I'm such a curious person that I always wonder who the 4 people are that viewed our thread. We always welcome anyone that would like to join us in crafting and, in fact, would love to meet new people but I guess some prefer just to read.
Worked on one of the gloves this morning, in fact the first of the pair I started yesterday. It's all single crochet and a large men's size so it takes forever. When I make this again I won't make the arm part so long. It's a lot longer than it needs to be. After completing the second glove of this pair I'm going to make an identical pair only with that change making the forearm part shorter and using half double crochets. Hdc's are faster and just, or almost, as warm as singles and I actually like the appearance of them better. Then at the top of the glove I make a couple rows of the hdc into the third loop to make a nice looking ridged edge.
I have a bunch of ohter things yet to do today so should get going on those
Have a great day everyone and a great week.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today
Ruth - I don't usually pay attention to how many views, but when I do look at them it does make you wonder how many people are just reading our posts
Ginny - I'm glad you had a good walk yesterday.
The crust for the Chicken Pot Pie was "O.K.", but nothing great. It was a bit chewy, not flaky like a real pot pie crust would be. I'm not sure I'd try that again. It seems like this dough works best with bagels and pizza crust, at least in my opinion.
Ruth - I love Ombre things, and that pink yarn sounds like it's really pretty. It will make a nice blanket. Sounds like you have lots of interesting projects going on.
My favorite yogurts are the Yoplait Greek 100 Whips and the regular Yoplait Greek 100. They do have sugar in them, so they are not that friendly for Freestyle, but they work for my plan. They are getting really difficult to find, since the latest push with yogurt is to have whole milk or zero artificial ingredients. I tried one of the zero artificials and hated it and I'm not taking the "hit" on points with whole milk yogurt.
It took me forever to get used the greek yogurts and now that I like them, they are hard to find. I hate the way yogurt in the grocery stores is constantly changing. There are a few regular yogurts I'll still eat - like the Dannon Light and Fit.
I did find several different flavors of yogurt when I went out today - went into 4 stores to find them, only 2 of the stores had any. So I'm set for about a month. Then I'll go out again on my scavenger hunt
It finally stopped raining here, but we had over 2 inches of rain yesterday. I enjoyed the cooler day and this morning it was still cloudy and cool - so nice for shopping. It's supposed to get warmer later and tomorrow when the sun comes back out.
Meg and Phyl - Hope you are both O.K.
Take care everyone!

CJ, I saw on the weather channel that your area had a lot of rain. I'm praying anohter prayer of thanks that your roof is on and you didn't have to worry about all the rain leaking into your house and potentially causing more damage, not to mention stress.
I don't think I've ever seen either one of those yogurts. I know I don't care for the whips yogurt. I think there's one in the fridge that dh picked up accidentally and that I need to throw away since no one will eat it. I don't care for regular yogurt at all anymore since I've gotten used to the Greek Yogurt. I've had some of the while milk ones and I recently had some Oui by yoplait and didn't care for those at all. The Oui cames in cute little glass jar but just has a peel off foil lid so someone has already started a business on ebay selling lids for them.Anyway the reason I don't like regular yogurt now is because of the gelatin that most of them have. I can sure tell it's there in a lot of them. I do like Noosa yogurt esp the strawberry rhubarb one but they have a LOT of calories so are very high points.I don't eat them often. They also have one that has Habenero peppers in it and is really good. They're expensive too so I only get them if they're on sale or reduced price due to being close to sell by date
Ok gotta stop procrastinating and get to work. See everyone later

Well I guess I will be the one who upsets the apple cart here, I dislike greek yogurt and much prefer dannon light and fit or even better yet Yoplait 100- vanilla or banana cream pie flavors. I have not had much trouble finding either, but confess that it seems as though there are so very many flavors of greek yogurt- I find it confusing. My kids eat greek yogurt so its in the house. I find the stuff inedible. Hey, at least I am honest!
I too wonder about the lurkers- of course anyone is welcome to join our happy little group here where we talk about life a lot, crafting quite a bit and weight watchers sometimes. The great thing about this group is that if one of us had a serious concern/question about staying on program we would all help out as much as we could- we just do not obsess over it.
No crafting for me today- however I am starting to think about what I will gravitate to when my life slows down in 3 weeks. For now, think those pillow cases will come out again. I am going on a road trip with my friend on saturday to my LQS- and of course we all know that counts!!!!
tomorrow is another busy day, then the rest of the week a normal work week. Regents are next week- which makes for a very busy time, but a great paycheck.
Have a great night all Ginny

