SANDY, I was thinking about you when I saw the weather. Not just that it's hot but that you guys are in a severe drought now. Wind and dry brush ... not a good combo! I only took half a Unisom last night w/ some melatonin. But this time I listened to my body. As soon as I felt sleepy, I put the book down and tried to go to sleep. Which 15 min later I did. And the pellets have kicked in b/c normally 1 hour after I fall asleep, I wake up and go potty. This time I slept for 4 1/2 hours before I woke up to pee, and then didn't get out of bed until I got up for the AM. It's WEIRD how much better my bladder capacity is when my pellets are in charge!! This afternoon I go to VOMFASS which is a new local store that makes things in CASKS! Infused oils and vinegars an also small batch whiskeys. A bunch of gals from Frisco Lakes are going so we'll have drinks and appetizers made from their products. LUCKILY this is an S day so i don't have to be careful. But I am driving down there so I can't get tipsy!! I may go to Trader Joe's. I need Blue Cheese DRESSING (in case SUZE drops by b/c we all know how she LOVES her Blue Cheese!!! She puts it on her limas and eggs)

Well, the Yardsale is done for another year. I'm happy to report sales of just over $300, DH sold about $200 and his sister sold $500. Her sister in law was here and sold $100. So $1100 at just one house. It would be mind boggling to know what the whole neighborhood made. Best part is getting rid of junk. All of which we would have just donated otherwise.
I sold 2 beaten up leather chairs that were in my living room. Have been wanting swivel rockers. May put my profits towards that.

Celeste doing No S would never be simple for me.My meals are earlier than yours and I'm usually hungry sometime between dinner & bedtime.I noticed I don't eat as many snacks as I used to but I also feel I don't eat enough at some meals not to have a snack or two.Enjoy the party b/c I know you are so upset you can't go with Bob to the engagement party.
Angie I hope you have fun with the grands. It will be a nice way to spend Mother's Day too.I didn't watch Blue Bloods until this morning and I said it was about time they let something good happen to Jamie.I have been adding a boiled egg along with my grilled chicken in my lunch salads. It seems so much more filling.I rarely have to snack between lunch & dinner when I do that.
Sandy sorry about the grass fire near you. It's so dry & windy there will be more & more of those grass fires.
We know a couple that goes to our church whose DD is JP of Williamson Co.Her house burned down yesterday.I think she lived between Taylor & Hutto and living in the country it took longer for volunteer fire departments to respond. She is very thankful nobody in her family was inside and nobody was hurt.
Celeste They keep saying on the Austin weather that after all that rain we got last week it really helped the drought.Sure Austin got more rain but we got 1.25 inches. While we are thankful for every drop it wasn't enough to lessen any drought situations. It's supposed to rain Mon and Tues but it doesn't look like enough is predicted to wet a dog let alone do any good.Melatonin never did anything for me. Unisom doesn't help much either. If my knee is hurting more I will take an Advil PM and that usually does it unless Scooter wakes me up at 3:30.I'm glad your pellets kicked in.
We went to Taylor today and ate lunch at the buffet.I figured it would be too busy everywhere tomorrow to eat out for lunch whether we go to church or not.

Hi all. Connie, you did well at your sale. It would be interesting to see how everyone did. Spend your earnings on something you really want. Enjoy!
Celeste, is it normal to see big swarms of bees in the spring? I would have been afraid of them getting in my car or a/c unit too. Do you gave any idea what kind of bees they were?
Sandy, hope the brush fires stay far from you. Fires can be so unpredictable.
Suze and Angie, safe travels.
In case I don't get back, Happy Mother's Day ladies! Enjoy your day.

Good going CONNIE on the garage sale. And that chore is BEHIND YOU!! hahahaha BECKY Yeah I'm heartbroken that I couldn't make that engagement party. Funny but this thing was over quicker than anticipated and I COULD have made it home in time to go to the party w Bob. So instead I hung out w/ 2 friends until I knew that he'd be gone by the time I got home. MY BAD. And I agree about Melatonin. Usually it comes in 1mg to 3 mg tabs and if you're really lucky you can find 5 or 6 mg. I found 12 MG TABLETS!!!! That combined w/ the unisom helps me somewhat. Hopefully I can eliminate the Unisom completely. Good call on eating out today b/c I agree. Everything is a madhouse tomorrow. From bkfst thru dinner. JT I've never ever seen bees swarm like this. It made me wonder 1) where were they from, 2) where were they going and 3) what kind. THey were honey type bees but they were so eratic I wondered if they were the Africanized type. THey seriously reminded me of being inside a twister of bees. You have a happy Mother's day too. Any plans? I don't have any except my g/f may come over and I'll figure out what we're doing. I may make chicken thighs and salad. The Vom Fass (From the Barrel/Cask in german I guess), was interesting. I bought some very unusual liqueurs. The rose liqueur, the elderflower and the apple pie ones were especially DE-LISH. I also got some very interesting flavored balsamic vinegars as well as some infused oils. I got some of them to give as gifts. Left overs for dinner. Yesterdays left over chile relleno, and some pita chips and tzaziki and hummus from a greek place. So I guess I ate GREXICAN!!

