Happy Mother's Day🌺
CELESTE the first thing I thought of about those bees was that the were the Africanized variety. Scary.
Very lovely visit with my neice amd her boyfriend overall, but one hiccup. I'll explain later. Went to the National memorial and museum in Oklahoma City (bombing at Murrah bldg) and it was incredibly moving and interesting. Definately left with a sense of "wow", what a time in our history. Cruised around some of the mansion district, omg impressive.

Happy Mother's Day to all moms(biological or not),those who still have moms.
I can't believe this long afterwards for some reason this year this day is really getting to me.I know I have fur children but for some reason that's not enough today.Going to church.
Celeste You do so well with your No S with no losing or gaining.I go off plan one day and I gain .8 for the week.I just don't get it.I'm not comparing myself to you but I don't get how I can go off plan one day and still gain almost a lb.

CONNIE corn is so good this year!! Enjoy. And KNOCK ON WOOD we haven't had mosquitoes YET b/c it's been so windy. I too think I slept better. With one (maybe 2?) potty breaks. And if YOU can tell me how much money you'll need at age 70, more power to ya. I turn 67 this year and I have NO IDEA! haha ANGIE. Nothing says MOTHER'S DAY like Diapers and kid baths. Well for sure nothing says MOTHER (or grandmother) like that. BECKY I think I can EASILY gain a pound in a day. However that pound is probably temporary. When I go on a cruise I can gain a pound a day and when i get home and eat reasonably it comes off easily. Heck I can gain and lose a pound SEVERAL times in a day depending on when I weigh myself. Good for you for going to church. I hope the kids there and the message brings you comfort. SUZE I can't remember if it was Tulsa or OK City, but when I drove thru there w/ Ryan on his way to college I remember thinking "I wouldn't mind living here." DANG IT my allergies had been so much better this past week but nooooooo. Today I'm coughing up a LUNG!! I'm marinating some chicken thighs. If Jannie comes at a meal time I'll grill them. Otherwise I'll grill them tonight and have them for meals for several days. Jannie's son wanted to come and visit so I have lots of them just in case.

Hi all. Quiet day here. My daughter and son are out of town, but will be back tomorrow. We are going out to dinner tomorrow night which is fine by me. Too crowded and crazy today. DH and I slept in and then he made breakfast for me. We went for a short ride and he is going to grill shrimp for us for dinner. It is cold and rainy here today. Only @48 or so.
Becky, I too understand how you feel. Hugs and smiles to you!
Okay, I'll check back later. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Joe grilled ribeyes and the corn on the cob was fantastic. Pasta salad and potato salad from the Kroger deli completed the meal. Joe got my mom a bouquet of roses and a card. I cleaned up mom's kitchen afterwards and we had a nice visit. Joe put the bed liner in dad's new truck. Both of my parents were quite thrilled that we brought the food, fixed it and then cleaned up.
Am fixing red skin mashed potatoes to go with crockpot pork chops for tonight's supper.

Connie I don't see how your mom is too old for knee surgery.Having said that both the orthopedist's I have gone to didn't recommend knee replacement until it interferes with quality of life.In her case it sounds like that may be the case.Who wants to wear a knee brace forever? After my first round of gel injections the 1st time I asked that idiot doctor about PT and he said it wouldn't help unless it was WA.Since your mom has a torn meniscus(?) I would think anything would help. The injections I got this year don't seem to be working as well as the series of shots that weren't Synvisc One.
Terry Good luck at the ortho.
Connie I hope you and Joe enjoyed visiting with your mom.Kenneth always thought of my mom as his after his mom passed away.
Suze I'm glad you enjoyed visiting with your niece.
Celeste I hadn't weighed since Wednesday and today was my WI day but I still don't understand how I can gain that much from 1 day off plan unless it's the IBS-C.Most of the kids were in children's church this morning but there was one girl who looked to be about 10 and her mom was singing in the choir.Anyway we always get up and shake hands with others and the girl was further up but it looked like she was looking for something to do so I waved at her & she waved back and smiled really big. They so want to be part of the church. The sermon was titled "The Gospel According to Mom."It sounded funny but it was the 7 principles the pastor's mom taught him about loving Jesus. My allergies are kicking up too and I just really don't feel well.
Thanks Suze and hugs right back to you.
Thanks JT and hugs to you.We were never able to have children and it just makes it harder on days like today and especially Thanksgiving and Christmas.Enjoy dinner tomorrow night.

Home... picked up Lu and stopped at a local roadside stand for fresh veggies. Now making a small batch of potato salad, made salads for two lunches, boiling eggs and relaxing. I need to plan/prepare a little better this week.
Totally enjoyed that little road trip. It reminded me that there is plenty to see within 3-4 hours that is very doable in a weekend.
Sis sent me a cute pic of her and her SIL at a Tiger's game. Dan Petry from 1984 winning Tiger's stopped by their suite and they were grinning ear to ear. Glad she was having a fun day.

