We are a group of like-minded people that gather to discuss a host of topics from weight loss, to current events. Our thread celebrates liberal diversity, welcomes new friends, and respects all opinions. We count everything from calories to points but, we never count our chickens before they are hatched.

Waving hello! Just got back home from DD's. Went yesterday morning to help her out with kids while DSIL out of town, and she was working. Had to take one to the doctor (all is well), ferry them both around to different venues, all that kind of stuff, and this Baba loves to get to do it.
As for the news, the beat just keeps going on and on and on . . . the JA in the Oval will never change. And, his minions won't either. Driving to DD's yesterday I was listening to CNN on the radio. KAC was being interviewed. It was just more than I could stand, so finally had to just change channels. It is impossible for her to give a straight answer to even a simple question. She's just a broken record. I don't know why they keep giving her air time. Wish they would all just say we refuse to interview KAC. If you can't do better than that, then just forget it. Let Tweety tweet whatever he wants said and be done with it.
So far, it's not looking good for the GOP and their non-healthcare plan.

I just wish the Press, TV & everyone inbetween would quit giving airtime to all the pundits surrounding JA. Let them hawk their lies & excuses to FOX & Brietbart. Those who listen there are the only ones drinking their Kool-aid anyway. I agree with Jim Acosta who said its time to just walk out of the daily Press Conferences. Sean Spicer is useless. If anyone can't see that this JA & his aides aren't trying surpress the news, then they are just flat out crazy.
I do believe any day now, JA is going to get Meuller fired one way or another.
Joyce, I know how much fun younger grandkids can be. I miss those days. I love my Teen grandkids dearly, but they are so busy with social lives, sports etc I hardly see them now...
Trying to de contaminate my kitchen before the health department shuts me down...đ

I agree! There is NO news that comes out of the White House anymore. It's a total waste of time, and an insult to the intelligence of anyone with even half a brain.

As for President Obama knowing about Putin's interference with the election process as early as he did, he was in a position of damned if you do and damned if you don't. If he made his information public, most of the country would have been just like McConnell was when he was told and not believed it saying Obama was trying to insure a win for Hillary. Now JA and his crew try to use it as ammunition. It was a lose-lose situation all the way around for President Obama. But now that the election is behind us and JA has won anyone sensible would know that we need to get to the bottom of it all. Yet, from everything I hear and read JA shows absolutely no interest whatsoever in trying to secure the election process. Securing the election process is not going to take away his win. It will just make our elections safer for the future. He doesn't care about that though. Seemingly has no interest in it whatsoever.

We have a fake President with a fake administration and a fake first family. Why would I expect a real press briefing?
It's all deceit, lies, and dirty tricks. You're right. It's also an insult to reasonable, thoughtful, sensible people.
Life is too precious and too short for me to waste too much time with this silly and dangerous farce.
I'm tired of being angry at my TV. I have a beautiful fairly new tv. It doesn't deserve that. It's not my tv's fault. lol.

Good morning! The world's still turning and Tweety didn't get us any further into war while we slept (at least not that I've seen reported yet) so it's a good day even if the GOP is trying to take healthcare away from millions. At least they haven't achieved their goal yet, and maybe they won't be able to at all. Just imagine if we woke up some morning and Congress had actually come to its collective senses, and started trying to represent the people. Started working together, and actually seeking each others input. If somehow we would wake up and find that Tweety's being in office was all a bad dream, even if a Republican was in office just one that was not mentally ill and a total sleazebag crook to go along with it. Wouldn't that be a beautiful dream?
Poor Ivanka! It seems the Italians don't like it when she steals their shoe designs. They must not have gotten the memo yet that she and her family rule the world. By the way, whatever happened to those guys who went to China to inspect her factories and disappeared? Did anyone ever find out what happened to them?
Please Justice Kennedy try to hang on until at least after 2020. You're not perfect, but we surely don't need this JA to make another appointment to the bench.

Who gets helped and who gets hurt by the Senate healthcare bill? money.cnn.com/2017/06/23/news/economy/senate-health-care-hurt-helped/index.htmlIf you're an older adult, 50-64 you are screwed, and over 65 your secondary policies are going to be much more expensive. But then Mitch McConnell doesn't have to worry because he won't be using this insurance. If you're poor, you might as well go ahead and order the coffin, because Medicaid is going to be cut so far back that it's going to be even harder to find a doctor who will accept you as a patient. I've written to both my Senators, but that's a waste as neither will listen. At least Corker does send back a canned reply statement which is automatically generated. Alexander doesn't even bother to do that. I've written them both numerous times, and Alexander has NEVER sent any sort of response even once. It is way past time he came back home to Tennessee, and stopped blocking progress in the state. There was a time when he did a fairly good job as governor here, but he has just been coasting so long he doesn't even pretend to be working for the state any more. Yet, since he has an R after his name they just keep voting him back into office.

Tweety called the GOP healthcare plan mean, and now he's upset that President Obama "stole his term" and said the plan had meanness at his core also. Honestly, if it wasn't so serious it really is funny. This guy is just unbelievable. He's a little kid on the playground. You can't say that word because I said it first! Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah . . .

LOL...I was just reading an article about JA accusing President Obama of stealing his term " mean"...Its especially funny that JA basically admitted using the term when Sean Spicer denied it at a press conference earlier, saying, it was just a rumor JA said it & he doesn't discuss what is said behind closed doors. LOL... Nobody but The JA in the Oval Office can shoot themselves in the foot like he can. He is truly a bigly baby! ...And Sean Spicer really is useless like Jim Acosta said!

Well, who can afford a coffin, these days. I totally would not be surprised if Heidi Heidcamp ( ND) flips & votes with GOP on Health Care Bill. She is up for re-election next year & ND is Republican to the core. đ
