If anyone sees my missing post, just call me at....469...353.... I swear I posted.
So SANDY I did decide to go to STL for Christmas and weirdly there was 1 seat left 1st class on the flight I wanted going to STL and WEIRDLY 1st was only $65 more than coach!! It was meant to be. And you go ahead and CRY GIRL! It's still new and raw. Don't bottle it all up.
HAHAHA SUZE what it was REALLY REALLY supposed to say is "I love Honey... and HONEY, can I lick your foot?" You didn't know about my foot fetish. Especially one w/ gaping surgical wounds!!
ANGIE not to sound petty ( but I AM!!) Kristin's mother flies up there from houston at the drop of a hat. Which actually pisses off both Kristin and my son. So I didn't want to be "one of those" mothers. But Ryan and I had a heart to heart and he said that he AND KRISTIN want me to come up there; that they didn't really want to spend Christmas all by themselves but didn't also want a big crowd. So I'm going. And yeah in this case at this time of the year, I think you dodged a bullet by being able to stay at home.
GREAT LOUISE I have no idea what you're doing on Wednesday.
CONNIE I agree about getting away from the artificialities of tracking and measuring. But I do have trouble b/c I'm such a damn FAST eater. Congrats on a good check up.
BECKY dreary and cold and ugly and I am taking today as my "off day" as far as getting in my steps for Stepbet.

Celeste I got exercise on my recumbent bike but no way will I get 10,000 steps. That's okay b/c I'm in a Facebook challenge where we only have to get in 30 min a day 5 days a week but most of us usually get most if not all 7 days in.Did you decide to go to WW or stay with your strict "do not eat that" healthy diet?I'm not switching over all at once to the new plan.I'm going to do it a little at a time.It is nice not having to track every thing I put in my mouth.I wasn't even on the plan yesterday b/c it wasn't changing until today and they still gave me 4 rollover points which do me no good since I have my fit points to come out first.

Oh OK I forgot. I did go to WW this afternoon. It was mostly a case of distribute the info and then Q&A. One GOOD question someone asked was "during the testing phase did anyone GAIN weight?" And the answer was ABSOLUTELY YES. As she said "too much chicken breast, fruit, eggs, whatever is TOO much" and she enforced that you must eat until satisfied, eat slowly. etc. She said one person was having 10 eggs for breakfast!!!! B/c she COULD... and she did gain weight. So she said watch your corn, beans, peas, fruit and anything else that you would potentially abuse. Most people didn't gain weight on chicken/turkey breasts and green veggies which they hope are going to be the core of the diet.
My phone app and laptop are still on the old system. I was told on chat that it would reset on my weigh in day which says Friday b/c that's when I signed up. Right now it's frozen so you don't have the ability to reset your weigh in day and until then you are stuck in the old program. Kind of irritating. I chatted and asked if there was no other way to reset my day to sync w/ my 1st weigh in today? No way so sorry. You'll have to wait until SUNDAY they said (but they have my WI day as Friday. They're VERY confused. In fact I went to chat on my laptop and got "Hi I'm CONNIE can I help you?" and i asked my question. 5 min went past and I typed TAP TAP TAP is this thing on?" then I got "you've been inactive, if you want to stay in chat, continue with your typing." So TAP TAP TAP... HELLLLLOOO??? WORST CHAT EVER!!"
So I'll go over my literature but I'm really not going to bother until I can track and figure out new SP's OH and also they said basically none of the old points values on foods have changed other than the new 0 SP as far as she could recall. She's also a regional manager type person who only does 1 meeting/week. She's really good and as I said, I'm driving PAST my local meeting to go to her meeting. But going this week, other than getting the "stuff" wasn't really worth my while.
BUT my nutritional therapy consultant was on the exact same page as my GI doctor and other than she doesn't believe in those expensive abx, she came up w/ the same diagnosis except they added "adrenal insufficiency" which I have to look up. But it's treated w/ food and supplements (which she recommends but doesn't sell). At least she and my doctor are on the same page if not the same paragraph.