JT, BOB knows how to cook ONE THING! He youtubed how to make scrambled eggs and he makes Curtis Stone's chive scrambled eggs and they are really quite good. So I got breakfast too!! I'll trade you weather. It's still in the 90's and humid. Luckily sustained winds of 17mph makes it bearable.
CONNIE it sounds like a really pleasant time w/ your parents!
BECKY you and I both know that we can go up and down by a couple of pounds in one day when we have our IBS issues one way or the other. So cut yourself some slack.
SUZE I really want to get my spit together and start doing weekend trips w/in TX. As you said there's a lot to do and see w/o flying somewhere. Places i want to see: Dime Box, Marfa, Mineral Springs, Granbury, Tyler, Fredricksburg and Gruene, Jefferson and the Bayou, Caddo Lake (the only natural lake in TX) etc. I am going to Austin over Memorial day and maybe we'll actually see some sights. I'd also like to spend some time in a cabin in the Broken Bow/Beaver's Bend area of OK. I'll be right over for the tater salad. I'll bring limas.
So my M/day was um...interesting. So Bob was supposed to go to his mom's and I could tell something was wrong but he was barely talking to me. Finally I got it out of him that his sister texted him: "Mother fell. We went to the ER. She's back at home but will be sleeping so don't bother coming over." NOT THAT he wanted to go over but it seems that she was taking all her myriad pain pills, sleeping pills etc, got up to the bathroom, fell and hit her head. Now Bob's sister is about 150 lbs overweight and never does ANY activity. She doesn't even clean house or mow the lawn. So she's more out of shape than I am (she's 61 or 2). The mother is about 80-100 lbs overweight. So Elizabeth can't pick her up. I think these calls to the EMT's are a regular event but since the mom was so out of it from the pills AND had a cut on her head, they couldn't be sure if the lethargy and slurred speech was from drugs or head injury. So off to the ER. Once she started sobering up they discharged her back home.
So understandably Bob was in a funk. Then my G/F came over and hit me with "RIchard missed 5 mortgage payments and they house is in pre-foreclosure, and I've asked for a divorce." OKAAAAAAAAAY then. THe divorce part was NO surprise but the foreclosure part was!
So all in all, maybe dealing w/ the social security agency isn't THAT BAD!
Oh the chicken thighs I marinated were FANTASTIC!! Jannie grilled them to perfection while I made salad and fruit salad. Man oh man, life is WEIRD isn't it?

Celeste When you go to Austin over Memorial Day y'all can meet us in Elgin & we can show you where Dime Box is. There is an Old Dime Box and the regular Dime Box also known as New Dime Box.Kenneth lived and went to school for a few years in Dime Box.
Only goals for week(starting tomorrow) 9000 steps Mon-Fri at least 30 min exercise 5 days a week
I hope everyone had a good day.My morning wasn't very good but I think I've picked up some.At least I didn't eat my emotions.
I cancelled WW subscription today so I'll be doing SP on ITrackBites. It's certainly much cheaper than WW.

BECKY glad you picked up some. I'm kind of taking your place in a funk. I swear family can be a burden. Sometimes I don't even like my own! This was one M/day I'm glad is over and in the books. I think I'll go away all by myself next year. Just leave all of it behind. CALGON TAKE ME AWAYYYYYYYYYY.
Off to get ready for bed. Hope y'all sleep well. I feel as if I may have trouble shutting my brain off. And I stew about stuff I can't fix so what's the point?
I did have some S. Half a brownie (only half so that's good). I had another chicken thigh as a snack. And I had seconds on salad and 3rds on whole grain bread w/ balsamic vinegar and basil olive oil.
I didn't even try to get in my 8K steps but did meet my 8,000/5 days per week b/c I reached goal 6/week.
Tomorrow back to No S. And I up my steps to 8.5K. Which makes me nervous b/c I really had trouble getting in the 8K and did lots of walking betwen 9 and 10PM when it cooled down. Oh well if I REALLY want to do it nothing will stop me, right? RIGHT!!
So all of you go to bed. Sleep well. Wake up refreshed and committed. That's my plan.

Gosh, CELESTE- your poor friend! She must feel like her whole world is collapsing. So wonder what her husband has been doing with the mortgage money? Gambling? Drugs? I mean, 5 months worth of payments would be a chunk of change!
I forgot my fitbit today. But that was the least of my issues this week. My week started with Joe's Birthday cake and spiraled down from there. I just shelved the diet for a week and ate whatever I wanted. Will get back to it this week. Got on the scale today and the number is bad, but was less than I expected.
I spent several hours yesterday and several more today gathering the info for the financial guy. DH just has a little bit to fill out and then I can drop everything off so he can start his analysis. I will sleep better if I have a plan or at least some idea of what we should do. And I'm sure he will raise issues we haven't even thought about. I was really dreading getting this stuff together, so am relieved it is done.
