Happy Day All!
Well, we made it to the cabin and it was really an easy trip since we've decided to avoid I-75 thru Atlanta. It does take a little longer, but there's little traffic and nice scenery. Charlie was literally exhausted, but managed to smell a lot of the yard before crashing in his bed. We got the car unloaded, but not everything unpacked. Cleaning gal is coming this morning, so I'll have to get busy - cleaning up so she can clean! LOL!
It's SO much cooler here - only 68 vs the 80+ it's been in the morning in FL. Doors are open. Nice!
Guess I'll go get started with breakfast et al. Just wanted to let you know we made it safely.
Hope everyone has a good day, and for those of you with physical issues - wishing you a better day. Wish I could help. Cheers!

Morning All!
Glad the trip to Ga. was uneventful Penny. I’ll take those lower temps any day. Sounds like the perfect comfort zone to me. How hot does it get in the afternoons and evenings?
Mar – I wouldn’t want to hear those coyote noises either. They talk about them being in the area here, but I’ve never seen any of them- deer yes- coyotes, no. the screeching noises of a hurt animal – wouldn’t like that at all……. I am always close by when the princess goes out….
Lin, sorry Minni is having problems. Hope they can figure out what’s causing them and get it resolved right away…..
The cleaning lady just arrived – actually she is kind of new. My old cleaning lady decided to move back to Columbia – she hasn’t been happy here for some time. The woman that works for me now, used to be her assistant. I trust her and feel comfortable having her in the house. Her young friend is pleasant and they both do a really good job. So far so good. I’m hoping that their reliability continues.
Sounds like everyone is wrapped up in their reading. I’ve canceled all of my streaming apps for now – will probably pick some of them up again in the fall. So, I am doing more reading as well. I’ve spent some time figuring out the various ways to watch a lot of tv for free. There are tons of old series and shows that are available through Roku live tv – a lot of movies that I’ve wanted to see as well. So far I don’t feel deprived at all. Its kind of weird, not being able to turn on the tv and sort of have the everyday normal channels available to me, but I have figured out how to get the news, local and national and find some of the programs I want to watch through a bit of ingenuity and trial and error. Its just a new way of watching and truthfully – I don’t think I’m missing that much.
Well need to get moving, the cleaning ladies will want to get in here soon.
Wishing all a pleasant day!
Dayle

I am not much of a TV person. and have never gotten into streaming etc. My Grandkids are appalled. But I'm just not interested. My DDs don't watch much TV either. Most of my friends do watch a lot of TV and not sure what they watch in summer. Maybe just old reruns sounds like. Guys like News, and sports . Most have TV on all day. I like music as a back ground noise. I check news and weather on my Ipad. The couple shows I watch I do record and watch when I want to. Usually late at night. no reruns at all. And no binging of a whole series. Good book in hand.
It is another hot day today but don't see any storms for today. I have some things I need to do outside but still pretty humid so probably not today. Am going to check out where they put the road side stand and see if they have strawberries. Would like to make some strawberry freezer jam for the family but will see, doesn't seem to be a good year for the local strawberries.

Good morning everyone
Slept good last night. Arm only hurts a little this morning. No Tylenol needed. Yay. I think today is the last day of vaccine issues. So relieved.
Hubby is volunteering today. He missed the past 2 weeks because he was sick. I think I am going shopping today. Ravina and I need an outing. lol
We watch a lot of series shows on tv. Right now we are watching Suits, Madam Secretary and Monk. All 3 are great. Hubby watches sports and totally enjoys it. I rarely read a fiction book. I read self improvement books. My next one is a book about minimalism in household possessions. Libby just made it available. Was on a waitlist for many weeks.
Penny- so glad you got there safely.

I was not reading for a while, not sure why as I have always been an avid reader. Got a notice from the library that The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store is mine to read. I have had it on hold.
Meeting a couple of friends for our weekly visit to the local pizza joint. A slice of pizza, a glass of wine and good conversation.
Lin, poor puppy. Hope it all gets resolved soon.
Dayle, I have YouTube TV for my regular TV. Prime TV comes with my Prime membership. I get Netflix when Call the Midwife season is there. Just have it for a month or so then cancel. I like binge watching it rather than once a week on PBS.
Rain is coming, thank heavens. We have been really dry. My poor lawn needs it.
Time to put something decent on so I can go out in public. You all have a great day.

Good afternoon everyone,
Currently its sunny and 90 in my part of NJ. Will reach 94 by 4pm and then slowly start going down. I don't watch TV during the day. I read after breakfast for a while, then I do find a word from a book and then knit or crochet. In the evening the TV goes on when Ed gets in. I watch Jeopardy & Wheel of Fortune faithfully. Usually we watch in the football season a game or now a hockey game. I fit in laundry, dusting, washing floors etc. between all these projects.
Yesterday I took my friend up to the federal building so she could take the oath to be a notary. After that we went out for lunch. It was nice to spend a couple of hours talking about stuff.
So glad you made it to GA safely, Penny.
Have a great day everyone, be safe and hydrate!

Penny, glad trip went well.
I basically drugged Minni around nine. she finally conked out midnight until 7 this morning. i kept checking. she was ok, and we decided groomer shaved her rear too close. so we decided not vet trip for spouse wobbly this morning and vet said a little cortisone cream. so far so knock on wood. good..
cleaner here, and we leave for my leg vein ultrasound soon. i do not want to hear that vein is worse and needs surgery because 1. it is hospital general anesthetic again, and 2. dr last year said messy with problem under another cosmetic issue vein.3. have to wear tighter stocking that will set off foot. i wore lower strength stockings all year to hope to prevent this.
hope tgat heat wave breaks for you.

Lin- I hope your veins are ok. I didn’t know Minni was having a problem after grooming. I had to switch groomers when Abby came home a couple of times with a razor burn. After I switched it never happened again. Hopefully she is better soon.
I actually feel good and did some housework. I moved back into our bedroom.
The tree trimmer will be here at 5 to give an estimate on the backyard major pruning project. I think it will be around $1000.00. Glad he will hard prune the huge carrotwood tree and it’s before it starts dropping the pods next month and leaves in November. It’s a messy tree but beautiful. We want as much cut off as it can be without killing it. Will miss the shade but now that the patio cover is bigger we actually do not need the tree shade. If it dies I really don’t care but will be costly to get it out. So a few branches with a little greenery is good. We also want pruning along the back of the yard slope trees.
Air conditioner guy will be here on Monday. Have not contacted screen door guy yet.
