Good morning.
I didn't get enough sleep again today. And I felt SO GOOD at work last night after getting sleep. How disappointing!
DH started gluing down the marble tile in the back entryway. He removed the closet door to do the work and I am seriously considering having him leave the door off. It makes the entry look so much less claustrophobic! The closet is roughly the same size as the outer area, it has a window, which adds light. And it effectively doubles the space back there. Of course, the scope of the project would expand just a little bit....I would have him build a box around a pipe, drop the ceiling slightly with beadboard, and build a bench to sit on for removing shoes. Then a coat of paint and we would be golden.
Am really looking forward to my week off. I have so much to do. Hoping that I can get my sleep turned around efficiently. That makes all the difference in my productivity.
LOUISE- Sounds like you and SANDY are going to be the ones to beat this challenge! Way to go!

CONNIE that sounds like a great idea for that closet! I hope you get turned around easily and make the most of your week off. Remember some r&r too.

SUZE there are so many similarities between this and Paleo which is very low on the same carbs. But broccoli and cabbage and mushrooms and snap peas and freaking ASPARAGUS.... And onions and garlic? This is SO DAMN hard. I know I'm whining about it but sheeeeeesh. But I have to say between that and the peppermint "medical food" I am improving somewhat. Obviously we know that legumes and the cabbage family causes issues for lots of people. But ONIONS and GARLIC? PUH-leeeeeze.
But as far as weight loss, you had it in one... LESS OF EVERYTHING. Amen on that.
BECKY I misread something you posted. I thought if you went ahead to next week it would show you the new points. That's why I thought 30. I guess I'll find out the real verdict on Wednesday. And since Almond milk is fine on the FODMAP, that's what I'm having. I'm not that much of a yogurt person. And I agree... that's way too carby for me.

CONNIE those "drop zones" or "mud-closets" are so in right now. I like the idea of a bench (w/ a hinged lid for storage). I looked into having one built for my rental and I was SO not paying $750!! Not like I'll ever get to use it.
SANDY bummer they wouldn't let you buy the floor model. And one thing I find about furniture... USUALLY they say "Oh 2 weeks" and it's really 4 weeks.
EXCEPT... my mattress. In my quest for better sleep, I ordered this Charles P Rodgers mattress (sight unseen mind you). Consumer Reports gave it the highest rating. And it is supposed to be very firm. Mine now is perfect shape but TOO SOFT. So the mattress is factory to customer and it left New Jersey about a week ago and they're delivering it tomorrow as promised. I'll have to leave my car outside b/c the only downside is, they don't take the mattress and box springs away. I figure, this can only help. Desperate times call for desperate measures!!
AM: 2 coffees w/ stevia and coconut milk Meal 1: 2 eggs, 4 bacons, 2 gluten free breads toasted Meal 2: rice (yuck I hate rice), pork loin glazed w/ maple syrup (I'd rather have GARLIC thank you very much), roasted eggplant dipped in a mayo, dill cucumber sauce (kind of tzaziki but w/o the yogurt). Only a couple of episodes of cramping and lots less bloating.
TOmorrow I'm making a big pot of vegetable beef soup. I have my left over turkey bone broth so I'll use that as a base. Actually looking forward to that. I'll have to limit my green beans but mostly it should be OK. Now if we could have some cold weather to go w/ the SOUP!!
Well I'm getting ready for bed in a few. Night ladies. PS: already blew my DietBet but still on track for my StepBet. Maybe one will cover the other plus the $10 to the winner on here.

CELESTE- You can have my cold weather. It's in the 30s every night here. Next weekend the temps will fall into the 20s and teens overnight. I hate cold weather.
SANDY- loved the pics from your day.

I am SO ready for cold weather! We need to rid of these pesky lady beetles and wasps. And I just like some cold.
Nothing on my plate today. I got up and did some banking things and put a load of pet stuff in the washer. May go to lunch later with robbie we shall see. Resting up for three appointments (and lugging my scooter around) tomorrow.
Enjoy the day!

Good morning ladies,
Worked 1/2 day yesterday at the middle school fair. My friend and I stopped at Cheddars and got a veggie plate and was able to just sit and rest before coming home. My first mistake was sitting down and I fell asleep on the couch. Z was out with the girlfriend & A had a swim meet. Didn't get anything done yesterday.
Not going to church this morning. I'm guessing what I'm feeling is going to be bronchitis. I'll give it today and then go in to the after hours clinic tomorrow night. I leave Wed for Nashville and do not want to get there and not have my meds.
Sandy, pics were really cute. Making memories for KM.
For all of you liking cold weather, it seems to be coming. I am not looking forward to it at all. My body hurts when it's cold.
Need to find something to eat that won't make me feel worse than I feel now. Also have laundry & school work to get done today, but I'm staying in my pjs. I'm going to try the WalMart pick up groceries, so I need to get the list started to pick up tomorrow after work.
BBL. Waves to all.

CONNIE I'd love your cold weather. For maybe 3 days. And maybe some rain since we're now in drought conditions again. All the rainfall Texas was supposed to get was dropped on Houston during Harvey.
HAPPY B/DAY TO YOUR DD, LOUISE (My honorary niece).
SUZE is a lady beetle a lady bug? Cuz they're not pesky. They're cute... and good. And wasps aren't the issue here, it's skeeters. I killed one in my bedroom as I lay in bed reading.
STEPH my body gets stiff and achy when the weather is going to change (impending rain etc). But once the cold or rain gets here, the aches tame down. My local new, fancy WM offers that pick up service. I'm anxious to see how you like it.
Coffee... gotta get more coffee.

ROLL TIDE

Post by bighairtexan on Dec 3, 2017 21:08:32 GMT
LOUISE I had to ask Bob,"Bama isn't playing today are they?" And he told me they made it into the top 4 today, and said ROLL TIDE.
I absolutely NEED to get 3500 steps in today to keep in my StepBet. But it seems so HOT out there. It's kind of muggy.
Oh and in that category: be careful what you wish for. I moved to TX and bought a Tempurpedic. It was way too HOT and too hard. First you sink in it, then it's like molded cement!
So after 2 years, I got rid of it and got a Stearnes and Foster. Not a pillow top but a "plush top" which was supposed to be soft on top and then firm. But it isn't actually FIRM IMHO. So today I got my Charles P Rodgers mattress and it's a pillow top. Over LEAD apparently. Good thing I can't sleep anyway, so I can't blame it on Charles P!!

I'm glad you are feeling some better Celeste.Of course the ff plain Greek or regular yogurt is 0 points but none of the flavored ones. You will probably get 23 points since so many foods are 0 points. You have to set your computer's date ahead to see your points.Good luck on the FODMAP diet.I never went the gluten free route when I cut out certain foods.
Happy Birthday to DD Louise.
We went to church and out to eat.I went for a walk this afternoon.
We are supposed to get 2 mornings in the upper 30's.Today was nice and tomorrow will be too. It's Monday night into Tuesday morning we are expecting a little rain.I will be glad to have some humidity in the air b/c my nose has been so dry.
