OK pretty sure I've got the weekend start up day correct this time.... Anyone is welcome to join the SMART weight loss goals. Specific Measurable Actionable Realistic Time limited You can pick as many or as few goals as you like. They can be daily, weekly or monthly. It's up to each individual. Keep us posted on how you're doing w/ the goals and how/if it's showing up on the scale! AND if you aren't into goals... now or ever... no big deal. Friendship, accountability and support... they don't HAVE to have goals. Lastly if you have goals that aren't related to weight loss, that works too. Like "making me time"

Dark, rainy and dreary here…. Would be a lovely day to be home doing a little housework with ample breaks for a movie or three I slept well last night and feel like I’m finally getting some energy back after that little trip. I’m sorta glad that the drive to OK is next weekend. Thanks CELESTE. I’ll wait for a sunny day to wash/dry. Look at you on those steps…you go! So I am finding that I’m becoming hungry for a meal – at meal time. Interesting how that works. Of course, you don’t eat as much so that plays into being hungry for the next meal like normal people. And for some reason doing NoS really makes me realize how much of this overeating thing is in my head. JT dang, what’s up with all that heat up there? SANDY I love that you so enjoy a cold beer. I live vicariously through you on that one! So the property that is being sold was your grandparent’s home? And I’m glad to hear that Dale has been feeling good this week. CONNIE great going on those steps! And very cool on the chicken. I think I’m going to start bringing a PB&J for lunches…so easy and I love them. Waving to everyone today… STEPH how is your week going? Last day of spring classes here, finals & graduation next week, then I’ll be crazy busy when grades roll. I’m already getting emails from students asking “what’s going to happen if…..” gotta love it. Enjoy the day.

SERIOUSLY JT, I guess I don't know that much about CT's climate but I didn't think you EVER got hotter than we are in TX. Colder? yes. More humid? maybe. Right now we're at 66 and drizzly. SANDY congrats and yes don't look back. That land brought you happiness in the past and it served its purpose for your family. Now it's time for it to bring happiness to someone else. Truly at the end of the day it's your family and health that's important. Everything else is gravy, As our lives change I find that some things that did bring MUCH happiness became more of a burden; and you're right... the memories are ALWAYS there. (I'm thinking of my life w/ my greyhounds and esp w/ Petey... great memories. Many smiles. But at this stage of my life not something I want to get involved with). I'm very happy for you all. Are you all going to take some of the money and do something VERY SPECIAL for you and Dale or your entire family?? Make more memories? Glad DALE is doing better but boy oh boy I hope he doesn't over-do. Like anyone could stop him LOL CONNIE you lucked out on the chicken! MMMMM PB and chicken!! Maybe not. SUZE I find that putting 5-6 hours between meals... I'm SOOOOOOOO hungry at meal time; but hunger truly IS the best sauce! And you know? I've survived. I'm still alive even w/ the hunger. I realize how much overeating has just become HABIT for me. And lack of self control. A little hunger was winding up being a LOT of calories. I'm trying to establish a habit that YES I will be hungry between meals and that's how my life USED TO BE. I don't have to be on a continuous DRIP FEED OF SNACKS to sustain my life. (imagining myself walking around w/ an IV filled w/ cheese and bacon and pasta). I still think I'm overeating at dinner, esp, but NOT working on that yet. One step at a time. I'm trying to set myself up for a WIN on this NO S. My plate isn't exactly bestial but it's pretty dang FULL. But something on No S. It's not as much of a "no brainer" as one might think. I read SANDY's PBJ and thought " OMG that sounds so good. I'll have a PBJ for bkfst!" But my jelly has ADDED SUGAR!! My JIFF PB has SUGAR as the 2nd ingredient! That kind of RUINS the "NO S" of "no added sugar". whaaaaa I need to buy "peanut only PB" and sugar free jelly now. ACK. (I only like Jiff w/ the sugar dang it... that all natural all nut stuff is TOO NATURAL for me). Then I thought "well SANDY had beer with her dinner, and I can't have beer can I? ". OH YES WE CAN! LOL So there are little tweaks to work on. Those little light bulb things like OH GOSH that's not a 1 plate meal if I have a big bowl of soup first! Or that bread better fit on my plate. These are things I think will become a habit eventually. haha yesterday we had bread w/ our Italian Pot roast so I put the meal in like a pasta bowl (it's VERY liquidy for a pot roast) and plopped the bread on top. 1 plate meal!! Ok it was fudging but it was 1 plate!! I need to work on my ATTITUDE. OH and people you will NOT BE-LIEVE what happened to me yesterday. I mean seriously I'm going to have a HEART ATTACK! I got a letter from.... drum roll.... SOCIAL SECURITY. I was afraid to open it. But it said they were "reimbursing me for my Part D IRMAA" penalty of $74 for the month b/c they took it out of my SS check already AND debited my checking account. OK but they're so STUPID. They specifically said: Part D IRMAA of $74. They reimbursed me $503! That's the IRMAA penalty amount for my regular A/B social security. So I SHOULD be getting BOTH IRMAAs . But they specifically said $74/part D. NO WHERE did it say I would be reimbursed for my regular IRMAA penalty. NO WAY I'm calling them for $74. Not worth my grief. But can't they get ANYTHING right? And this is from the MAIN SS. Not my idiot child at the local office. OMG they are completely incompetent.

