Hey all. Temp isn't too bad here, but very humid. We've had some sun and some rain so far today. Looks like it's going to pour right now. Working on laundry. Had my hair cut and colored this morning and went to the grocery store. Been snacking on blueberries that I bought- very sweet...yum!
So I weighed myself sans brace today. I'm up 2 from where I was, but overall done 11.5 since January. Not too bad....hopefully I will get back on track and actually lose something in June. Did meet my goals for yesterday and doing well so far today. Walked for 20 minutes, have had 2 fruits and have had 70 oz of water so far. I will get all my F & V and my water. I will make goals today too.
Happy Birthday to Dale!!
Celeste, do you water your farmland or just rely on your small amounts of rain. I'm guessing you must water a lot. Too bad the heat is taking it's toll on your zucchini. They needs lots of water. Zucchini is one of the few veggies I eat. As you know I am a picky eater.
Okay, here the dryer buzzing. Check back later.

The heat is wearing me out today. Working inside now, but earlier it was both to get water ran and fetching tools and parts. I need a nap!
CELESTE its electric, its just that the steel tank is not wrapped like a regular tank, it sits in its own insulated cabinet. If I don't wear my orthotics with most shoes, especially walking and working out, the inside arch where the incision was doesn't have enough support and ends up sore. Maybe that will change. But shoes like Dansko, Vionic and Abeos have that good arch and overall support already, so I wouldn't necessarily need orthotics for them. And there were some nice looking Abeos on line that I'd wear to work. I love Vionics but have to watch them because they can be a little narrow in the toe box for my foot.
STEPH rest and relax! You've been going full speed for a while and I'm sure just need a couple days to veg and catch your breath.
ANGIE are you in Idaho or Iowa (or am I way off?) I get my I states mixed up. Anyway, a friend went to American Falls, IDaho to visit friends and said the country up there is beautiful. Breathtaking green and mountains. He doesn't realize how brown TX really is until you go north.

Saw the recipe on FB for philly steak stuffed peppers, then one for Italian sausage zucchini boats. Hmmm. Think I'll make Italian sausage stuffed peppers!

Ended up sleeping till 6pm. Don't know what woke me up, but when I saw the clock I panicked. Usually don't sleep past 5.
Quilt guild is having a workshop to make quilts of valor for veterans on Tuesday. I had planned on going, but will likely skip it in favor of getting my longarm working. DH thinks he has it fixed, but I haven't had a chance to try it out.
DH fished in a Musky tournament today. Didn't catch anything. I'm wondering how the other fishermen did. It's been so hot here that the water temps are up....not good for Musky fishing. Just hoping he enjoyed the day on the lake with his buddy, Sam.
Need to figure out what to take for my lunch tonight. I'm tempted to stop at Kroger on my way to work and buy more salad. Need to get gas anyway and can get it there.

I hope all the TX gals are hydrating today and staying out of the sun as much as possible. It hit 101 at Camp Mabry and 100 at the airport and our temps line up with the airport in Austin. It's beyond hot.
Kenneth forgot we still had 1 pork chop left which we had planned to eat tonight and split a potato and the first thing I know he is in the kitchen cooking chili beans.I said uh...what happened to the pork chop?He cooked on a night we didn't need anything.I'm not complaining that's for sure.So we will take a break from chili beans tomorrow night and finish the pork chop.

BECKY I've never SEEN so many dental offices as there are here in the Frisco/Plano/Little Elm area! And Bob got in on the Saturday before Easter AS A NEW PATIENT no less! Crazy. Lots of them are open on Saturday part of the day. Then they have the "dental cafes" where you get cappucino and they lend you an IPad. THey're all competing for business and go to great lengths. We went to a small strip mall just now so I could run in Kroger and as we came out Bob looked to the left and said OMG ANOTHER DENTIST, and then we looked to the RIGHT and in the same small strip mall... ANOTHER DENTIST. And my dentist is directly across the street. BECKY I'm totally bummed about the beans and I'm taking a "bean break" and I hope I can have them once in a while. I LOVE them. Chili, chili beans, pork n beans, I love all beans (except garbanzos) in any version. I was having them almost every day in normal portions. But they didn't seem to like me.
JT being down 11 from January is great. I'm feeling like I'm up. I haven't weighed myself in forever but I can tell by my clothes. I should get my crap together but right now I'm actually content w/ the way things are. Eventually something (seeing myself in a mirror or having my back hurt etc) will happen and I'll buckle down. That's just the way I roll!! LOL
HAHA SUZE big difference in Iowa (farm country) and Idaho, the great outdoors with mountains and rivers. But they do both start w/ an I and end w/ an A!!
CONNIE fingers crossed on your longarm! When does your new fridge come?
BECKY speaking of hydrating. Bob and I went out to dinner and I drank 4 glasses of water. Guzzled them down and didn't pee for quite a while. I need to up my liquids for a while here. I also need to stop EATING OUT! 3 meals in a row at restaurants (w/ cocktails at 2 dinners) is not great for weight.

