WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

C75D20, 8485 fitbit steps.
Jan β So happy to hear of your good conversation with DS-16. Iβm sure it felt as good to him as it did to you.
Beth β Your mention of the hot chocolate got me thinking of Brigham's, DHβs favorite ice cream parlor in Boston. He still talks about their hot fudge sundaes. He grew up in Brookline. I just checked on the Internet to see they are no longer in business.
Edesia β It seems every time I shop, I pick up something new. I think the diversity is what Iβm enjoying most. Today I bought of pack of Goldenβs Apple Blinzes. Pretty good nutritional info β same company as the potato pancakes weβve been enjoying with our brisket. Iβm planning on two blinzes for breakfast tomorrow morning.
Happy New Year BFFs. I just hope our country is still in one piece after 2017.

Morning, BFF's! I've been looking back over this past year, in terms of eating, and I feel like so many things have come together in a very positive way. Once I stopped focusing on weight and trying to lose it, some amazing (to me) things started to happen. It was more important to me to find peace with food. This is the first year I did not gain weight. Ever. As a matter of fact, my weight is down from the beginning of last year without trying to make that happen. I have stopped binging entirely. My life isn't filled with food "worries". This is the closest I have ever felt to being "normal" when it comes to food. I still have a ways to go, but I know I am in a different place than I have ever been in my life. It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway, you are all a big part of what got me to this point and I love you all for it.
I also realized that this is the first year I have maintained exercise of any kind. I joined a gym at the end of January and really enjoy it. I think what was key was that when I started, I promised myself not to put any expectations on myself about what I was going to do or how often. I did not want to set myself up for feeling like I wasn't doing what I "should" be doing, e.g. having to work out 3x a week or something like that. Any amount of exercise would be OK and more than I had been doing. If I worked out four times in a week, great. If I made it there once in two weeks, fine. I would only go to the gym when I wanted to. It worked.
So, here's to even more progress in 2017. I wish you all a very happy and healthy New Year. BBL for personals.

Good morning all ~ last day of 2016.
C25. D1. I just have to reset to D1 because I need to get more order and control in my eating. It's been a constant stream of treats and meals. And the scale reflected that big time! I'm going to revisit all the WW materials on line and if there is a WW meeting on Monday (many miles away, but that's all there is), I'm going to attend.
Nancy - Just today and tomorrow between you and C76! Won't be great to be onto a fresh new cycle. Like you, I've been 'clinging' to C25 for months. Good steps yesterday.
EDESIA - Sounds like you had a great day yesterday and that IE is working well. I'm going to download a sample of the book on Kindle. Your DH drives a truck? Pretty common where I live, but less so in the city.
Jan - so glad that you and DS had a talk. I hope that all goes well ~ keeping you in thoughts and prayers.
Beth - Sounds like you are keeping happily busy! Nice to have some time off and to spend playing pickle ball! Enjoying the remodeled kitchen?
Hi to Louise, Cindy, Lori, Jackie, Jane, and all who follow!!
Best,
Kathy

yes Kathy, still TOTALLY loving the new kitchen!
Edesia, what a great re-cap of your amazing progress this year. Congratulations!
Just finished making a portabello mushroom fajita filling to bring to my gathering this afternoon. Also bringing some marinated chicken that i will stir fry there for another filling. Also bringing a small veggie tray. There's only going to be six of us there. REALLLY looking forward to this...i LOVE these folks! (old softball buddies)
DH is happily baking away in the kitchen. He's making his mom's coffee cake recipe and he's making a Cooking Light recipe for Lemon Cake.
Have a good day everybody!

Forgot to say...i felt like making something different for breakfast today so i used my spiralizer on a potato and made hash browns and a couple eggs over easy. A clementine on the side filled it out. Yum! That spiralizer is SUCH a hoot!

Beth - good reminder to bring healthy food to our New Year's Eve gathering. I'm going to run to town to get some fresh fruit and make a nice fruit salad. The hosts make the most incredible meat entree's, taking days to marinade, roast, baste, smoke, etc... a variety of meats, including many that they hunted (deer, goose, duck, turkey) - this family is fabulous conservationists, installing 100's of duck nests in the wetlands all around us. I just respect them so much. And they throw a GREAT New Years Eve party every year. The meat is lean and the fruit will be a good 'side.' It's planned and tracked!