Sandy It is hard to let go of places you grew up in or nearby. It is good it sold so fast so you don't have to pay taxes.I'm glad Dale is having some good days.
Celeste You and Suze are doing great on the NoS diet. The no added sugar isn't something I could or want to do.I do use Smuckers sf raspberry preserves though & I like it on toast.I know no one diet is for everyone and I'm proud of both of you for giving up no added sugar.I may not track points the rest of my life either.I get enough points right now to make me feel healthy and yet not obsessing over how many I need to get or am I eating enough.I am trying to change up some of my foods but that will have to be one food at a time. How long did you cook your Italian Pot Roast in the crock pot and did it come out where you could slice it or does it pull apart like pork?
I decided to do the Y diet.I'm only eating on days ending with a Y. Okay seriously I'm just playing it by ear for right now or I should say by mouth.I drink plenty of water between meals to keep from getting too hungry and to keep things moving and I find I've been having less snacks after dinner.I guess b/c they are more filling than the snacks I was eating.
Just as we got home from Elgin it decided to pour.Scooter has been a very good dog so she can stay in while it's raining. It doesn't sound like it's raining right now.I have done my time on the recumbent bike now I just need to get in my 250 steps/hr the rest of the day.
Your SS office must be full of idiots Celeste.Kenneth would call I'm sure but I wouldn't go thru the hassle.

GMTA CELESTE I thought the same thing …oh yeah, I love that jelly – added sugar! I think having that bulb go off in your head about how you used to eat as it compares to NoS can be a great reference for you. I completely agree on the tweaking. I think it takes a couple weeks for that to kick in. Doesn’t he write about added sugar versus sugar in foods? I can do SF jelly, but my PB is PB. Not going to sub on that.
I had ¼ of a cookie at lunch today and ditched the rest. Something wouldn’t let me eat it 1) It’s not an S day 2) It was just a cookie, not cheesecake or something really good 3) I’m the only one who would know but apparently, I count these days! And the reality is my brain gets that I am not depriving myself, just delaying when I can have a sweet. The delay makes me think about whether I really want it – will it satisfy or am I just eating it to eat it?
Ahhh a government agency at its best.
SANDY this trip was the first I could go by the property where our family home was and feel ok. The memories are what count, and being with family – wherever that may be.
LOL BECKY on the Y diet.

BECKY GOOD question on the pot roast and cutting it and the answer is "BOTH"!! At first I tried to cut it and it was turning into "pulled pot roast" so I had to get a better knife and use a light hand and then I got slices. It said to cook it on low for 12 hours. SO YEAH I'm getting up at 6:AM to cook... NOT IN THIS LIFETIME!! I started it at like 11 and did 4 hrs on high and 3 on low. The veggies were one just right. Firm but NOT HARD (I don't like al dente veggies unless they're raw). ROFLMAO @ THE Y DIET!! I could get behind that one!! Do you have a WEBSITE!!!?? hahah But thx for the reminder. i'm not drinking nearly enough. I went to WM today to pick up some stuff for Bob and it was really MUGGY in there and I started to feel crappy and realized other than my AM coffee I had forgotten to drink anything. i almost grabbed a water and guzzled and then paid for it but instead I got home and guzzled. I feel better now. SUZE I think he said basically YOU KNOW what food have added sugar, b/c it TASTES sweet. Well Jiff TASTES SWEET at least to me, which is why it's so much better than the "all peanut" PB. Jelly is pure sugar (fructose too so natural and added). A serving (and I eat at least 1.5 at a time) has 2 grams of added sugar and it's even on the nutritional label as "ADDED SUGAR 2 grams". I figure if it says ADDED SUGAR right on the label, well that's probably a red flag. I think those added sugars are too easy to add up. Ya have Jiff here, jelly there, catsup (4 grams added sugar for ONE STINKING TBS serving) there. I need to draw the line somewhere; but I'm only checking labels (kind of based on my interpretation of his advice) if something TASTES sweet to me. For instance I think some tomato paste and plain tom. sauce has added sugar but it doesn't taste sweet. Also this diet is SO lenient so I'm really trying NOT TO CHEAT. B/c once you start cheat it's a slippery slope AND it's no longer NO S! And there is ALWAYS the weekend. THAT's what I hold out for and it will be interesting to see how I do w/ my 1st full NO S weekend. Of course like ANY diet when I start I'm RABID about following it. Sustaining it is the hard part and hopefully this one will be easier to sustain. If I don't lose... the heck w/ it b/c I think I'm re-establishing healthier habits. It's stopped raining so I guess I'll have no reasonable excuse not to walk this evening dammit. I'd have walked around WM more (I got 2K steps there) but I forgot and only had on flip flops. Comfy but not for long long distance.

