Happy Monday fellow Crafters!
Where is January going? The days seem to be flying by. So glad Meg was able to check in last night- indeed its a challenge when a computer hog lives with you or there are computer problems that need repair.
Gotta get myself ready for work. See ya later!

Yes it was great seeing Meg. I'm glad I don't have to share the computer anymore.
Well as I thought the wind is blasting and snow is drifting. It's only 23 degrees too. At this point I don't think we'll be making it to the doctor on Friday unless the neighbor gets bored and decideds to dig us out. I wouldn't ask him but he occaisonally just does it on his own. And I think you asked, Ginny, if the lab results are online yet and no they aren't. Drives me crazy. I know it takes them about an hour to do the tests so they could have them on there immediately but what can you do.
You also asked about dd's foot. With the boot it's improving and the antibiotics worked for the infection so surgery to remove the foreign object is tomorrow. Still seems to me it's a really big deal for just a little pin
I'm glad I have all that food made. Now I don't have to even go upstairs.I'll just stay down here in our "winter quarter" where it's warm and toasty without wasting electricity trying to warm the whole open plan main living area up there
See you all later.

Hi Ginny,& Ruth, cj, & Phyl.
It is cold and wet here today. I don't have to go out until school gets out and that is a fast trip. I have been knitting a lot and I started another b/blanket The first one is almost finished, I might even get it finished today If I would sit down long enough and work on it. I saw a picture of a cowl a few days ago that I would like to try. So I made a copy of the pattern.
Ginny, thanks for getting us started for another week. I will try and post more. I have an appointment to have my eyes checked tomorrow and an visit to see my primary care Dr. on Thursday. I agree with you January is flying by. The older I get the faster the days and years fly by.
Ruth, I think that is a great idea to have your winter living area and not try to heat the whole house. Since you don't have to cook I hope you get a lot of crocheting done. If I lived by myself I think I would just stay in my bedroom and heat it. I think my DGD is planning to move out they have been looking at houses of course I have heard all that before so I will just have to wait and see what happens. Of course we will miss Devin. I hope your neighbor decides to take care of the snow so that you can get out if you need to. I will pray for your DD tomorrow when she has her foot surgery. Take care and stay warm.

Thank you so much Meg. Yes you will miss Devin if they do, indeed, move out. I do remember you saying they talked about that before. If they move will you still have to go pick him up from school and bring him to your home?
I'm sure the cowl you saw is beautiful. Is it knitted or crocheted? Will it be for you? I've been thinking of taking a break and making a couple things for myself.I need to make myself some warm slippers and I want to make that scarf. BUT now I've been looking online for suggestions on things to make for my ddil. I've made quite a few things for her in the past so there's not much new to make.I'll have more time starting in the middle of April because there are no birthdays between then and late August...there are but just not people I make things for.
Ok off to find food and then will work on completing this blanket. Have a great afternoon all

Good evening,
Yes, great to see Meg here! That is a shame that you might be losing DGD and Devin-I am sure that your home will be much quieter if they do move out- which is both good and bad. It would be great if they moved very close by- but that also might mean that you will be asked to transport Devin a lot too. WIth the joy of being a part of his daily life, also comes the burden that you get little time to yourself. Hope your eye appointment goes well and that you can get the new glasses very soon. I too am curious if the cowl will be for you or someone else.
Ruth- nice that you got so much cooking done and can just stay in your winter apartment. I hope that Dd’s foot is healing nicely and that the procedure goes easily and successfully. Simply amazing how something that seemed so minor could become such a problem, but that is how it goes. Regarding the lab results, I have also in the past had trouble with labs not showing up. Once I got a call from the doctor asking me why I had not gone for lab work- when indeed I had gone 3 weeks earlier! It took a lot of hunting but the lab finally found my results. Ah the joys of modern medicine. Anyway, hope your results were within anticipated ranges, no bad surprises.
Yes, that cowl Meg wants to make sounds pretty....
Long day for me working and babysitting. Glad its drawing to a close. G

