TOday is here, awaiting us to give it purpose and meaning. What will your day be?
What can you do today to become healthier, lose weight, or maintain your weight loss? How will you accomplish it?
Tracking? If not, then what is your first small, measurable step?

Good morning June and AWF. The first thing I shall do today is hit the RE-START button. Baby steps back to eating on track and moving my butt around. Once I get done online, I shall sit and plan my day. Wishing all a wonderful Monday!

My poor mom slept most of yesterday, but she did sleep well and in her own bed. I imagine that she was utterly exhausted. Dad was a little wound, which is to be expected. Am thinking that going forward, it may be best for me to start a post ER visit by asking him to "tell me all about.... insert some generic phrase." If anyone has been in a similar situation, any tips that you have would be appreciated. These situations happen to both of them, and dad increasingly has less and less patience for obvious reasons.
Today: journal is looking more and more normal-- scribbled enteries under activities-- that add up to a minimum of 10,000 steps tracked on my iPhone & all food choices recorded. Looking so much better. How: sketching out some ideas for activities & healthy food choices for the next two or three days.
Am off to start some "chore" that will start my step count going in the right direction.

Ann--love the focus and determination that comes through in your words. Have no doubt that you will do as you intend. Is it time to dance w/ KC & the band?
Ha ha ha... my playoff snack plan do not come to pass. Didn't make either platter, b/c a homemade brownie- measured, tracked, & paid for w/ WPs-- made me so sleepy. Yeah-- this silly goose ate it first-- warm out of the oven. I know better. Oh well, I apparently needed a refresher course. I didn't make vegetable or fruit plates b/c the sugar/carb rush put me to sleep.
well, mom enjoyed her brownie.

Ann, good for you! May you have a great Monday! Planning works.
June, we forget sometimes the body knows exactly what it needs. Glad she is home and in her own bed. I do think asking your Dad his thoughts on the situation might help him get his thoughts fears and ponderings out in the light. Bet the HOT brownie was good. Since I haven't had one in a while --- I do not want to give too much thought to HOW REALLY GOOD. I am susceptible to suggestions.
How - got me a plan. Going to push the 'ON' switch as soon as I finish writing it. Water, AWARE, water, AWARE ...
Happy Birthday to the late Ed Roberts. If it wasn't for Google celebrating you, I probably never would have heard of you. Congrats on the drive that pushed you to never give up.
Hope AWF have a great day!

Naomi – I mostly use chicken breast for “wings” but sometimes I want the real thing without all calories. Audrey – I have a really good paring knife that is more like a boning knife. It’s tedious but I do a double batch and freeze some for later. How do you like the Instant Pot? My niece gave me one for Christmas but forgot to bring it. We are going up there this weekend and I will bring it back with me. MJ – Sadly you didn’t miss much. The injuries took their toll on the Packers. You could almost see them saying “let’s get this over with”. Atlanta deserved the win. Bee – Wendy’s isn’t the worst for fast food. But more important was you being the ear/shoulder that was needed. Ann – The best thing about WW is you can start over at any point. June – I am sure that fear is a big factor in your dad’s reduced patience. When my mom was diagnosed with cancer, my dad was out of his mind with fear and leaned very heavily on us. She passed 3 weeks after diagnosis and my dad was lost for a while. We had to teach him how to clean, balance a check book, etc. Fortunately he was already a fabulous cook so we didn’t have to worry about that. On the amusing side, he quickly learned how to use less than half the pots and pans he used to since he now had to clean them. I could never make brownies. Once a year or so I will plan for one, go buy one and bring it home to savor. Any in the house are an instant disaster for me. It’s a KOKO. I was very disappointed with both games but we had a good time and stuck to our healthy plan. A little too much sodium but that’s the worst of it. Today will repurpose/reuse leftovers. The wind is downright scary. As we walked, large branches were coming down and one shed was losing its shingles.

I am in the market for a new dishwasher! Ours decided to NOT work this a.m. Twice I 'thought' I was going crazy as the dishes 'looked' dirty!!!!! That's because they WERE dirty. I just finished doing my June Cleaver routine of hand washing and drying all those dishes and silverware. Needless to say I am NOT a 'happy camper'
Okay, vent over! I know in the realm of things it's small potatoes!
LOL June your straight from the oven brownie sounds like heaven. I have no words of wisdom for you and your parent situation. I shall keep them in my prayers and YOU as well. I know it's not easy. Good for you for keeping up on the tracking and moving. I will most definitely be 'jiving' with my ol' pals KC!
Susi I don't have one of those pots, but we do have an electric pressure cooker that we just LOVE. It makes everything in a fraction of the time and you can also use it as a slow cooker. What I love about it is being able to brown your meat in the SAME POT!!!! LOL to your dad using less pots/pans. I think he should come over and teach Carl that trick LOL. It's very windy here as well, and with no sun it just 'feels' colder than what it is.
Bee I'll join you in that ON switch and the AWARE glasses. My Wii wasn't happy with me at ALL!
Time to get a move on here! I'll CBL

Good morning, all!
Wind's building up (up the coast from Susi) but only misting so far.
DayJob's quiet so far.
We'll have dinner here at the MousekeHouse so that we can then put the new storage unit together. I've got three packages of skinless/boneless chicken thighs to work with, plus rice-a-roni and broccoli. And even if the storm gets bad, it's a gas stove.
Must pay some attention to the DayJob. Have a healthy-eating day, all!

