zazzles Thank you for sharing your data. Fascinating to see how exercise can bring a lot of benefits. Did you say how much exercise it took to get these benefits? Sure must be motivating to see these graphs and to know that every little bit helps. 7 years ago, DH was told by his doctor that his A1C number was rising and he was in danger of having diabetes. He didn't want to take meds so the doctor said exercise might help. We started walking at our local mall every morning. We worked up to 2 miles every morning and while we aren't running, we do walk faster than strolling. 6 months later, when his blood was rechecked, his numbers had dropped. Over the years they have continued to stay in a normal range. It definitely motivates us to continue this when the doctor says all the blood work looks great and to continue doing what we're doing. Good luck to you! Linda, it didn’t take much to produce those results. At the gym both days I spent 15 minutes on a stationary bicycle, day 1 was recumbent and day 2 was the tall one, and both days I did some resistance training…two different arm resistance machines for a couple of sets of about 20 reps and a leg press machine with about 25 reps. That’s it. The whole process couldn’t have been more than half an hour if that.
And as I pointed out, today’s walk was 25 minutes, and not even at a faster clip because I am at risk of falling and have to watch every time I plant my feet to avoid losing my balance.
It’s encouraging to me to see that light activity truly does have an impact as opposed to the ideas the trainer I had at the gym initially thought.

pbnj Your review of "LaLa Land" was exactly how I felt. It was enjoyable but I was surprised it won so many Golden Globes and all of the Oscar nominations. I think it's a safe movie to pick is why it's gotten all of the nominations/awards. (just my opinion!)

Wow zazzles , thank you for such an in-depth analysis, that was fascinating to see the graph and have you compare it to what you ate/what activity you were doing at the time. You are right, the correlation to exercise is blatantly obvious. Thanks again for sharing your experience! I especially noticed the difference on Friday and Saturday and then when you added in the gym on Sunday, that is really amazing. Thanks for mentioning that you did the recumbent bike, since that is basically the only thing I can do without "exhausting" the muscles and being useless for days. I really wasn't sure that my measly 35 daily minutes was doing anything.

zazzles...thanks so much! I'm not going to the gym at the moment, but when I was, I think I rarely hit 40 minutes. I'm going to stick with my consistent steady exercise. linda72 and thanks for the movie review; we don't go to the movies much, but would have probably gone to this one with the nominations. Doesn't sound like either of us would enjoy it!

zazzles lol it is only 35 because that gives me an extra FP compared to 30, and it is at just the "low" and I do mean l-o-w. No hotdogging for me, just trying to keep the joints lubricated!

ksbruns About the movie, it is a sweet romantic movie and the actors are all top-notch. I've read that the "making" of the movie is what is outstanding. But, I'm an average movie goer so I don't know about those things. I like to be entertained so, from that stand point, it was entertaining. But, I also think it's a little over hyped but it's a safe choice this year. Some of the other movies are rather heavy in content and I think people are looking for something lighter this year. Just my opinion though, so check it out. My DH would be bored to death but yours is more into music and would enjoy that part of it.

Glad I left him home!. It's not like a Broadway musical where there is no dialogue except singing. Some of the songs are quite catchy although neither Emma Stone or Ryan Gosling are great vocalists. The piano playing is fun to listen to (for us non-pros anyway! ksbruns ) Ryan Gosling learned to play specifically for this film. It has an "old feel" to it due to the song/dance numbers and maybe this nostalgia has helped with the hype. I think if I saw it again I would just enjoy the music and beauty of it (Ryan Gosling is easy on the eyes and Emma Stone is stunning !) As a movie I enjoyed "Hidden Figures" much more.

pbnj I also enjoyed Hidden Figures more. I wonder how much creative license was used in this film. I know these ladies had a big impact on the space program and I'm glad the word is out about them. I loved seeing the pictures of them at the end of the movie.

pbnj and linda72, how did La La Land get so many awards, have they never seen a good musical? My zumba class has more difficult choreography and the vocals were average. Did you come out singing any of the songs? I did hear that Gosling did his own piano workand that was impressive. I went with DD and 2 girlfriends and none of us were impressed. And DH did welll, he had a sinus rhythm but he did this before and weren't back into A-fib...went to a late lunch and then to Rogue One, much more entertaining La la land! Wine afterwards

Finally home. The doc removed the staples today, the spasms are very infrequent and dh is making progress with rehab. Fingers crossed he'll be home soon. Thanks for your continued prayers and positive vibes.
