Today is here, awaiting you to give it meaning and purpose. What will your day be? ๐ฆ
What can you do today to become healthier, lose weight, or maintain your weight loss? How will you accomplish it?
Since Thursday is almost here, I thought that I get our thread started. Caught Oprah's appreance on the Dr. Oz show on Wednesday. She was genuinely vulnerable at times as she spoke about her struggle with food. Loved the personal insights and stories that she shared. One remark struck a deep chord with me. She never stopped believing that she could lose weight despite her past yo-yo weight cycles.
Here was my personal take-away Getting in touch with that "can do" attitude may seem a little daunting after the "holidaze" or life change.Yet each one of us has that spark- that belief. You know that you do, because it is what brought you to WW, propelled you toward your goal, and keeps you here.
Believe-- believe that today you can. You can set a goal, shape a plan, take action, and feel good about your effort. You know that you can, because you have already done so.

Today: start thinking about what routine will best support my health goals
How: will use what works best for me-- pen & paper brainstorming-- to draft a schedule that makes weight loss/management on the short list of my priorities.

June, I agree with if you never quit believing you can do something. I will have to go watch it. Thanks! On your How, we have to remember that what works for one, may not work for another.
How - Got the AWARE glasses on, dancing the water conga.
My house has been declared a Healthy Eating Zone!
Hope AWF have a great day and pick up a tidbit to put into your bag of knowledge.

Good morning June Bee and AWF.
June it's very refreshing and helpful to jot down those priorities. I keep mine right by my chair where I read. It's where I spend most of my down time.
Yeah Bee on declaring your home a Healthy Eating zone.
The other day I picked up all the 'fixings' for a veggie soup. I had 'good intentions' of doing it yesterday, but it just didn't happen. That will be my FIRST priority on Friday. I'll put it in small containers and freeze it for future use. LOL.
I really feel the need to get to and stay for my WW'er meeting today, regardless of what the tin box tells me.
Wishing all that follow a great Thursday!

Good morning. June I wish I would have seen Oprah on tv.....I always got her even though some people didn't ( yo Yoer here ) as for me , her and some losing is easier than keeping the weight off as we have discussed so many times... Good for you seeing it..
Bee. I m glad you allow us here to borrow those glasses even though sometimes mine gets a little dirty.
I tracked so good yesterday now let's keep it up.
I'm on the recumbent bike I skipped the treadmill today as I do sometimes to shake things up...
How : having a repeat of yesterday.....

Ann we must of been posting the same time..Vegtable soup sounds really good here in Pa. Good luck at the Metal Monster...we had one of our girls that lost a lot of weight taught on Saturday as our leader had foot surgery and she said she always said to herself she amagined it as a Compass if it went to the South or North on which way to go....I thought that was a pretty good idea....

Bee- love your perspective-- a healthy eating zone! How were your squash/ egg rings? I use to roast acorn squash rings and plate them w/ a center of mixed vegetables, sweet potaoes, or roasted carrots for added "color" & interest on my plate in the fall. Yep, no single tactic or strategy works for all. Never has, never will.
Ann- the making of vegetable soup sometimes happens that way. Why is that we are often least motivated to cook after we grocery shop? Your house will smell when the soup is on the stove. And have some soup in the freezer will come in handy. Do you remember when starting an evening meal w/ soup was highlighted on the WW sample mix & match menu planner?
Naomi- great idea to mix up your exercise routine. You really have commitment! What a great way to look at the scale--as a compass. That's a keeper! Thanks for sharing. Sending out a prayer for your WW leader. I would have absolutely dreaded trying to get out & about w/ a post- surgical boot & walking device in the winter. Can not tell you how many times that I have been thankful that I am at this stage of my recovery now. Naomi, yo- yoing has been my speciality. So I really can relate to what Oprah shared.

Back again. I just took a peek at my wii and I'm down .6 Now I'll see what the 'mother-load' of TB's will tell me at Weight Watchers LOL.
LOL to being a yo yo'er. You can give this gal a gold star and an A+ in that department. What I like about Oprah is that she is down to earth. I didn't see the program, but I do listen to her 'talks' via the WW'er board.
Yes I do remember starting a meal with a cup of veggie soup or broth. I should go back to doing that, June. Thanks for that reminder!
Awesome job on your exercise routing, Naomi. I really need to work on that. I have a garmin that I wear all the time. I WAS getting 72 fit points a week. This week I got a whopping 32!!!!! Sheesh....just color me a couch potato.
Have a great day!

Ann- enjoy your meeting. Will join you in becoming more active. Going to shoe store to get a pair of new tennis shoe since the swelling in my left foot is now minimal. Hoping that I can start adding steps to my day & wear regular shoes!

Good Morning everyone!
After yoyoing around for the past month or so the scale finally has me at 90 pounds lost as of this morning! Finally! It just goes to show that KOKO does work!
Another exciting thing going on in my life this morning is the possibility of SNOW in SC! You know how we southerners get when the S word is mentioned! They are forecasting it to start during the night Friday into Saturday so we shall see!!
June, Thank you for reminding me about the Oprah segment. I need to see if I can find it online and view. I've seen a few of her new commercials and I like. Hope your day of brainstorming goes well:)
Bee, great job on that healthy eating zone!! I'm going to do the same.
Ann, continuing thoughts/prayers for you as you get ready for your surgery. Congrats on being down on the scale! Great job!
Naomi, good for you shaking up the old exercise routine. KOKO:)
CBL:)

Iโll have to see if I can get that on my computer, June. You can do anything you believe you can do. Nothing like a new pair of sneakers to get you motivated! With you on the water conga Bee. Your awareness glasses have helped all of us! It was a good meeting last night Ann. Hope you enjoy as well. Naomi โ Hope you have a great repeat. Good job on the exercise. LaDonna - That is awesome! Congratulations to you. I am beyond excited. DGF and I have front row center seats for Cirque du Soleilโs Ka next month in Las Vegas and I am taking a 14 hour bus tour of the Grand Canyon South Rim while I am there.

Here is the site to watch Oprah on Dr. Oz yesterday. www.doctoroz.com/episode/oz-exclusive-hour-oprahI appreciated that she made the statement, that she is no longer at war with her weight --- or something to that effect. I found it to be a very good watch!