Celeste When we have chili beans they only last 3-4 nights so I'm not eating them all the time nor would I want to.I love them but my body needs a rest in between.I don't think I have ever drank 4 glasses of water with a meal.I drink ice tea when we eat at home for lunch and dinner.I always get in 4-20 oz cups of water every day and sometimes 5.Today I have already gotten my 5th-20 oz cup in.If I were you I wouldn't drink them close to bedtime though.I have coffee before breakfast and I start drinking water after breakfast which is usually between 7:45-8:00.It keeps me hydrated plus it keeps me satisfied between meals until I get on my snacking kick after dinner.I have been thinking about doing Points Plus for a week to see if I can do any better on it.I haven't weighed since last Monday and that was just b/c I felt like I had lost a little since my last Sunday WI and I had.I don't get that same feeling for tomorrow's WI but as long as I don't gain too much I'll be okay with what the scale says.Of course if you happen to be awake early in the morning and you hear someone screaming it's me and I am throwing the scale away.
Kenneth couldn't believe he gained 1# in a month. He rarely weighs and doesn't need to lose and I was surprised he even weighed yesterday.I told him if I only gained 1# in a month I would be excited. He thinks and I'm wondering why too that as much as he's outside and sweating he hasn't lost a little.
I know I would gain 5# if I ate out 3 meals in a row.

LOL CELESTE- Iowa and Idaho both end in "a"? 😂😂😂
My fridge is supposed to be delivered Monday between 2:30 and 6:30. Actually, that's perfect because I can come home and sleep till about 1pm. And I will have to get up because of the delivery. Would really like to get most of my house cleaned on Monday. Plan to tryout the longarm Tuesday. If it isn't working, I may just sit upstairs and piece one of my own quilts. If it DOES work, I will try to finish the last 10% of the customer quilt I was working on when it broke. Then I will pin on the next one. I have designs I need to transfer to a USB stick for that one, then I should be able to knock it out fairly quickly, barring more machine issues.
That would get me in the ballpark of being caught up.
We are supposed to get some slightly cooler temps next week with lower humidity. May only reach the 70s a couple of days and then low 80s for a couple more. I say "bring it on!". The early heat and humidity are killing my electric bill! And speaking of bills....we got notice that our water bills are increasing 24%. Jeesh! For a company that nearly poisoned us all 2 years ago and still hasn't paid our settlement money, they sure are sticking it to us!