I'm glad they are on the same page.Maybe you can get off that diet soon.My WI isn't until Saturday but they switched me over to new plan today already.I loved your post on FB about the list of foods.

Got my Christmas village set up on the buffet in the dining room, the nativity on the living room table, the stockings and mantle decorations in the parlor. Still need to decorate the Foyer and do all the other mantles. And the tree. Brought the wrapping paper upstairs. Need to get busy on that front, too.
With Christmas cookie baking on the horizon, I don't see how I will be following any Diet program. And I am actually looking forward to the cookies, so....I guess I will deserve what I get on that scale.

BECKY every time someone says "Oh you burn more calories digesting this food than the calories that are in the food so it's negative calories" I want to roll my eyes at them. SERIOUSLY PEOPLE? And my DD had a friend that SWORE if you ate fresh jalapenos with every meal, they would make you lose weight bc they were HOT so you'd BURN off the calories. UGH.
CONNIE sounds as if you made a decision. You are making cookies. You want cookies. You will eat cookies. And you know that's what normal weight people do too. And they may gain weight. And then they lose it when they're ready. No guilt and no beating themselves up. I think that's a healthy attitude. But whadda I know haha.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SANDY your mother just died after a lengthy illness and you 2 were close. Then you had to plan the services. Then you had to see all those people at the services. NOOOO YOU DO NOT have to get hold of your emotions. You need to "let 'er rip". ANDDDDDDDDDDDDD my friend, you need to accept the love and support of those around you, b/c they WANT to love and support you. It helps you AND it helps them. There are times to be TOUGH and times to be tender and this is a tender time. Not only that SANDY DEAR... I bet that's exactly the advice you'd give to any of us. Tough is one thing. But even tough people aren't made of concrete!! OK there was this one girl I met in band camp....
AM: 3 coffees w/ coconut cream and stevia Meal 1: about 4PM I had 2 pieces of bacon and that's it Meal 2: 3 small corn tortillas w/ grilled skirt steak, sauteed red peppers (can't have green), sauteed leek tops (can't have the GOOD part), and shredded cheese... so my pathetic version of fajitas. No salsa, avocado or sour cream allowed. Not awful. Put enough shredded cheddar on a kitchen sponge and I could probably eat that... if it's a low FODMAP sponge.
Going to get ready for bed. I'm a bit hungry so I might have some scrambled eggs... or not. Night all.

Good morning girls! So glad I don’t have to go out today ....it is 8 degrees....windchill of -4 ⛄️ Brrrr! #iloveretirement
Louise ... congrats to your dd!
Sandy...let those healing tears flow. Enjoy the concert...I love their Christmas music! Safe travels!
Connie...you made some great progress with decorating. I hope to get mine finished today....then I can move on to other things, & there are plenty of them! Cookies...mmm...Rick usually has several kinds done by now, but will do his baking the week between retiring & Christmas (he says).
Celeste...glad you got a ticket to go see the baby & family. Sounds like the discussion with Ryan helped seal the deal. I feel so fortunate that both families are glad to have us whenever we can head their way....and now the kids beg us to stay longer. Last Sunday Connor asked why we had to go home already, and I told him Papa had to work. He didn’t miss a beat...grabbed my hand and said, “but you can stay!” Would have loved to...but I had things to do yet, too.
Steph...feeling any better?
Becky...sounds like you are getting the program changes figured out & working them in gradually.
Suze....you are probably gearing up for all of the end of the semester craziness...? Did you go get your flu shot? That’s a priority!
Ready to get the day started...decorating, wrapping, lots of music or hallmark movies for ambience. But first I think i’ll make a cup of tea...vanilla almond sounds good!

