Ginny, it sounds like you're having some good grandchild time. Yes that would hinder doing quilting for sure. Congrats on being almost done with one of the pillowcases. I'm sure they're beautiful. Here we're not allowed to have fires in a fire pit or even a charcoal grill. We're under a fire ban right now.Firepits sound like a very nice thing to have.
Dggd is finally starting to eat on her own. They took out the feeding tube so she must be eating enough.I asked if she'd lost weight but dgd said she didn't know. I'm sure they weigh her every day there. When my kids were infants I had a baby scale and weighed them every day.No one does that anymore. If breast feeding I would think they would weigh before and after to see how much the baby ate.
Last evening I made a pair of bib overalls for the cabbage patch doll. You wouldn't believe how cute they are! I'm going to make some for the others. They're really easy too and I can use the same idea to make some "bib skirts" too. Today I'm going to make shirts to go with them and more overalls.
Cool here today too. It's 66 right now according to my thermometer.
I hate when I can't see page 2 because I have a bad memory.
Have a great day all. I'm not sure if we have any plans for today or not but I do hope to get a little laundry done
Thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers for dggd.

Ruth, its wonderful news that DGGD is doing well and eating on her own. THink you are right, no one (unless there is a medical need) weighs babies daily anymore. I do think that they are now trying to shy away from the constant weighing at home to reduce stress....Oh, I know its so important for a newborn to eat enough and gain- but its also not a good thing for a new mom to obsess over it. I pray that DGD and DGGD continue to do well, and that they can go home together soon!!
Long story but DD and the kids are sleeping her tonight - the house is under renovation and it just makes more sense for them to be here as the house is chaos.
Long day and I am tired.
Hi to Phyl, CJ and Meg... Ginny

Nurses told my dgd that in their experience they would say the baby had to stay until Monday or Tues BUT God knew better and she did so well that they were able to go home today. Yes my dil used to stress a lot about her children not eating when newborns even with the 7th one. Ginny, I hope things get done and ironed out so everyone can go back home again. I know having the grandchildren over is a lot of enjoyment but it gets tiring after awhile for those of us that are older. People say that's why God gave us menopause

Good morning! Ruth, that is awesome news that DGD and DGGD can go home! I hope that DGD can relax and enjoy her daughter and not stress out about feeding her. Its tough enough nursing a baby- and then to also worry about not feeding enough adds to a joyful but challenging time. Guess I am hypersensitive to it- of my 3, 2 were great eaters. My MIL constantly nagged me about breastfeeding, telling me it was better to bottle feed. She was a rather odd person, however...but it makes me very defensive of breast feeding mothers.
Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday Ginny

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all enjoying your weekend Ginny - That weather sounds lovely, I like temps in the 60s too. Hope you enjoyed the time with your DD and DG kids. I never asked if your pillowcases were stamped embroidery or did you design them yourselves? I was looking at some embroidery websites yesterday because I was thinking it would be fun to do an embroidery stitch sampler. Ruth - I'm so happy to hear that your DGGD is doing well and I hope she and her mother can go home soon. My weather was in the 60s too. Those bib overalls sound cute and just right for a Cabbage Patch Doll. I bought one of those during the "craze" when they were popular. I always forget what's on the page before in our thread too Meg and Phyl - Hope you are getting some crafting in. Yesterday's weather was so nice here, in the 60s. We did have some rain and wind, but I was able to have the windows open all day and it cooled the house off nicely. I slept really well too since I didn't have to have the AC on. I think the noise of that, and worrying about what I can't hear in the house because of it, is what is keeping me up. I haven't done any crafting but I spent a lot of time on the Internet yesterday looking at quilting and embroidery websites - so I'm counting that as crafting. I was watching CBS Sunday Morning today and they did a segment on lobster rolls and frozen custard - now I want a lobster roll and some frozen custard Take care everyone!

My dgd is a very laid back person and doesn't stress much so I think she'll do well. She works with deveopmentally delayed presons so she's also very patient.
CJ, I've never had a lobster roll. I think I only tasted lobster twice and didn't care for it. Now frozen custard on the other hand is something I love. Back when we used to go camping in the Adirondacks there was a place in town that sold frozen custard and had a featured flavor every day. We went into town a lot to get that.I sure would love to go to the Adirondacks again. It's so beautiful there and it was so much fun (aside from the frozen custard)
I made the cp shirt yesterday but it was too big. Instead of taking it apart I improvised. I think it will fit the larger cp doll better than the one I tried it on but I revised the pattern and will make another today. I also want to make a new pair of the overalls and make them larger but for that I'll just use a larger hook.I have three sizes of cp dolls
CJ, I remember years back I was in a K Mart and there was a man picking up this doll to buy. I told my dh "his kids aren't going to like that doll. It's way too ugly". Well it was a cabbage patch doll and right after that the "craze" hit and the prices went to the roof.Somehow my dd ended up with several of them...long story... I didn't buy them.. and since then I've bought a couple at garage sales and one at a consignment ship. Now that I'm trying to clear I've decided on this plan to send them to the grandaughters and will save my newest and smallest for Ava. (my dgd had planned on naming her Octavia and only decided a couple weeks ago to go back to Ava which she originally had planned as the name)
CJ, all kidding aside, I think that looking online really is crafting because it gives us ideas, instructions and directions.
I'm really concerned about Meg. I'd say it's a computer issue. She said Devin had a tablet but I'm sure it would be hard for Meg to use with her eyesight being what it is. I do pray she's ok

Good evening!
CJ- indeed looking at embroidery designs is crafting! As Ruth said that is how we gain ideas and inspiration....so glad your weather has cooled down a bit too. It sure is lovely having open windows.
Ruth, I too am concerned about Meg- and like you are hoping that it is just computer problems. BTW, I love the name Ava!
Crazy day- got to church after DD and the kids left then watched a movie with Dh and Dd. Worked on the pillowcase then. Almost done with the first one! Hope everyone has a great evening Ginny

Ginny, I have Meg's address but not her phone number. I'd be a little hesitant to call her anyway because there are people that don't like getting unsolicited phone calls even from such wonderful people as us . Just kidding about the wonderful people, altho we are, but many wouldn't appreciate people calling unless they've given permission previously I'm glad to hear you were able to sit and relax with dh and watch a movie with him and work on your embroidery. Isn't it great though that we can meet people we've really never met in person and care a lot about them and worry abuot them when we don'thear from then all of a sudden. Not great about the worry part but great that we come to care enough to do so
