Hi, all:
Thank you for creating these off-site WW boards. I am I guess what you would call an "old timer," having first done WW in the early 2000s. Although I have been on and off the plan over the years, I have paid for the online program more of the years than not. One thing I loved and used extensively were the message boards. I have missed them so much in the last year since they updated the site!!! I am trying to like Connect, but..... There is no order to it. No categories, subjects, questions, headlines, etc. Just a random series of posts that may or may not be helpful. I understand they are going for a younger demographic but how are people getting the support they need or answers to their specific questions without the old boards?
Anyway, I have now reached a new enormous high weight for me, so I have decided to re-commit to the program. So I will be coming here and appreciate this resource very much.

cindyinkentucky howdy!! We are always happy when old timers find us because we are all old timers too!! We love format of the boards  what was your name on the old one? The best way is to keep coming as you know, support is key, also whether you are down OR up, we get it here, so jump on in and welcome back

I totally agree with linda72! The support here is the best. And bestest of all are our moderators Deb~Does~WW and itsrad. We love them!

Thank you for your welcomes! My WW username was always Cindyinkentucky. I was mainly a lurker on the old boards but occasionally posted and enjoyed them very much. I have to get a pic on here so we can "see" each other. Ladymaj, I am in Eastern Jefferson County near the Summit Shopping Center, so close to you. Small world!
How I found the boards is I began to think "I know there were many die-hard WW message board people. Surely they wouldn't give up easily." I googled weight watchers message boards and found you. Yay!
I am looking forward to getting to know everyone. I lost .4 on my first day (mainly) OP, so I am psyched. The first thing I am going to attack is the wine drinking. Too much and too often. I think it is not only contributing to the weight gain but also belly bloat. This week I will focus on that, tracking and water.

Welcome cindyinkentucky ! I like how you're planning to focus on a few things. When I came back on program this last time, I made it work by not trying to do too much at one time. I focused on just one or 2 things for the first week, added something else the second week, etc. I first tracked everything but didn't try to stay within my points - that came the second or even third week. I've been maintaining for 6 years now, I'm an old-timer, but I still consider myself to be a "work in progress"! I'm still learning and still practicing my weight management skills. I'm so happy I found you guys!! Maybe I can get some commiseration with all the bugs, glitches, frustration etc with the new site, plan and everything else? I promise I'm not really a complainer- and I'm super happy that you're here. Having a "community" is such a huge benefit. About me- I've done WW off and on since probably 2000. In 2009 I had a baby, and buckled down and lost 60lb, putting me at a weight I hadn't seen since high school I've mostly kept it off, but I'm definitely at my high end of my acceptable range- so I'm really wanting to get back into it. Over the years, I always rejoin over the holidays, keeps me in check. When I'm not an active member, I usually keep tracking, that's huge for me. I do exercise (Pilates, ellipitcal), but for me it's 90% eating habits that keep me where I don't want to be. Anyways, hi!! I'm sure I've 'known' some of you from the old boards, I tend to come and go - but I'm committing to sticking around and getting this 15(ish) lb back off of my body. Thanks again for creating these boards, can't wait to dive in! |