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ruth - I hope you don't have to go out if the roads are bad and it's cold. Hope the results of your bloodwork will be normal. We have the same problem with the plows pushing the snow up in the driveway. If it's a big snow, it's a miserable job trying to clear the snow at the end by the road. Hope you enjoyed your pizza bread, that sounds good. Ginny - I'm sure you do look forward to the holidays, hopefully it will go quickly until the next one in February. I also hope you get your orders this week. Meg - I'm sure you'll miss your family if they do move out. It's nice to have the quiet and the house to ourselves sometimes, but it's lonely having it that way all the time. I'm glad to hear you've been getting in some crafting. Phyl - Hope you are feeling well and getting some crafting done. I finished the turkey tenderloin today, it was good. I had some broccoli and cauliflower with it and also some turkey gravy. I had a call this morning from one of my credit cards checking on some charges they had seen and declined. Neither one were charges I'd made so I had to cancel that card and they'll send me a new one. That card has a really low credit limit and I like to use it for Internet purchases for just this reason - I figure if someone gets ahold of the number they aren't going to be able to charge much. It's just a hassle though because I had a few magazines on this card as recurring charges. I was able to cancel one, but am waiting to hear back from the other one. I just hate it that we have to live in a society where someone is always trying to take advantage of others Take care everyone!

Good evening!
I have a feeling that when I hit send, I will find that there are lots of posts from today. This web site has a tendency to do that to me.
CJ- so very sorry that your credit card was hacked- Do you have any idea how they were able to get your credit card number? And a darned good thing that the credit card company figured out the charges were bogus. Hats off to them for protecting you. I had a similar experience several years ago, the credit card company called me about some weird charges
Phyl- yay- you are back in your play pen! Hope for your sake that you do not get too much snow. How is your felted Santa coming out?
My charm pack arrived yesterday and my Herrscheners order today. THe Herrscheners order is missing one kit- but I called them and the item is on back order. I should have everything in mid March.
Looks like we will be babysitting almost every day this week. Busy week, indeed. G

I don't know what happened to my last message. I must not have hit the send button.
It was a nice sunny day here with no wind and the snow was melting a little so it looks like we'll be able to make it to the doctor after all. Still no results on patient portal.
Dd had her surgery this morning and all went well.We were a little concerned about the anesthesia but it was ok. Her friend who is like a sister to her took her, waited, and then took her home. My dd's husband is pretty much useless. He definitely doesn't think like the rest of us and for sure marches to "the beat of a dfferent drummer".
Well in my last message I had said I got the edging done and just had to do the weaving in of the ends of which there were a LOT. I counted them and there were almost 150 ends but I got them all done so the blanket is finished. Now to go on to my next projects.I'll finish Valentine day first then work on the March things and maybe get in a couple little things for me in there. I want to make one of those little arm bags to carry my small projects in because of the possibility that I'll be doing a lot of waiting while dh has tests after seeing the doctor.Of course I do have tote bags I could use probably just as well so we'll see how that works out.
I hope you all had a good day and will have a good evening.I'm going to go and find the yarn I need to work on the Valentine day stuff. I forget where I put it.
Ginny, I see you came in while I was typing the first part of this. It does sound like you will be having a busy week with the little ones.
CJ, I'm glad they caught that charge. One time my credit card company notified me of charges put on my card. There were two and each one was only for a little over $5.00..how strange is that?
PHyl, I'm glad you were able to get back in your playpen
Do people still use playpens for babies? They were a lifesaver when my kids and older grands were small.I can't imagine just letting a baby crawl all over the house but that's what most of the young people do these days.Speaking of grands, my ddil sent a couple pics of the baby who is two months old today. If I do say so myself, he is just so cute!
I just realized it's 5:20 and it's still a little bit light outside.
see you all later.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Phyl - Glad you are getting back to some crafting. Hope you didn't get too much snow. Ginny - I'm glad to hear you got your orders, hope you get the back order when it's available. Ruth - I'm glad your DD did alright with the surgery, I hope everything goes well with her recovery. Meg - Hope you are doing well. I received the replacement credit card today via FedEx, so I have to give this company credit for giving good service. Of course now I'm leery about using the card, but I know it shouldn't be a problem. This is the card that I have assigned to a few craft magazines I receive and also to the Missouri Star Quilt Company. I do use this one a lot for purchases on the Internet since it only has a $2000 limit on it and I use it exactly for this reason - if someone hacked the card. All I can guess is that someone got the number from one of the places I've ordered from. Or maybe they hacked the credit card company? I did go in and remove the card number from MSQC and cancelled both of the recurring magazine subscriptions. I've never liked buying things this way with a credit card, I prefer to mail a check for subscriptions. One of the reasons I like to order off of Amazon is that I can buy the Amazon gift cards at the store and load them onto my account and then when I buy something it comes from my gift card balance and I don't have to use a credit card. Take care everyone!

