This has been a busy week. I won’t be post the next 3 days, we decided to take a couple of days away to celebrate our 44th anniversary. Our main destination is an Amish store in VA. We really enjoy shopping at them.
Hopefully I’ll remember to post my weekend possibilities, I’m sure grocery shopping and laundry will be at the top of the hit parade.

Busy week - Yesterday I was at a potluck with American friends; today I will play cards with women from Italy, Africa, and the USA; and tomorrow I head to Jounieh and Beirut with my husband so he can do whatever it is that he wants to do. I will take a book to read although...hot humid weather sitting in the car doesn't sound fun. - Not sure when I will be able to do laundry since we have not had water delivered by the main water lines for four or five days. We have stored water in tanks but...need to conserve till we get some water.

back from Beirut and a long day of driving. It is warm and humid tonight and there were two hours this afternoon without fans running since there was no electricity. I am hoping to take a shower (if there is enough water) and settle in for the evening. Have not had time to work at home and do need to tackle the dishwasher and sink...sometime.

No water yet today though we still have the "clean" water reservoirs/tanks half full - hopefully there will be water before the end of the weekend. We had electricity all night but expect a cut from 4-6pm today. I only had four hours sleep last night so hope to nap or go to bed earlier tonight. I have two book reviews to post - one written and one to write. I want to take a caftan to Maureen and then we might head to Tripoli so Mounah can look at a fan for the gazebo - I don't see the need for it as we don't sit there and don't have guests to sit there but...we will see...I don't go out there because of mosquitoes, midges, gnats and other insects so perhaps a fan would helpf...if there is electricity. I almost think it would be nicer to have one out under the back covered patio because you step out the kitchen door and are there and don't have to go through the front door and down steps. Maybe if he gets one fan he can get two?
As for cleaning...my goal today is to tackle the accumulated pots, pans, plastic, and such and clear the counters in the kitchen...the polish the sink while the dishwasher is running.

Busy days. Did two loads of laundry and changed bed yesterday. Bought two fans for covered areas outside and next chore, when they are installed, will clean the area in back and make it more inviting in hopes of wanting to spend time out there. Trying to keep up with the kitchen but...not 100% there yet.

Enjoyed a cookout/housewarming at friends' son's home. Proud of him for being a homeowner at age 25! He's a hardworking fellow and he navigated the whole process of bidding, getting a small grant for 1st time homebuyers, and obtaining a mortgage, all on his own.
FlyingCathy: glad you and DH had a good excursion! Where do you get the day old bread to deliver? I'm wondering if anyone does this in my area.
Cathygeha: happy to hear you got the two fans to make your area more comfy!
Sunday possibilities: --church ✅ --make omelette ✅ --decluttering --tackle email --laundry (along with closet project) --practice --walk --wind down early
Be well! Carol

starchild68, We get it at a local bakery called Brecotea. It’s funny you asked today because their is so little left overs that we think we will let them know that because of how far the mission is and the cost of gas, we may need to suspend it. Of course if they start have more day old pastries, we would happy to do it again, but today they had 3 small bags. Originally they had so much we had to put our back seat down. They way it all started is another woman in my church use to eat there and asked what they did with their left overs.

I am trying to keep up with the sink BUT there is an influx of harvested figs all over the counters so...will focus on the sink only at the moment.
The fans are up BUT have LONG extension cords attached to them to make them run. At least they are installed and now...will we ever sit out there under them?
My alarm notified me to do "rat-check" in the basement - have it set to every Monday morning year round after having more rats down there than anyone should ever encounter. No rat droppings and all toilets were topped up/flushed and sinks had water run through them to deter rats from coming through them.
