has no dress code.
I looked at my weather app and it looks like the 90ās are here at least through the rest of the month.

Good Morning Friends!
Yesterday was a nice day with Kim here. I made a pork tenderloin, roasted veggies and a salad. Normally we would cook something on the grill, but that is usually Mike's job and I wanted him to enjoy his time with his daughter since it was Father's day.
This morning I am going to Stretch class and I am going to try Body Pump since my personal trainer is on vacation this week.
When I get home Mike and I will head to Outback near the airport to have lunch with Mike's cousin, Debbi and her husband, Steve. Steve is having some outpatient surgery tomorrow and his doctor recommended this specialist in Tampa. They just moved from LaBelle to Fort Myers. We have not been to their new home yet but we always got together with them when we went to our time share in Fort Myers beach.

Good morning š.
Dash and I enjoyed our morning walk down to the lake and I've had one cup of coffee so far. All is right through the world.
So I shouldn't say that because the world is going to hell in a handbasket LOL.
Sam had the day off yesterday. Poor thing I think needed it as he's been working a lot of long hours.
He helped me with a quest I've been doing on Destiny 2 for- 3 or 4 days now. The accomplished more in about 2 hours then I have in 3 days but that's because he is a much better player than me.
I am still not done with the quest which is one of those things that you have to keep repeating something about six times. They do keep changing it up every time you do it but it's one after another after another.
But the game has been rated at 10 out of 10 and is currently the top selling game in the country. This new release that came out on June 4th has been really popular. I'm enjoying it.
Today is grocery day is the cupboards are yet again bare. I don't think I have any doctors appointments coming up although they did a biopsy on a mole last week so I should be able to results on that sometime this week.
It is so nice to not have a doctor visit scheduled let alone any surgeries. I think my cardiologist will be coming up soon as I see him every 6 months. I probably should schedule to see my primary just to check in...
But other than that life is good. I really do love this morning walks more than I can say along with my cup of coffee that is!
Enjoy your day.

Good morning, friends. It will be cloudy today, getting up to the high 80s. I must do some work around here, including a visit from the exterminator in a couple of hours.
Busy week coming up, as usual. Because I volunteer for the Community Theater in Sun City, I was invited to a dress rehearsal of MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS. Tom will go with me. Then I see the actual play this weekend. Next week we will have a wrap-up party for the play. They have such amazing talent here. Looking forward to it. I just got tickets for CHICAGO for next week at the Center for the Arts in Coastal Carolina. Their shows are always exceptional.
DGD will be over Thursday to help me with some stuff around the house. I will also show her what to do when I am away on my two trips in July.
It is lovely that you share an enjoyment of Destiny with Sam, Shragae.
Sandy, good luck with the shopping. Keep us posted.
Ruth recommended PRESUMED INNOCENT, a new series on Apple TV+. I watched the first two episodes. I had seen the original movie, starring Harrison Ford years ago. I forgot the ending and do not want to know. It is very good so far! Jake Gyllenhaal plays the Harrison Ford role.
On to my chores in a bit. Enjoy your Monday!