Good Morning…brrr cold north wind today! CONNIE you had a good day! Snagged a hair appointment and a positive doctor’s visit…including having those charges removed. Since it’s cooler, I turned off one of my ceiling fans and my gosh it’s loaded with dust. Yikes! My house obviously needs a good dusting. Soon…. You are approaching the holidays and eating, etc in a healthy way, imo. Roll with it. CELESTE a visit with Roland will be nice. I still have no freakin’ idea what I am going to do. The info from your meeting hit it on the head for me – watch the things I will potentially abuse. A free pass for that stuff would not be a good thing [for me]. All good advice that we should follow anyway… eat slowly (mindful), eat until satisfied, green veggies, limit starches (again, for me). You know I like fruit, but don’t eat a lot of fruit and have cut out my favorite (bananas). And I don’t miss them. The nutritional consultant you found sounds like she is spot on – and I like the fact that she doesn’t sell supplements. SANDY you don’t have to get a hold of your emotions. You have to feel your emotions, have a good cry whenever and wherever it hits you, and get to the other side WHEN it happens. And NO apologizing for having a down moment or day, or emotional reaction. Where Mom is concerned, it took a LONG time for me to get to a place of happiness for her, and contented gratitude; where you feel nothing but love, without the hard sadness. Feel better KM! Have a great time at the concert. Yes, I did get my flu shot yesterday, followed by regular doses of Tylenol. I think that helped (although they did tell me about the latest CDC info on the vaccine – sheesh). Between that and the trip to the dermatologist I was sorta wrung out last night. Oh, and when in my bathroom yesterday morning, I was on my scooter trying to get out in reverse, sneezed, and when my head came down I hit the corner of my eye on the towel rod. OMG talk about hurt. It only made a tiny cut, but today it’s swollen and a little black and blue. ANGIE yep, it’s the quiet before the storm right now, lol! This is the time I get caught up on small things, clear out the files and in-boxes, revise processes, letters, etc. and generally get ready to roll. We have made a huge change in our process for suspension appeals (actually just following our own procedure more closely) which will take a lot of craziness off me when we return from the break. Have a great day today – sounds nice! I need to make a run to Wal-mart to pick up a few things...not just groceries so I can’t place a p/u order- I really need to walk around and look at a couple things. I’ll ask ex if he will take me during lunch or after work. Waving to everyone…make it a good one!

mmmm LOUISE those truffles sound delish and decadent. Alas, avocados are one of the things I currently miss most and though I don't think they're my problem, I'm trying to stick to this.
LOL ANGIE that's so cute about Conner telling you that you can stay. Very sweet, and I can just imagine it. I think as much as anything, Ryan wanted me there so that his DMIL WON'T decide to come up. Ryan is the most "go with the flow" kind of guy. Not a push over, but the kind of guy that sees that MOST things really don't make any difference in the long run. Don't sweat the small stuff is his motto. But a few things he's said about his DMIL I can tell she's on his last nerve. Meridith visited them a couple of weeks ago and she said that both Ryan and Kristin were telling her they loved having me there and that when Sue's there, it can get tense. Ryan never says anything but Kristin has actually had to say "Would it be OK if I HOLD MY OWN BABY???" Me? I'll cook. I'll clean. And I am happy to sit at home w/ them all and play games or watch a movie. I do NOT need to be entertained. They both work hard all week and I think that being a family should come first with the THREE of them.
And though you're cold up there, ANGIE our windchill is in the mid 20's. 2 days ago it was in the 80's. Last night Bob killed 7 skeeters in the guest bathroom (room closest to the front door), and I just killed 2. I guess the warmth made them hatch and the cold is driving them inside. BUT I HATE THEM.
SUZE is it WRONG that I laughed at the image of you and the towel rod? I'm a BAD FRIEND. But I am glad it wasn't anything worse. teeheehee.
SANDY no precipitation here but it is dang cold. I'm glad I got my tushy out last night and finished off my 9.4K steps so if I want, today will either be a day off or a 7.4K day on my Stepbet. Your bacon sounds great. And tell KM I say she sounds like a mouse!!
Well I best get dressed. I'm supposed to take one old lady to see another old lady in the rehab hospital after her knee surgery. Just not in the mood. My gut is a bit worse than it has been since I started this FODMAP. But I guess it's still better than it was a week ago. I expect miracles. As both the doc and the nutrition lady said "This is a bandaid, not a cure." There IS no cure, but this helps handle the inflammatory bowel disease.