Connie Congrats on your yard sale.
Celeste Was this the good son or bad son's engagement party? From what you have said about Bob's family it was probably better you didn't go.I don't think I have ever found Melatonin in any higher dose than 2 or 3 mg.

CELESTE- I saw a movie once about killer bees. I was traumatized. Around here almost all of the honey bees died out due to a parasite. But I have actually seen some this year so perhaps they are recovering.
We are going to see mom tomorrow. She saw a sports doctor in Morgantown yesterday who agreed with her orthopedist that surgery is not an option for her knee. They expect that PT will help a lot, but won't fix the issue completely. She may need a knee brace forever. I find that hard to believe. They said knee replacement surgery isn't an option due to her age. She's 75. I mean, they make it sound like she's 100!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's. Don't want to fight the crowds at a restaurants plus major construction and shut downs on the interstates here. We will grill steaks and corn on the cob tomorrow. Went to our usual Saturday night Mass tonight. Some traffic delays. Made stuffed peppers for dinner. Sitting on back porch. Ate dinner and now listening to our Baseball team game who are playing out of town. Had long telephone conversation with good friend from Colorado Springs. Hadn't talked to her in a long time. A lot to catch up on. Hope everyone having a good weekend. See ortho on Monday Will let you know what happens next.

hahaha BECKY you have a good memory. This is the bad son's party. This guy will never have a pot to piss in b/c he spends so much money playing poker, smoking weed and drinking. LUCKY for him his fiance is a single mother (w/ a REALLLLLLLLY WEIRD KID) who has her own little house (a gift from her father). I want to pull her aside and say 1 word. PRE-NUP!!! I found the 12 mg at Pipingrock.com which is an online discount vitamin and supplement company. I've used them for other things and have been pleased on pricing and rapid delivery. CONNIE I"ve seen TV reports about how bees are dying out and how it would affect our crops. These were acting so weird how they were flying about helter skelter w/in the swarm. And WOW. My g/f had a double knee replacement (both at the SAME TIME) when she was 75 (maybe 76). I mean knee replacements are rarely done on YOUNG people. I'm not saying she would benefit from one but that sounds weird to me. I mean she's only 9 years older than I am. Maybe I better get all my joints replaced NOW while I'm still "young enough." SANDY HOW CUTE!! You look like you're wearing a Catholic School uniform. I wore navy jumpers w/ the school monogram, and a white blouse.OH AND SADDLE SHOES TOO!!! TERRY I'm w/ you. Wild horses couldn't get me to go out to dinner or brunch tomorrow. Maybe WHATABURGER!! Glad you get to see the doc on Monday. I hope you're not in too much discomfort. Good thing today is an "S" day b/c I've been grazing all day. I DID get in over 8K steps and I didn't "need to" since this is day 6 in a row and I challenged myself to 5 days/week. I'm off to get ready for bed. Tomorrow my g/f is coming over. We talked about trying to find someplace that didn't have a wait on off hours. But I think I'm going to cook chicken thighs and make a big salad and a whole wheat baguette. Bob will be at his mother's house. I know every year he says to me "this may be her last Mother's Day/Christmas/Thanksgiving/etc on earth." And every year i say "YEAH RIGHT!!!! She'll outlive ME b/c she's so dang stubborn." Well this is the 1st year I didn't disagree. 83 years, most of which had too many drugs, too much alcohol and too little taking care of herself eventually HAS to take a toll. I'm not sure how she's survived this long. So much for all of us trying to live healthier lives!! LOL Good night and Happy Mother's day to all mothers, to all women who have mothers, and to all women who've ever had special kids in their lives... their own or someone else's.

Happy Mother's Day to all of you lovely ladies!
We will head to mom's a bit later this morning. Plan to stop on the way for steaks to grill. Will likely pick up some potato salad from the deli and some corn on the cob. DH said he wants to get my mom a card because he doesn't have a mom any more, but she is the closest he has and she is good to him. I thought that was really sweet.
We are sitting on the front front porch right now enjoying the weather. It is rare that I can do so without being eaten alive by mosquitoes, so I want to enjoy it while I can. Currently 68 degrees at 8:30am. Will climb to 89 this afternoon. Was 89 yesterday during the Yardsale, but our porch was shaded and there was a breeze, so it felt good up here. DH's sister was set up in the yard under our big maple, so she had shade as well. Worked out nicely.
Today is my grandson's 10th birthday. Time flies! All he wanted was a party with his friends at his other grandma's swimming pool. We got videos of them splashing and playing. Glad he had fun.
I actually slept all night. Got up once to pee, but straight back to sleep. Will need a nap later today so I can stay up all night tonight.
Gathered the paperwork for the financial guy last night. Need to do a cash flow worksheet next. Maybe I can work on that while I am up tonight. Then DH and I need to fill out risk tolerance worksheets. Then I can turn all of this crap in and let him devise some plans/suggestions.