Suze You did well with the cookie.I read somewhere maybe the Beck Diet Solution where if you want something sweet eat 2 bites. After that it may not be as good as you think it was or it wasn't what you really wanted.
Celeste If I had a website I might be rich and wouldn't have to be on any kind of diet.Getting dehydrated can make you feel like crap.Ever since I ate that fatty BBQ on Wednesday after the injections my tummy has been acting strange.I think I'm hungry but I feel like I should wait to eat so I drink water. If I drink it too fast I get too full so I have had to sip it today so I haven't quite had my 80 oz yet and I usually get that much in by dinner.Maybe too b/c it's been cooler today.
The no added sugar is what would keep me from doing that way of eating.I know I'm not going to read every label to see if there is added sugar in something.I know my protein bars have added sugar but they don't taste too sweet to me where some kind of cookie or cake will taste too sweet for me.The FDA was supposed to start adding sugar added to all food products starting this year and now they have delayed it for 18 months.I have seen some food products with that in the NI but they aren't forced to do it yet.I also don't plan enough food to just have 3 meals/day.I have cut my snacks down quite a bit at night b/c I realize I'm not really hungry.I just want to eat.Once my brain realizes that I'm not eating anything.

ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww ticks. If I ever had one on my y'all would hear me screaming. Even JT in CT. BECKY he doesn't say to check every label. Far from it. He says you will KNOW if something has added sugar mostly by the taste. If it TASTES SWEET it probably has sugar and THEN you need to skip it or at least THEN check. Like don't check a can of limas, or a can of tomato sauce, or a slice of bread. But if you eat RAISIN BREAD? You KNOW it's sweet. BAKED BEANS? It's obviously got added sweeteners. Even w/ my poor sense of taste I can tell that catsup and Jiff and jelly are full of SOME kind of sweetener. Corn syrup, sugar, molasses, whatever you want to call it. It's some kind of sugar added. He also said something about if you have a cup of coffee and need a spoon of sugar in it, you have to live with this. Be careful But fruity yogurt? NOPE it's obviously got added sugars. And he's VERY much against any kind of protein bars or meal replacements bars or shakes. VERY against it, he explains his reasoning, and I agree w/ his reasoning but then again I don't eat them anyway. At the end of the day we all have to do what works for us and you've lost a PERSON by doing WW so if bars and shakes are part of that I see no reason why on EARTH you would ever think of doing anything else. Trust me, if I could lose weight by hopping up and down on my left foot and singing Beastie Boy songs, I'd be hopping and singing nonstop. I was going to do my roots in the morning but they were so awfully HORRIBLE I'm doing them now so will wind up going to bed w/ wet hair. So when I wake up in the morning I'll look like Buckwheat and Alfalfa's love child. 7500 steps: CHECK even w/ the cruddy weather. But it did get nice this evening. NO sugar:check No snacks: **SIGH** check No seconds: CHECK. My hamburger and fries was WAY too little tonight; as soon as I saw it, I knew I'd be hungry long about now. I was surprised and then I asked "where are your peanuts?" Bob reminded me that we were not in Five Guys. OOOOOPS!! But I remember. Starvation is fatal but hunger isn't! Meal 3 will be a ham and cheese sandwich, a halo and a salad. Right after I get out of the shower and shampooing the dye out of my hair. Good night all. My agenda for tomorrow is staggeringly exciting. I'm taking my slipcovers off my easy chairs and washing them and replacing them w/ some others I had made. Then tomorrow is Cinco de Mayo. OH and today I put a jar of Duke's mayonnaise in the sink and called to Bob "Come here quickly please. you've got to see this" and he looked at the sink and looked at me like WTH? I told him it was sinko de mayo. GOSH I CRACK ME UP. Night all.

Just over 14000 steps yesterday. Yay me!
Work went ok last night. Stayed fairly busy till 3 am and then it just stopped. I took some hand sewing and fiddled with it once the work was caught up. Am hoping for a repeat tonight.
Our structural engineer friend is supposed to meet DH at the rental and check those crack monitors again. Cross your fingers for a good report. Will have one more month before the final inspection. Sure hope we don't have any issues.
Its going to be rainy and cooler the next couple of days. I'm looking forward to the rains washing the pollen out of the air. And it will be good for my flowers. I already have Johnson's Blue geraniums flowering and my peonies will likely bloom by next weekend. Our Azaleas are in full bloom, too. I have a bunch of day lillies that have grown large mounds of leaves, but probably won't bloom for another month. All in all, the yard is looking nice.

