Good morning!
Ruth, as I figured you have everything nice and organized on your computer. With all the work you do, that is the way to keep things straight....and a nice way to do so using a minimum of space. I love also that your inprogress work is there along with “due dates”. Great way to keep all the special days in your family straight. Just checked out online what the thermostitch is- they say its very dense, which is why it would be so good for potholders. The directions looked sort of difficult for me, I usually do not take on very difficult projects.
Last week, when I saw that i had made a mistake on the baby afghan, I went nuts looking for the pattern I used for DGD#1 baby afghan. Oh, I looked online, looked in all my craft books in the house and was unable to find that one crochet book. Lost a few days of crocheting looking for it also. But decided to rework what I had done- I do like the pattern but just hated the thought of ripping out so much work. Oh well. I am slowly trying to catch up and get this baby afghan done. And of course in the interim I have the placemat project- but other than that I have to cut the binding strips at home, the entire project will be completed in the shop. I know, I have little time for this class, but have been waiting for about 2 years for a binding class to be offered at a time that I could attend. Well the time is now.....am looking forward to the class.
Hoping for a quiet day. Hope each of you has a blessed Sunday G

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ginny - I'm glad you found some fabric you like and were able to get some crocheting in on the way to the store. I'm glad you've found a binding class you can go to. I enjoyed the one I took last year and would like to take another one sometime. Ruth - Hope your cake came out well if you made it today. You sound very organized with your projects, I'm sure that helps when you have so many going on at once. Meg and Phyl - Hope you are both enjoying some crafting. Today is Slow Stitch Sunday so I always check out Kathy's blog and click on those blogs that link up to hers. It's so enjoyable seeing what others are working on, there are such a variety of projects. Here's a link to the main blog in case you're interested: kathysquilts.blogspot.ca/It's raining here today, but not cold. Looks like we will get some colder weather this week and some snow/snow showers. I think for the sleep thing I probably already get up at the right time each morning - around 8:00 A.M., so I'll just keep doing that Take care everyone!

Hello Ginny, Cj, Meg and Phyl
CJ I didn't make the cake after all. Instead I made cranberry bread. Last time we were at the store we bought cranberries that they had marked down. We always try to do that each year and have a stash in the freezer. I also made a potato/cabbage casserole with goat milk which dh loves and I made mashed potatoes and biscuits for him to have his food that is kind of like turkey al la king. He puts that over the potatoes or biscuits. I used a new to me biscuit recipe and buttermilk and did they ever come out nice! I also just cooked some cranberries with flavorings to put on my oatmeal each day. Hopefully it doesn't stir up my IC but that's been very calm lately. It's here only just enough to remind me not to go overboard on certain foods.
CJ, I'm glad it's fairly warm where you are. I used to like the spring rains when it was warm back in NY. We dont get much rain here. I'm going to c heck out that blog you posted since I love looking at other people's projects esp quilts. Thanks for sharing. It sounds like a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
Ginny, the thermostitch does, indeed, sound complicated when you read the pattern and directions, but it really isn't. The first two rows are tricky the first couple times you use it but after that it's not difficult at all and it's fun to do and see your potholder or whatever coming out nice and sturdy. I can see using it for baby blankets with a nice soft yarn. It would be warmer than the usual blankets. Then I'll donate those so that people will have nice warm blankets for their babies. It wouldn't be stiff and heavy like the potholders turn out esp if you use a larger hook
CJ, I've been meaning to ask..did you finish the granny square afgan you were making? I haven't heard you mention it so I'm thinking it mustbe like lots of my baby blankets are right now.....a work in progress or a work that's been set aside for a better time.
And speaking of where to put patterns, I forgot to say that I do put some in folders in my email too so that if something happens to my laptop I can use any computer to look up my email and find my favorite patterns there.I need to put more of them there in fact.
So now that my cooking is done and kitchen cleaned and friends spoken to, I'll get to some crocheting...still haven't wrapped the birthday presents but will get to that sometime before we go out this week.

Good evening ! CJ- thanks for sharing the link for the slow stitch Sunday- wow, its amazing what others are doing with fabric!! the fabric for a quilt she had on the home page (all cut out next to her machine) is so pretty....love the blues, soft yellows combination. THanks for giving us the link.
Ruth, well the minute I read that you were doing anything with cranberries I squirmed.....I remember they were a trigger food for your IC. Glad you are only using a small amount. Hey that biscuit recipe sounds good-would you mind sharing it with us? Thermo stitch can go on my long list of stuff to do- but I admit for potholders it sounds really nice and an easy short to make up project.
So far my crafting today was to get all my supplies out for class next Saturday. I am all packed up and ready to go. Figured with a normally hectic week it was best to get all I needed ready now.
Is tomorrow really Monday? Yuck Ginny

I don't know why that happens but my post went poof again
I went to the site too and I agree...that fabric is very beautiful and there were a lot of other beautiful things on there too
Ginny, you are the organized one. Getting ready ahead of time for a meeting, class or even a trip is something I attain to but rarely accomplish. Congratulations of being ready.and yes, if this cranberry stuff even begins to cause problems out it goes. That was just too painful to endure again
As far as potholders go, probably making a long rectangle in a simple stitch, folding it over and sewing the edges to make a potholder would be faster than making this one but this one is fun and since I have lots of time on my hands...well I do it
If you like a light fluffy biscuit with a nice crispy top and botton and is a beautiful color, this recipe is for you. I was shocked at how nice they looked. I've never had biscuits turn out so good before. This recipe doesn't look much different than all other biscuit recipes so I don't know what the difference is.
3 c all purpose flour 2 T sugar... I only used about one 4 tsp baking powder 1 tsp baking soda 1tsp salt 3/4 c chilled butter 1 c buttermilk
Mix all the dries together lightly and cut the butter in with a pastry blender, a knife or even in a food processor or rub it into the flour with your fingers...whatever your favorite methold. Add the buttermilk and mix...not too much...now this amount of buttermilk didn't seem anywhere near enough to enable all the dry ingred to mix in so I added a little at a time until it was almost all mixed. Then they didn't say to do it but when it was almost all mixed I put it on a floured board and kneaded it a couple times so that all mixed in then rolled it our to maybe 1 1/2 inches thick...not really sure as I didn't measure..Cut out. Put on cookie sheet and bake at 350 for about 15 minutes or until they look pretty. I didn't have mine touching each other so that the edges would also get brown but if the size of your baking pan necessitates that they touch that's ok too.they'll just have soft sides
I also didn't feel like getting a whole other stick of butter out so I used one stick which is a half cup and added a couple heaping tablespoons of crisco so between the butter and crisco I probably used only 1 1/4 cup of "fat"
They looked so great that even I had to eat one so I ate it hot out of the oven with real butter and it was fantastic.

Ok Ladies. get your venting ears ready or get ready to skip this post I finally heard from the nurses at our doctor's office and no longer can you get copies of your labs unless you come in and sign a medical records release. So I mentioned to her that I guessed there were no abnormalities or they would have called. Well she said yes then she took a look at them I guess and said, of your thyroid tests are out of whack. I'll have to send this to the doctor...ok fine. So then she mentioned the prescription I needed a refill for ...big run around there too. Long story that I won'at get into but it's still not resolved because it's kind of a mix up with Walmart pharmacy locally vs the Walmart mail order pharmacy. I'm working on crocheting. I finished up one bath pouf this morning and am now going to finish up the project I started a few days ago before I got to more pouf and the other things...these poufs use a lot of yarn! I didn't realize
