As a calorie counter and one who needs to be aware of sodium content, the lack of NI is a deal breaker for me, too. Pretty incomprehensible, considering almost every online recipe source and publication now includes NI. Even old-school publications like Good Housekeeping, fer crapsake. I am a cookbook nut and have many that do not contain NI. "Around My French Table" by Dorie Greenspan, for example. I would have been surprised if it had included NI---surprised and delighted, but no. I fully expected the lack of NI and accept that, if I want NI, I need to input the recipes into a recipe analyzer. So be it. A cookbook purporting to support a healthy lifestyle? Well, yeah, I would expect NI. God, WW---should we never expect anything better from you??

Yeah, that is too bad about the NI and I'm really not sure why they'd have made that choice. I'm generalizing of course, but I'd think there would be a pretty significant number of weight watcher members that need to watch carbs and/or sodium because of diabetes, prediabetes or high blood pressure. And they give calories so it's not like they're trying to force calorie counters to do WW instead. Odd.
I have the ebook on hold from the library. It's not the kind of book I'd pay for but I'm looking forward to reading it.

There are 2 recipes for truffle tortelloni. The first is 12 points per serving and the second has 11. One point less isn't reduced enough for me. It is a great recipe but more time consuming. The asparagus with morels and mint pesto is 9 per serving and inspired by Chef Jean-George's Voneihteb. All three are ones I would order but not prepare.of the 3 desserts not counting sorbet, one has 13 SP. None of my really good cookbooks have NI but I've been able to figure out recipe points and determine if they have too much fat or sugar. Yes, the recipes for exotic fungus were a turn off - why? I've got to thinking about it, and have come to the conclusion that this is an Oprah book, not a WW book. Why Oprah's "people" would omit the NI is just mind boggling. In any event, I still like the book.

IMO Oprah has a pleasant way of communicating so it is a enjoyable read.The chef's last name is Vongerichten. I'm not sure how it got garbled.

This isn't a WW cookbook. It's a celebrity cookbook aimed at WW members. Celebrity cookbooks don't usually include NI because they're really selling a lifestyle and not health information. Her book includes points because it's a way to promote WW and would be hypocritical if she didn't include such information.

Just as a point of information:
WW is not the publisher, so the absence of NI is "not WW's fault" but Oprah's and her editor at the publisher.

I've been using the unfried chicken recipe for years. i agree that it is not a WW cookbook but Oprah's cookbook that is being promoted by WW. The inclusion of smart points lets you see if it fits into your daily number of points but it is so much more than typical WW cookbooks.

Was kind of hectic at WW meeting last week when I bought Oprah's cookbook. Last night in my leader's weekly email, in her "Sales" section, she said the cookbook's Special Introductory Offer includes the Jan/Feb issue of WW Magazine. Will have to ask when I go if I can get the magazine, or if the offer just went into effect this week. Peggy, you can get the book a lot cheaper on Amazon or at Costco. I got the magazine for $5 a year through a Hearst publishing offer. I heard about the WW "deal" when I went to the LT members meeting. The book is $16.99 from Amazon. \