Greetings:
Jane, J.D. Robb is Nora Roberts? I didn't know that. Thanks. I needed a book for my walk today and you'd mentioned David Baldacci who I haven't listened to for awhile. So, I pulled up one of his stand alones since I'm no sure where I am in some of the series. I'm over an hour in and I keep thinking, this is not really David Baldacci. The book is One Summer. I don't know if you've read it. I will keep it going and see what happens. At the beginning of the book he says that this story came to him during a service at his church for his daughter, but it's just not him in my experience.
Joan, your violet is lovely! I want to buy another one for myself. I've decided that I'm actually giving them too much light. My "garden" is a disaster. Enough said.
KC, thanks for the cauliflower rice idea. There is probably some in the freezer section. Bill is so cauliflower averse I'll have to sneak it in and make this on the sly. Maybe on a Wednesdy afternoon when he's at poker!
I'm going to the chiiro shortly for my left leg.
The kids called and we went out to dinner last night. It was a nice restaurant we hadn't been to for over a year.
Firsts from yesterday ... I got a couple of ideas from the posts...
1st pizza ... one a trip to Oklahoma at my aunt and uncle's they said, let's have pizza for dinner, or some such thing. I'd never heard of pizza and was curious. I'd have been at least 13 or more. When it came it was really good. We didn't have the money to buy pizza but after we got home we bought the make it yourself pizza box, Appian Way, I think and made pizza now and then. I love pizza, though, no, no pineapple on mine. I'm a traditionalist -- though I do like anchovies on it.
1st kiss ... on a hayride. No date by sat by a boy in the next grade up, Frank Schrater. Frank later fell off a horse and was in a coma for a year. Then he woke up with ho residuals. Miracle. But he kissed me and bit my lip. It wasn't something I wanted to repeat.
1st plane ride -- in the winter and I was a Freshman in college. I rode from Laramie to Cheyenne (about 50 miles) with friends to another's house and she took me to the airport to fly home, Sheridan. There was a terrible snow storm and that was t. Ihe reason I was flying so I wouldn't be on the road with some college driver, but it was dicey anyway.
1st birth ... the "new" doctor, an ob moved into town and I was one of his first 10 patients. There wasn't a lot of pre-natal care. We got vitamins, saw him regularly and had one ultrasound at the beginning. No one knew I had placenta previa until XH was out on an ambulance call. I woke up about midnight and the bed was soaked. I thought my water had broken. It just kept coming and I thought, hmm, this isn't right, so I turned on the bedside light and I'd soaked the bed in blood. I pulled XH's pillow over and crammed it between my legs to stop the bleeding and fortunately we had a phone by the bed so he could take calls, and I called for an ambulance. He came with the other ambulance attendant and took me to the hospital. I couldn't dress so there I was in my nightgown with that pillow which it turned out, saved my life. No one would touch it until the doctor came in and removed it. My son was born at 4:54 a.m. by C-section as I was a mess.
Well, now to read today's posts in my few minutes. Sandy, I hope to read you found your outfit, be it pants or a dress.

My sister and her husband are coming up on Wednesday so looking forward to that.

I havenāt figured out like the rest of you how to post pictures, I worked all afternoon one day and no success. So that being said my Avatar is little Ruthieās mom, dad, brothers and sisters. I havenāt seen a new post since yesterday but hoping for more improvement.
Well I thought it was a bit windy to burn this morning so decided to mow with the deck raised some to just even things out and top the heads off the weeds and tall grass. I mowed for about one hour and forty minutes when the blade stopped. I drove to underneath a shade tree and it finally restarted again so I mowed a bit more and it stopped again. Decided to let it set and cool down completely and see if that will help. Havenāt contacted Rob yet but I will. No intention of mowing complete yard today. I am seeing some good sized cracks in ground in some places. Again I am very tempted to dump the load of timber yard trash in the road side grader ditch, it is just growing up in tall grass and weeds plus itās all biodegradable so donāt really think it will matter much. They certainly donāt mow it and keep it tidy.
Going to be a hot week and probably no rain, I certainly canāt set in this house and eat all day so must figure something out. Neighbor lady, Judy got in her car yesterday afternoon and drove almost to Des Moines to get ice cream from this certain Jersey Freeze ice cream shop. Ok, first I am not an ice cream addict, which she could be, second there are many ice cream shops closer than Monroe, IA. To each their own but sounded a bit over the top to me. She had already been to church, out for lunch and to cemetery, so wasnāt like she was home all day.
Will be glad to get Debraās quilt done, ready to search for fabric and start a new one for sister Katherine. Hers will be in shades of turquoise. I have some scraps already, just not enough.
I better contact Rob about mower and find a bit to eat and either sew, laundry which I didnāt do yesterday or something else to be about 93* this afternoon but is cloudy.
PS: just got latest update from Ruthieās mom
All I have is good news (had a small episode yesterday with headaches and needing xtra morphine) BUT today we are eating chocolate, wearing our own clothes, smiling, opening letters, and sitting up in the chair!!!! All around just beating all odds and proving how STRONG she really is ššš„¹š„¹ we have such wonderful community and a mighty God behind us and we truly feel it, we are forever grateful ā¤ļøā¤ļø

Re Ruthie, children are so resilient.
I went out early to work and it was already hot. I pruned and weeded and then watered pots and flowers. I rolled up about 150 ft of hose. Whew that was a workout. I showered then went to ALDIs, the pharmacy and stopped at the country market. Iāve heard their home made frozen casseroles are the best. They are large and Iād have one on hand if any of the family is here over the wedding weekend. However I was surprised the one I wanted was $42 so I didnāt buy it. Once I came home Don said thatās cheaper than taking them all out to eat.
Iāll probably iron this afternoon since itās nice and cool downstairs. First a Power Nap.

