We are a group of like-minded people that gather to discuss a host of topics from weight loss, to current events. Our thread celebrates liberal diversity, welcomes new friends, and respects all opinions. We count everything from calories to points but, we never count our chickens before they are hatched. * * * * * * Putting a few days together here. Hope no one minds, if so please feel free to start a new thread. But I'm not sure whether or not I'm going to be able to make it here for the next 2 or 3 days, and I know Linda is busy with her family's visit and upcoming anniversary celebration.

I think we all agree that JA is simply beyond words to describe. His behavior becomes more and more outlandish and despicable. He shows no respect for the rule of law, chain of command, or just plain common decency.
Do you think this sudden issue with transgender people serving in the military is simply a distraction for him? I can't imagine he really cares one way or the other. Certainly he didn't seem to think it was an issue when he was running for the office. My thoughts are that it is just another smoke screen he's throwing out there to distract attention. In the meantime, he could care less how many people he hurts. He thinks this will resonate with his far right base, and with Fox starting to show cracks in their devotion to him as well as more and more Rs on Capitol Hill speaking out about his attacks on Sessions he's afraid he might start to lose a little of his base's fanatic devotion. Also it gets people talking about something other than Russia/collusion/money laundering, etc for a little while.
Disgusting doesn't even begin to describe him. What also really worries me is that he'll jump the gun and start a war somewhere simply to try to divert attention from the investigation and his failures in getting any legislation passed. He wouldn't care how many people it killed or maimed because he thinks only of himself.

As much as I dislike Sessions, I hope he stays strong and does not resign. Hope he will force JA's hand and make him fire him if he wants him gone. Interesting comment from someone who has worked for JA in the past (don't remember the guy's name) that typically JA does not fire people but rather makes their life so miserable they are forced to quit.. He is a coward and a bully.

Yup! I agree with everything you said, Joyce. This is yet another distraction. Also red meat for his faithful followers. The guy belongs in a rubber room and the key needs to be destroyed.
It more than disgusts me that so many of our elected officials have no problem throwing the people that voted for them under a bus. If anybody needs to be crushed and crumbled it's the demented and dangerous crack pot desecrating The People's House!
I'd like all those that protested and made their voice heard to keep in mind there is a much easier way to deal with spineless, weak, greedy, wimps who don't even hear you. STOP voting for them already! Easy Peasy.

With this Mooch guy the WH is starting to sound more and more like a bad episode of The Sopranos, although Tony would have shown more class than the JA and his new buddy demonstrate. Honestly, the rest of the world must be laughing their heads off at us. It is embarrassing! "The fish stinks from the head down." So is Reince going to wake up to find a fish in his bed?

And now a Boy Scout official is apologizing for JA's speech to the Scouts. How screwed up is that?! He should be apologizing to the Scouts. Instead he leaves a Scout official to apologize to the parents and the public for what with ever other President has always been words of encouragement regarding Scouting and the principles it teaches. Everything he gets near is smeared with his slime.

I'm sorry but how does it make sense to gamble with people's lives by voting for a bill you are publicly stating will be a disaster on the chance that it won't actually become law. This is people's lives you are gambling with!

"Everything he gets near is smeared with his slime."
He's going to be here on Long Island tomorrow. He'll be one town away from ours. Get this. He's going to be talking about gang violence. A violent thug discussing violent gangs. What's with that?
Sadly, we do have pockets of dangerous and deadly gangs in some areas, and the town he'll be in tomorrow is one of them. Beautiful young teenage girls were murdered by a gang not too long ago over there. Like all bullies they thrive on notoriety. Their name and chilling symbol have been all over the news lately, because the Thug In Chief will be here tomorrow to blah, blah, blah, lie, lie, lie, and say stupid things while smearing his slime all over Long Island.
If I were a betting women I'd put money on him mentioning their name, showing their demented symbol, and giving them exactly what they want. Fame and power. Goddess help us!
The Slime In Chief is so afraid of this gang his route is a big secret. I'm surprised he didn't ask to borrow the Pope Mobile. He doesn't have to worry though. He's probably their hero. He has a lot more in common with dangerous, deadly, bullies and thugs than he does with the Boy Scouts.
Many protest are planned.
This JA is exhausting.

Haven't been around posting in awhile. If I dwell on the liar/idiot/fool/asshole-in-chief for long I become filled with hate and ugly thoughts. He is like the nightmare that will not end. His daily behavior shows the truth in Hillary's statement that drumpf never had the temperament to be president. He does not deserve to be in the WH, he soils the very ground he walks on and is ruining the office of president.
His act yesterday in tweeting an 'order' against Transgenders without any backing of law, generals or staff was cruel, inhuman and despicable.
I only hope we get to see the day his tiny hands are placed in handcuffs.

"This is people's lives you are gambling with!"
Joyce, isn't it obvious the rep/cons don't give a rat's about the lives of the common people? They simply don't care. Do you remember what Mitch said when President Obama was elected the first time? I do. He said all he wants to do is get Obama. What better way to do that than to shred the ACA?
It's not about the lives or health care of US citizens. We're not even a fleeting thought in the mind of these vengeful, two-faced, jealous, tyrants. Even now it's still about getting Obama. That's how deep their hatred goes. That kind of red hot hate scares the hell out of me, gives me goose bumps, and keeps me awake at night.
With Mitch, the GOP, and the JA it seems personal, doesn't it? How screwed up is that?

"And now a Boy Scout official is apologizing for JA's speech to the Scouts."
Not only do women need to find a safe place when the JA is out and about our children need to find shelter too! @@ How long will this go on?
And another thing. lol. Where's the outrage from all those holy roller evangelicals when this White House spews out language most sailors wouldn't dream of saying in public? Where are they? Deplorable hypocrites. What do they tell their children when asked, "Daddy, what does blankety blankety blank mean?"
There are many critters living in and around swamps that are more disciplined, patient, and levelheaded, than most of the people slithering and crawling around this WH. They ARE the swamp! Bottom feeders and vandals busy sucking up to that clear and present danger who leaves a trail of slime (thank you, Joyce) wherever he lurks.
We have no dignity. All gone. What's next to go?

Oh my goodness, the bad soap opera never ends! We've all expected Reince to be gone, and now it's happened. I don't know much about the retired General Kelly. Can he do any better? I don't really see how, as the problem is the lack of leadership at the very top, and that's not going to change. Of course Reince is out there trying to say nice things about the JA, but everyone knows it's because at 45 years old he still has a long career ahead of him. He hitched his star long ago to the Republican party, and now he simply can't afford to have the JA destroy his future career which is exactly what would happen if he doesn't go out announcing to the world how great the JA is. It must really suck to have to do that.
With Reince gone now, will Bannon be far behind? Will there be a power struggle between the General and the Mooch? If so, something tells me it would be best to place your bet on the General in that scenario. The Mooch is too much like the JA. He's going to end up destroying himself.

Linda, I hope you will thoroughly enjoy your celebration today! I'm toasting you with a mug of coffee right now. Me too! I'm so far out of the loop for the same reasons PB mentioned, it looks like I'm missing other things as well.
