ksbruns Love your avatar! Agreed with the message. Ohh, and you bought black eye peas? Guess those years living in the south have rubbed off on you. I'm not big on hot black eye peas (but I will eat them) but I love the cold dip. Of course, I could just leave out the black eyed peas and I'd like the rest just as well! LOL!!

i used to love going out to party it up on NYE. one of my favorite times was when 8 of us stayed in 2 rooms in downtown SF. i was only 20 at the time and it was so much fun walking around the streets of union square and drinking till i puked. i no longer want to drink till i puke but i would love to do that again without that part.

I've only ever done NYE "on the town" once, 20 living in Boston. It was a lot of fun. Once was enough, though. haha. A local resort has a big NYE bash, plus a kid-friendly party, so I'd like to do that some day down the line, maybe when kiddo is 8 or 9 years old and will enjoy a kid-friendly party.

Linda, I bought Stonewall Farms Black Bean Salsa, which sadly, looked like black-eyed peas, so I grabbed it up, not thinking, for our festivities. Maybe all the beans I'll be eating tomorrow in that chili will make me lucky *enough*. Yes, it made my parents wild that I didn't do the ham/cabbage/black-eyed pea thing, but there's ham in the frig and cabbage in the soup! Yes, it took me a long time to understand that how happy I was going to be was up to me, but I'm a believer.

Much to my chagrin, DH loves the dress up Gator Bowl NYE party. Lots of food and drinks but since we are staying at the hotel, I plan on slipping out to watch football! No early bed because they will be shooting of a huge fireworks display outside my window. At least I have 2 more days to before work!

Fajitas; guava; peppers and onions; for family dinner and watching movies. Our favorite kind of NYE!

I'm staying home, as uaual, and have a couple glasses of wine and watch some recorded TV shows. I had some rotisserie chicken and a salad for dinner, along with a glass of wine which I'm now finishing. Then on to a second one a little later, then maybe to finish off the evening I'll have a Bailey's Irish Creme. I'll probably be up until midnight. That seems to be the norm for me, 11:30 to midnight.

i ended up hanging out with my best friend and her family today and our girls got to spend the day playing together. in fact, she actually let my girls spend the night at her house last night so i could go to a party. her husband went to the store and came back with an entire bottle of wine just for me! they don't drink at all. i thought that was really nice. tonight i'm baking a salmon wellington because i had a large salmon fillet, refrigerated pie crust, and bagged spinach ready to expire, so since i had all the ingredients for it, i figured i'd make it.