Hello to all. It's a very windy day today. I hope the wind calms down by Friday as I hate to go out in all this wind.
CJ, I'm glad you got your card replaced. Mostly there isn't much of a problem with credit cards online. I'd never use a debit card. Credit cards have protection. You can be made to pay the first $50 when your card is illegally used by someone else but mostly your credit card company doesn't even have you pay even that.
I've been working on my Valentine Day projects last evening and today so should have them done this evening.Bad part is having to sew the hearts onto the little bags. I'm not good at attaching appliques or doing edging or seams.
My ds' oldest daughter emailed me saying she got her learner's permit. My dgc are growing up so fast...too fast.
Speaking of Amazon my dh saw Maxwell house coffee on sale there for a very cheap price. It said you got 12 bags and even mentioned the total ounces which came to 12 bags. Well when it arrived just now there are only two bags in there!! So he's furious. I guess it's true that if something sounds too good to be true it probably is.

Good evening!
Ruth is your doctor appointment for tomorrow? Forgive me for being confused....it stinks that the lab results are still not available. In this day and age, most people like to check out their results. COngrats to your DGD on her learners permit! I bet you can remember very well teaching Ds how to drive. So good to learn that Dd had her procedure and is ok. Anesthesia is, in some cases worse than the procedure itself.
CJ- so glad that your credit card arrived. I agree with you that you should proceed with caution- but now with a new card a good part of your problems should be solved. My vote would be the recurring magazine subscriptions- but who knows how your number was obtained. Good thing it was caught though.
So, today, when I got home from work, a large box was there....addressed to me. It was the entire Herrscheners order- complete with the back order ornament kits. I called them, and they told me to keep the item that arrived yesterday....it would cost too much to restock and reship. I agree.
Long day.....Have a great night

Ginny, good to see you. I'm glad you got your Herrschnerr's order. Most companies, when the sent extra or a wrong item, will just tell you to keep it. As they said it would cost them more to have you return it.
You should see my dd's mouth and throat!! I don't know how they did it but the back of her throat, her tongue and underneath her tongue are al a gigantic bruise looking mess. She also has two cuts in her mouth.
Dh is working on resolving the Amazon problem and I'm afraid I'm going to have to do the same when my order arrives.
Our doctor appointment is on Friday. I haven't checked online today to see if the results are there. I'll have to go do that but I'd bet they aren't.Oh well we'll find out Friday and I'll have them give me a printout.

Good morning!
Oh my Ruth, what happened to Dd? Sounds like the anesthesia went haywire, was all this from incubating her for surgery? (I cannot think of another reason). that is awful, and I hope she is not too uncomfortable from the procedure to remove the needle and the mess they made of her mouth. Hope that the Amazon issue is not too nasty to resolve. I wanted to do something simple the other day (or I thought it was simple!) on amazon- found that it was a simple procedure but next to impossible to get any help from amazon in doing what I wanted to do- and there were no instructions. They are great at selling and shipping items, but it seems like the issues that are not routine are a headache. Hope it all works out. With your background, it should not be an issue to chat with your doctor about the results. Some do not know what to ask for- or what the values might mean. Again, I am a big fan of accessing my bloodwork. Dh is not.
Cold morning here....and we have DGS again.(but we normally do on Thursdays). He is good- pretty easy to take care of. I hope to get him outside for a little bit, even though its cold.

Good morning Ginny and all although it's afternoon there in the east. Meg, Phyl, and I still have an hour, two hours and three hours of morning left.
Yes the bruising and cuts in dd's mouth and throat are due to intubating. As I mentioned I've never seen that happen before but it's always a possibility I guess. she said it hurts quite a lot but she has pain meds for the foot so that, of course, helps with the throat pain too.
Nice and sunny but horribly windy again. Our wonderful mailman drove up to our house two days in a row to deliver parcels in the cold and wind. He's under no obligation to do that and I REALLY appreciate that but I do hate to see him get so cold.
Yes trying to find help on amazon is like trying to find a needle in the real Amazon jungle. Best thing to do is open chat but the people in chat are in other countrys and English is definitely NOT their first language.they usually get the job done but you'd better have a lot of time to spend because it takes awhile.I think that dh finally got the problem resolved that he was taking care of.I usually am the one that takes care of those things. Now to see how my package arrives...if I have the correct number of items which I imagine I won't.
I didn't end up getting all my Valentine Day things done yet but I have time so I'm not going to stress about it. I don't even have the rest of the package ready to mail so I won't be mailing it tomorrow. We'll go out sometime next week and do that and shop. We won't have time tomorrow to shop much if at all.
Ginny, have a good time with the little guy. I do hope you'll have a chance to take him outdoors.
Have a great day everyone