OMG CONNIE I read your thing and thought "THey don't end in A. A VOWEL." Then I went up and read what I posted. Maybe I was just trying to confuse SUZE? Funny but getting a new washer and dryer isn't exciting. A new fridge IS!! Though your old one isn't very old so it's not like the "next generation" type of thing. And haha if I were typing about the Longarm, I'd have said "if it DOESN'T work I'll sit there and scream!" I really get anxious when technology rebels! And OMG on the 70's. We aren't even in the 70s in the wee hours of the night. I'm very lucky in that my house is small AND super well insulated. My last bill for the month of May (and it was HOT ALL MONTH...2nd hottest May on record) was only $108 and that INCLUDES gas!! I guess older homes just aren't as well insulted. And they have higher ceilings etc. When my son moved into his 1897 house the FIRST thing he did was put in new windows. His next project will be new siding at which time he'll put insulation in the walls. Now, like you, I don't even want to look at my water bills! UGH. We can only water once a week except hand watering. We have tankless hot water heater. We have low flow everything. ANd still my water is higher than my electricity bill. BECKY I actually didn't eat beans every night but probably 3 or 4 nights a week plus once or twice at lunch when I had left overs. But I COULD easily have them every day b/c I like them that much. I never figured out if it were a particular TYPE of bean or just that I was having them so often. I feel like I can have them in more moderation. Maybe I'll make chili beans this week. I HAD THE WEIRDEST DREAMS. In it, I was someplace that had this ugly shag carpet and it had pinworms. Like worms from a dog! GROSS all in the shag. Then I met up w/ Bob who had been to Ellen DeGeneres' birthday party and he said she was really drunk and was dancing around topless and had humungous boobs and then she and Portia were having sex in the middle of the party and he was grossed out. I asked "well if they were heterosexual you wouldn't say it was gross would you?" ANd he said "In the middle of the party? YESSSSS!" OMG he's such a prude!! LOL For her birthday he bought them a VERY traditional kind of country style bedspread w/ stripes and small flowers. Yeah b/c nothing says "traditional/country" like Ellen and Portia. They put it on the bed for a minute and then slipped it off again. Hey I wonder why I didn't get invited to the b/day party and Bob did. hmmm ALso something about the end of the world coming.

Connie, I thought you were going to say that if the Longarm wasn't working, you were going to sit and cry. That's what I would be doing. Good luck with it and the delivery of the new fridge. Have fun quilting!
Celeste, you must be eating too many lima beans to cause your weird dreams! That's a nightmare!! Wow, I would love to have an electric bill like that. My average bill is @ $250 a month and water is @ $300 a quarter, so $100 a month. Nothing is cheap here. I will not be staying in CT when I retire. Can't afford to live here.
We are having a beautiful day today - @70, sunny and breezy. Pollen is extremely high though. Heavy rains and cool -60 for the next 2 days. It would be so nice if we could have some consistent weather. din Nothing exciting going on here today. DH is tired and having palpitations from his blood treatment on Friday, so we are kicking back and being lazy. We really need to get outside, but not happening today. Okay, need to go start dinner so I can do my nails after dinner.
Happy Monday in case I don't get back.

OMG that dream! I guess Bob is just a cool dude to have at parties. JT and CONNIE you lucky ducks with those beautiful temps! CONNIE exciting on the new fridge and GL that the longarm works. I hear you on the heating/cooling bills.
I've been working outside for the past 3 1/2 hours cleaning up the last 200' of fenceline and I'm whupped. I did the big clean/pruning on the west side a couple months ago and went back to clean up regrowth and pull out dead limbs/vines. Its tedious and hard work to say the least, and my arms are scrapped a bleeding. Looks like I've been in a cat fight. Cooling off for a few minutes. I'm not sure I'll make it out to work on the flowerbed, but once i got rolling i didn't want to stop until I was finished. The kicker is on 100' of the fence, my neighbor does not take care of her side at all. So I need to go over to her side and clean up too, so her crap doesn't grow back over my side like it was previously. But, not today.
I was too tired after the water heater install to make those peppers so I'll do that tonight. We just have to drain and pull the old heater out now, install some subfloor, trim.... never ends!😉

Celeste We live in a 20 plus yo mobile home that has about 1240 sq ft.We bought this one b/c it had double paned windows and that keeps some of the heat out but we also only have a window AC unit in the LR and our electric bill is a little over $100 in the summer. We are in a co-op so every May we get a deep discount. Our May bill was like $33.However we don't have regular gas.We have to buy propane and use it only in the winter plus the gas stove which is a lot of the reason we don't use our oven.We are lucky to have a well and the only payment is for the pump and that's included in the electric bill.
The chili beans turned out good but Kenneth forgot we still had one pork chop left when he cooked them so tonight we will split the last chop and split a baked potato so we will have a little room in the fridge. We have a very small fridge.
Celeste If you have many more of those weird dreams the end of the world might come.
JT I am so jealous of your spring but not of your winter or your bills.I don't blame you for not wanting to retire there. What kind of blood treatment did your DH have?
If my foot is still hurting tomorrow I may call my NP.I wore sandals(sturdy flip flop style)to church and by time we came home it was swollen just a little and hurting.I can't do a normal walk for exercise only the recumbent bike.Besides it's too darn hot to walk outside even after breakfast even if I could walk.I doubt seriously if I will even get in 9000 steps even doing 3 sessions on the bike. I've already done 2.Oh well at least I lost the 0.2 lb I gained last week so I'm still 4 lbs under the top of the WW goal.I remember on PP I was so strict with myself on what I would and wouldn't eat.Now on SP I think sometimes I eat more points for snacks than meals but at least they are semi-healthy plans. No sweets anyway. It's been so hot I have been craving ice cream but haven't given in to buying any yet.I will just keep the freezer stocked with Frosty Paws so I won't be too tempted.