After a bad shopping trip this morning I finally told Fred I have the dress I wore to Joeās wedding that even though I think itās outdated I could have the tailor in our town revise it like take off the attached side belts, let it out a bit on the waist, remove shoulder pads and shorten it some. Of course that will depend on what they would charge as if itās too much I will keep looking. But itās navy blue with white accents and I wore it to Joeās summer wedding in Missouri so definitely light enough. I tried it on and Fred loved it!

Good afternoon!
It keeps clouding up but I don't think we have any rain predicted for quite a while. It's 92 degrees today and the humidity is on the rise. All in all, a very uncomfortable day to be outside.
I just finished cleaning a mess of green beans and getting them on the stove to cook for supper tonight. I added chopped onion, new potatoes and smoked sausage. I love fresh green beans but I don't like cleaning them. It's so tedious. I'm looking forward to having them for supper and they'll taste even better tomorrow night.
Karen E, what wonderful news about little Ruthie! You just can't keep kids down for long. They bounce back pretty quickly. I hope every day she gets stronger and stronger.
Sharon, we have a little restaurant/coffee shop here in town called The Beehive. They make their own casseroles and keep them in their freezer case. I've bought them a few times and they're always good. One of the things I like is that they make them in 2 sizes, a family size and a smaller size for 2-3 people. They're very handy to keep on hand in the freezer. I just have to stay away from their bakery because they make all of their baked goods homemade and they're absolutely delicious!

Vicki I remember seeing our cafe/deli having a freezer with casseroles too. Iāll check that out.
Sandy Iām sorry shopping was a bust. It usually is for me.
KC I hope your back is feeling better.
The freezer in the fridge is fine. The best we can come up with is there was something keeping the drawer from completely closing. I did throw out some things that had been in there a while. I found zucchini from last summer and weāve already picked our first one. Though weāre thinking after the wedding and chaos of the flooring we need to think about looking at fridges before this one is done for.
Dinner is impossible quiche and fresh fruit.

OMG...A homicide investigation is underway after a shooting was reported along Bruce B. Downs Boulevard and Regents Park Drive in New Tampa today around 2 pm. 20 shots were fired and a white Mercedes with the door open and a body was lying in the road near by. This is very close to home and right where I go for banking and my massages. They think it may be a road rage incident. This is not a bad area of Tampa and very scary!
Sandy, It seems we can never find something to wear unless we are not really looking. Wear the dress you have. It sounds lovely, and Fred likes it.
Karen, Oh my! What a scary first birth. It is amazing that you knew intuitively what to do by stopping the loss of blood with that pillow. I am sorry you had to go through all that!

What an ordeal bridge was. First we were playing with two subs and 10 minutes before we were to start Judy calls to tell me she took DH to dermatologist at 9 and he hadnāt called her to come get him. So the two subs arrived and no Judy. The one walked to her house which is only two houses away and could not get anyone to the door. Then she took Kelcy outā¦she loves my dog and Judy drove up and parked on my grass so she told Judy to park across my driveway. Judy had driven to the dermatologist to tell them to have Bob call cell phone and not house phone. Two hours later no word from Bob and we are telling Judy to call Dr. office. Judy insists. They donāt answer so that is why she drove there. Finally at 4:00 we insist she call. Well the call works Bob is ready. They answered the phone but Judy said from her land line no one answered. So we quit bridge and the scorekeeper was the winner. Judyā¦as Judy is to the door she says I have to go back for my cane. The cane is on her hand. Well glad this is over. Saying you forgot your cane when it is in your hand is not good.
Tomorrow I will call an appliance repair about my washer. I have a book due tomorrow and will have read a whole book today . It is only 300 pages and I started it last night and stopped at page 25 . Easy reading. I like her books. The Amish Midwifeās Bargain by Patrice Lewis. She writes nice stories and they are quick reads.
Wonderful news about little Ruthie
Karen C now that you know JDRobb is Nora Roberts maybe you will read some of her death books. Same main characters in all . Somewhere many books ago I found out more about their younger years. It probably takes reading several before becoming obsessed with them. Little things that happen continue in the books especially side characters lives.
