I'm back with a tidbit about goats.
In my town of Millington, TN we have an International Goat Days Festival every September where everything is goat. For the past two years I have managed the Goat Parade that kicks everything off. It is advertised as the world's shortest parade (about 2/10 mile) and all of the goats are acrylic goats that are on display at many businesses around town. There's a goat herder, a queen, a band made up of the middle and high school, marching groups and antique cars. On the second day I judge the Kids on Parade and present awards. This is where children dress up theirs goats and awards are for best dressed goat, best look alike goat and funniest goat. Since it's children participating, whoever doesn't win any of the main categories gets a ribbon. There are a lot of activities involving goats at this festival but there is also arts & crafts, food, a kids zone, music, BBQ contest and I can't remember what else. Lots of fun!!!

Good morning. Ugh this cold!! We were at my FIL yesterday for a b'day party for him and I left early and went to bed at 7:30. I feel so bad these little babies are here while I am sick.
Cait, that was really a great thing to post. Very interesting and makes total sense to not be tired and overextended when making choices.
Nancy, good for you getting so much in so consistantly.
Velda, good for getting so many steps in and doing the parking away from the door to get more in.
113.8/250 miles as of Jan 28

Good Morning Walkers!
No exercise yesterday, quiet day, sat on the deck in the sun reading in the afternoon. I was in my green zone of pts and JGTB. In my morning 12 step reading yesterday I received a message of reassurance that I can eat appropriately. Here's an excerpt from the reading:
Self trust is the essence of heroism. Ralph Waldo Emerson Complete trust in myself is not always possible, but when it comes, self doubts disappear, furtive struggles and fears are gone. I treat myself with kindness and consideration, and my word to myself is as good as the commitments I make to others.
Somehow that just felt so reassuring.
Today we're planning a walk. It's sunny in the 70s and gorgeous out. -------- JAN PR CHALLENGE: So far this Month out of 28 days: Green zone pts: 14 At least 1 mi per day: 22 JGTB: 24 -------- We didn't have any speakers in this house and were just using TV or iPad for music, so DH bought us a Google Home device. It's a voice activated 360 player & speaker. It sits on the island in the kitchen for now. We enjoyed the free "google play" music yesterday & this am. It also can play radio stations and answer questions. The speaker is way better than just listening to the iPad! Pretty cool!
RUTH - sending good vibes, wishes and prayers for health! The "decision fatigue" is also about reducing the number of decisions we need to make about food. So it reinforces the value of preplanning meals and snacks & having set routines as WW recommends. Fewer decisions to make. OA people also do this. Also it reinforces why we are better off with a shopping list in the grocery store. And why it's not good to snack at night when we are tired and won't make good decisions, we are more vulnerable to impulse when we are at a low ebb, tired, stressed.
VELDA - I remember you telling us about Goat Days way back. Now you're in charge of the parade?! LOL! You are so good at these things. Your job sounds like a good active one. GFY with the bike & walking.
Waving at everyone! Have a great day!

Good afternoon,
Velda your goat days sounds like fun, goats are fun, mine are so gentle, they follow us around like dogs would. GFY on your steps and bike riding. I will try that with my Fitbit when I ride again.
Ruth hope you are feeling better.Hope you felt well enough to enjoy your babies.
Cait GFY staying in your zone. And I know that I don't make good decisions about anything when I am tired. And I eat thinking it will make me feel better and more rested. Which it doesn't. And I have to have a schedule, I get on the TM at seven am, if I don't, I usually don't walk.very interesting article. I walked three miles this am. And rode the bike five miles twenty two minutes.even did the Pilates bench. Nancy