Suze I don't know how you work out in that heat.I hope you are using sunscreen and drinking water.Even Scooter is in the house it's so hot here. Not as hot as yesterday but still hot.Since she is black and unless she stays under the porch she gets too hot too fast.
It is funny b/c Marcie is not one bit scared of Scooter so Marcie was laying over the back bar of my bike and Scooter tried to chase her off but she wouldn't run so Scooter barked at her.

JT at my previous house my bills in the summer approached $400 between cooling a 2 story house as well as having to run my pool equipment a minimum of 8 hours/day. If winters were particularly bad, then I'd have to run my pool filters and heater 24/7 to keep it from freezing. I'll NEVER own my own pool again. I've used the Amenity Center pools here in 3 years a LOT more than I used the pool in 10 years at my previous house. I'll let someone else heat, clean and maintain the pools. My monthly HOA fees are still less than I was paying just to CLEAN my pool every week. Often (except on weekends) I go to the pool and I'm one of a small handful of people. SOmetimes I'm there by myself.
But I have a feeling the costs of living in CT are MUCH higher apples to apples compared to TX.
And I almost burst into tears reading about your 70's. whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Sheeesh I hope DH gets to feeling better. Having in irregular heartbeat can sure drain a person. It even makes it difficult to stay asleep.
SUZE I'm not sure that I could SIT outside on my porch for 3 1/2 hours in this heat. I don't know how you do it. I'm not sure if you're amazing or a masochist. And I've always SAID LULU reminds me of YOU! You're both masochists (or amazing).
hmmmmmm BECKY I'm in an energy co-op too. I hate it b/c every year in Plano I'd go on Powertochoose.org and had access to probably 30 different companies and plans for electricity. YOu could get a really decent deal if you were willing to go w/ less well known companies. ANd since all the electricity comes from the same place (except for a co-op), all I was picking was a middle-man/billing company). THis co-op doesn't discount anything and it's EXPENSIVE per KW hour but I have no choice. IMHO competition breeds a better product. But I knew going in when I bought this place that it was a Co-op so it is what it is. When I count points, I too usually have as many or more on snacks. But doing the NO S I'm TRYING to change that behavior. As I said I'm sure I'm not losing b/c my bra and pants can be tight but I'm enjoying life more. AND STEP AWAY FROM THE FROSTY PAWS!!! hahaha I admit I did try it when I bought it for Petey. Kind of 'meh'.
My dryer is acting up. GRRRRRRRR and my vent outlet IS ON THE FREAKING ROOF!! WHo puts a dryer vent on the roof, esp in a 55+ community. Like how many of us are going up on the roof to clean it out? CRAZY I tell ya. THough not sure that's the issue. I'm religious about cleaning out my dryer vent after each use.
I'm roasting a chicken in the oven. I was going to do a beer can chicken in the BBQ grill but I decided not to ask Bob to mess around outside in this heat.
Oh and his mom is coming home on Tuesday and his sister has asked him to take off of work to talk w/ the hospice provider to get groundrules and procedures and ask any questions. They're takin-10her off her BP meds and basically just doing comfort care. It seems in some ways she's gone downhill fast but in other ways she's been going downhill for at LEAST 5-10 years. And though she's 83 she seriously looks 103. She's never taken care of herself and was always either drinking or taking too many pills, living on junk food and no exercise other than walking to the bathroom. That and being mean and nasty takes its toll. All i hope for her (and Bob and his sister) is comfort. I think as long as they don't feel she's suffering they'll be OK w/ this. UGH what a mess.