SANDY have a good day. I've seen some cool decorative backdrops, wall hangings, tables, etc made from old doors.
lol on cinco de mayo CELESTE! I'm still giggling.
Becky you have been SO successful on WW! If it ain't broke...
CONNIE crossing my fingers on the crack inspection. Your yard sound beautiful and in full bloom. Love azeleas...so much color!
Slept late and took Lu for a walk. Pillows are washed and i need to clean house. Whether I decide to do it is another thing, lol. Some errands to run but nothing major on my [one] plate hehe.

DAMN COMPUTER... starting my post all over. The computer window just closed. CONNIE good luck on your foundation inspection. And wow I haven't had a 14K step day all year. Seriously. Even when I'm consistently making over 10K, 14K is a red letter day for me. I'm bummed I forgot to order some of those blue geraniums. SANDY cool on the doors. Old country doors are quite the decorating items. And how true on narrower people back i the day. SUZE, HEY... what about me. Cross your fingers on my crack inspection and I'm not talking foundation. I hope today Bob will help me do the slip covers on the easy chairs. From what I've heard and red, putting them on slightly damp makes them more forgiving but they're still REALLY difficult. I did my roots last night and my hair was wet at 1AM when I decided to try to sleep so I woke up and Einstein comes to mind. Meal 1 is going to be avocado toast w/ eggs. sliced tomatoes and a halo on the side. I need to find BIGGER PLATES hahaha (trust me mine are WAY big enough for normal human beings)

Celeste even though the Quest protein bars have a little sugar plus one of them "ols" you and I are not supposed to be eating I do enjoy them and they don't taste too sweet to me.Last night I did have a light 100 calorie muscle milk(which is a misnomer b/c there is no dairy in it)it bothered me for some reason.I didn't put another one in the fridge b/c I wasn't sure I wanted to keep drinking them.I looked at them in HEB and it shows no sugar and no sweetener of any kind so go figure.I don't use them as meal replacements but they are just right for me for a snack. Not together but at different times during the day plus I don't have them every day but I do have a protein bar every night b/c it has a lot of fiber.I get enough protein but I need the extra fiber. One day I may give them up but since I enjoy them I figure as long as I don't eat them as a meal replacement I'm good to go.Are you sure starvation is fatal but hunger is not? LOL. I told Kenneth about sinko de mayo.He laughed as hard as I did.
Connie Good job on the 14,000 steps.
Sandy Good luck to Mark on school board election.Have fun decorating the door.
Suze Sometimes I feel like WW is broken but I'm sure it's me and not them.
Celeste Bigger plates would be good.I wonder why the plan just says you can eat anything you want on 1 plate instead of just 1 meal without getting seconds.
I found out this afternoon my knees aren't quite up to a good walk yet.I had done 20 min on the recumbent bike this morning. We went to HEB and I got in steps there while shopping but I decided I wanted to try a walk on our road.I must be out of shape for walking already b/c I only walked 20 min.My knees don't hurt walking on the road or inside the house but they hurt on our property. There are plenty of chug holes or holes made my the tractor or the truck but I didn't think it would make that big of a difference. My thighs were also sore since I did the bike with some resistance this morning for the first time since the injections.Kenneth suggested driving the car to the gate and just walk on the road and I may do that in the morning if I walk before going to church.I hope eventually they won't hurt like that on our property though.
It's a beautiful day just now getting up to 80.Monday they are predicting 91.I'm not ready for that yet.

Evening (late afternoon),
There are times I really don't think I'm going to get caught up around here. Read a few post, but haven't gone back the past couple weeks.
Becky, next time y'all come to RR, don't get the moist meat at Rudy's. It has too much fat in it and that's why you're not use to it. If you're going to do the beef, get the lean. My favorite is the turkey. It has a pepper skin, but it is really good. Rudy's is our favorite BBQ place.
Today was supposed to be a stay at home day. One of my students left her meds in my drawer and we both forgot. I locked my desk b/c I thought someone I don't like or trust was going to use my room after I left yesterday. So, I had to go to the school around 11:30. The dad met me on time & then Autumn & I had lunch & got our nails done. Today is DH's 50th b-day. He wants a down home southern meal, so I'm making rice meatballs, baked beans & cream corn w/ Hawaiian rolls. Autumn made strawberry cupcakes w/ white fluffy frosting (from a can).
Well, the divorce with my brother is going to get ugly. My SIL has been very depressed for years, ever since she had the miscarriage. What I did not know was she tried to kill herself several times over the past few years and she's an alcoholic, abused her depression meds & addicted to technology. It makes me very sad for both of them.
Oh, I just remembered I put towels in the wash. Need to go switch them over. Y'all have a great evening. I'll try to get back later.
