Good evening! Been a long day- my MIl was admitted to the hospital today- they are running tests- not sure what the problem is at the moment- might be gall bladder or kidney issues.
The good part is that I am getting lots of crochetting done waiting in the hospital.
Ruth- that is amazing that they have gotten so many blankets for New Guinea. Glad you got some crochetting done....and I enjoyed reading how you ended up with your stash of yarn.
Yup- Phyl- don't let the know it alls ruin your day! Sorry that no one liked that block ....
CJ- gee you are a ball of fire! I am impressed with how you seem to be creating something from nothing- using up all your scraps. What an inspiration to me!
Long day and I am tired....Hi Meg! Ginny

Ginny, I'll be praying for your MIl. I hope they find answers that can be easily treated.

Today my crafting time was used for looking up directions for polar fleece hats. I found a lot of good ones and some not so good. Now I'm going to do a little crocheting.
I'm also watching football and was hoping for a miracle where the Texans won but that's not going to happen. I really dislike the Patriots.

Good morning!
Ruth, thanks for your prayers- I really do appreciate them. They are doing further testing on MIL who now, it seems will be in the hospital at least until Monday. Sorry that the football game did not go the way you wanted it to. Perhaps one of the teams that wins today can give you a team that you do not mind winning. It's tough to watch football if you dislike the teams playing.
Busy day for me.....church this am and becasue I am going to a church in another town today (DSIL will be preaching there) I will head up to see MIL after church . Hope when I get home I can put away the groceries that did not get put away yesterday (because we got the call about MIL) and settle down - crochet and watch some football.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are doing well today Ginny - I hope you MIL will be alright, I'll keep her and your family in my thoughts and prayers. If there is a benefit to sitting in a hospital, getting to crochet has to be it. Ruth - Hope you found a good pattern, and good luck to your football team. Meg, Phyl and Gail - hope you are all enjoying your weekend and getting to do some crafting. I finished going through all my quilting books, and have made a list of the patterns I saw that I would really want to make a quilt from. Hopefully I can make some of these this year. For Slow Stitch Sunday, I'm working on finishing the embroidery of those candy canes I've been talking about for over a month now I really want to finish them so I can get to something else. Take care everyone.

CJ- you are an inspiration to me! I love how you are so organized and are actually prioritizing your quilts. It gives your quilting a real purpose- and timeframe. Perhaps some of your organization will rub off on me!
Got more crochetting done- yes, plenty of time in the hospital to do that. MIL is still undergoing testing. Her room is in the cancer ward- and although noone is saying that is her diagnosis yet (waiting for testing) it is highly likely that that is what she has.
Meg, Ruth, Phyl and Gail- hope you are getting some crafting time in.
Going to watch football and crochet. Ginny

I purposely left my computer downstairs when I came up this morning so that I would be forced to do crocheting but that didn't happen. After the Bible study my dh woke...he has odd sleeping pattern... so we visited for awhile then I got my computer and have been posting on the threads I post too. I'm also watching football so as soon as I'm done here I'll get the crocheting out. It's right here beside me
Ginny I will continue to pray for your MIL. I've stopped just now and did that.
CJ, you are an inspiraton to me too. I do need to make another list of what I want to get done and get all the supplies together for each thing then I can just pick up the bundle and work on whatever it is that I want to work on that day or time. That's what usually keeps me from going to a new project is the finding the right yarn and hooks that are needed. It would be good to have all the colors of yarn for several project put toghether like you're doing with your quilts. And yes, the using up of leftover yarn....great thing to do!
I don't think Meg has been here in awhile. We've seen Phyl but Meg has been missing. I hope she's ok. I know she's on some other threads but they're not ones that I participate in so I haven't seen her.

I am still around but have not been posting as much this week.
Ginny, I am sorry about your MIL and hope she is doing better. I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers. If it is gall baldder or kidneys I know that can be very painful. Good for you taking your crocheting with you to work on while you wait. It will help keep you relaxed.
Ruth, I have been reading a lot this week. Also I want to spend less time on the computer. Today as it was cloudy this afternoon I made a trip to Michaels for yarn to finish my b/blanket. They had a sale so I bought some other yarn for b/blankets as I don't want to just work in pink as I want a little variety or I will get bored. Their Christmas stuff was still on sale so I bought some very nice Christmas cards for next Christmas. They were 80% off. The store was really busy. When I left the store the sun decided to come out and it bothers my eyes at certain times of the day. But I got home OK. I usually don't drive mid to late afternoon.
Now I am going to the library website and try and find an audio book so that I can work on my b/blanket. I have managed to get quite a lot of knitting time this past week. Have a good evening everyone.

Meg, yes working in one color really can get boring. AS for computer i do find that I spend way too much time on it now that I don't have to share with dh. I too have a problem driving when the sun is right where I have to drive into it. One day I had to go to another store just to use up the time so the sun would be lower. I can't wait too long because I can't drive in the dark either. Isn't getting old fun?
Oh and I have a good book I'm reading online. I still haven't gotten audiobooks which sure would be good for listening to while doing needlework...like you do.