Hi all. MJ it's windy here as well. Hope you don't lose power! Pam I like your simple goals for the day.
Happy to report that we found a dishwasher from a little mom pop place and they will take out the old deliver the new and set it up on Friday. Woot! Can't wait to retire my hands!!!!!
Going to shut down now and take a full fledged retirement day! I've earned it!
Have a good day, all!

I posted this on a thread last night.
Hi Everyone
I decided to begin this at night because some mornings I am just too busy. There is heavy rain as I type, which is really relaxing. Monday morning the dog groomer comes to give Lily Belle her beauty treatment. Then at 10 a.m. I am going to order tickets to see Train perform here in Fresno on July 11th. When my first dog Frances passed away, I had a hard time walking in the morning because I was so used to walking a dog. I put Train songs on my iPod and it made me walk quickly and purposefully again. I have never seen them perform live.

I'm not sure if the link will work. I am meeting two girlfriends for lunch at 12:45 and I have a facial at 2 p.m. Winter skin needs pampering. Dinner is slow cooker chicken tikka masala from the Skinnytaste fast and slow cookbook. I have been tracking daily and reducing caffeine was good this weekend. I reduced coffee and diet soda drinking a few years ago. I still have both but occasionally instead of regularly. MJ, I am glad your son seems to be doing ok. No one told us when we had babies that we would always be worrying. I hope we all have a good day.

Thanks for you're input everyone.
Will have to read last nights later posts. Didn't have time this morning.
Bee- I, too, can be very susceptible to suggestions! Is it because we are empathetic? I really hadn't thought about brownies until Tammary mentioned them recently. And then I thought that Inwould have to make a small batch to share & savor the one that I ate. Now I am strongly suggesting that I had enough brownie to last for months. Ha ha ha. Love that you "switched" your Bee "0n" button into effect and slapped on this "aware glasses."
Susi- yes, dad is fiercely protective of mom, plus has some vascular dementia & hearing loss even w/ his cochlear implant. He also latches onto to something, and runs w/ it. So there is a balancing act involved a placating him & keeping things on a helpful, positive projectory.. I try to walk a fine line, because whatever is happening to mom it is happening to both of them. The fewer pots & pans story about your dad is cute. Yes, the Falcons benefitted from the Packers' multiple injuries. Glad you enjoyed your football viewing party despite the game play. Am glad that you are being careful when out & about in those damaging winds!
Ann- there never is a good time for a D/W to go down. Glad that you found a replacement at a local, small business & that it will be taken care of so quickly.

Pam-- good goals any day! Hang in there!
MJ- hope that your DayJob is exceptionally quiet today! Ha ha ha... every time that look at chicken thighs, I think of you! When they are a screaming price, I say to no one in particular, MJ would love this price!" Keeping your DS in my thoughts and prayers.
Audrey- your day sounds full, but pleasant. Nice work getting dinner underway and knowing what SPs you have left for the rest of your day. Hope that you can secure great seats!

Good plan Pam Stay safe MJ. Where is your physical office? You seem to work from several locations. Ann – Yeah!!! I have found that the smaller local appliance places price match the big box stores and often have better quality because they are not made to the lower cheaper standards of the big box stores. Audrey - They do a great show and are really nice IRL. They performed here a couple of years ago.

Good Afternoon yo all, I'm late to the party and can't stay long... Just wanted to tell you I took my oldest sister's Betty , I call her Sissy B. and Minnie to lunch and to go running around it was a hoot. We stoped at Walmart and they have to be in electric wheel chairs. Oh my word Sissy B ran into this stand that had bananas. She just whipped it around and didn't even see it. I swear oh shit it's going to fall . I laughed all day . My family is really Close and I do No wrong and trust me I'm the ornery one. No doubt..
Any how I needed today. Like I said all I did was laugh. Specially when I'm with Minnie cause she is one that starts to laugh and everyone around her bust a gut...
I had baked chicken, baked potatoe with salsa salad. And a sugar free chocolate chip cookie and ice cream .....
Not to bad.
How : be extra careful the rest of the day...... veggies fruit water water and more water..............My day today. PRICELESS.