Hello everyone, Another hot day here it is 98 today so of course the A/C is on. I haven't been anywhere since Saturday. I don't go out in the heat if I can help it. I went to Knit Wits on Friday and spent the afternoon weaving in ends on my b/blanket . I am now finishing up the border. I don't do great borders. So now I am thinking about a new project. We have an election tomorrow. I have already sent my ballot in so now I can forget about it.
I haven't tried a lot of the different yogurts. Presently I am eating the Greek lite & fit and it is ok, I have started drinking a bottle of boost every day as I need the protein and I don't eat properly. When I was in the hospital last year they suggested I drink ensure but I decided to try Boost and I like the chocolate one. I love the frozen soft serve yogurts but usually talk myself out of stopping to get one.
cj, I am so happy that you have your new roof and I hope you are happy with it. It will be nice not having to empty the buckets when it rains. Did you watch the Celtic singers on PBS last night? They were very good. I find that I am watching PBS more.
Ginny, when is your last day of school ? Devin gets out of school tomorrow so I am going to find him some chores to do. We will be going out to the coast for a few days later in the month. I love going to the coast so it will be something to look forward to and of course it will be cooler.
Ruth, I see you are keeping busy as usual. Strawberry Rhubarb yogurt , I think I would like to try that. I probably will not be able to find it here.
Hi, Phyl, hope all is well with you.
Dinner is ready so I have to go. Have a wonderful evening.

Meg it's so good to see you. Yes please stay out of the hot sun as much as you possibly can. I'm glad you were able o get out to go to knit wits. I know you enjoy that. The strawberry rhubarb yogurt is Noosa brand and comes in a flat container. Sometimes it can be hard to see in the dairy case. It's not a Greek Yogurt. It's really almost buttery in consistency so some people don't like it because of that. It's also, as I said, very high in calories. I'm praying prayers of thanks again tonight. I went out to drive down to the mailboxes and when I turned the key in the car absolutely nothing happened...not even a click. I just bought the battery one year ago and it's guaranteed for 40 months so I went on a receipt finding search and actually found it. I had bought this one last May and then in Sept bought one for my other vehicle. I didn't see the receipt for that one so hopefully it will show up in case that one has a problem sometime within the warranty time.So since I bought it at Menard's I may be going there if the battery doesn't charge...dh has it on the charger...and Ginny, I'll be thinking of your mother because I'll be buying spearmint leaves while I'm there. See you all tomorrow...didn't get much done on the gloves due to receipt searching... and you probably wonder why I don't have a place for those receipts... I do...and it was in that place but I didn't look there

Hello Crafter - Hope you are all doing well today Ruth - I saw that there was a Strawberry-Rhubarb yogurt out, I need to look for that. I've been looking in the store for rhubarb, but it might be too early for it. I definitely want to get it again this year. I'm sorry to hear about your car problems, hope you get them solved today. Ginny - I'm sure you're excited thinking about the Summer. I hope you find time to do everything you want to. The road trip to the LQS sounds like fun Meg - That is some hot weather you're having. You're smart to stay inside. Hope it cools off soon. I didn't watch PBS the other night but if you are talking about the Celtic Thunder group (men). I did see that special recently when they aired it. I have liked them for years and have several of their CDs and DVDs. It's a pleasure to listen to them. I like the men from the original group too and watch some of the videos of their older performances from time to time. Phyl - Hope you are feeling well and getting some quilting done. I'm relaxing today after all that shopping yesterday. It's sunny and around 80 here today. The lawn service came earlier and mowed my lawn, so it looks nice. All the rain this year has made it look like a jungle between cuttings. Take care everyone!

Hello to CJ and the others. CJ, yes I'd bet you are tired after all that shopping. Having to go to several stores is a lot of walking and getting in and out of the car, not to mention carrying the groceries inside. As for the strawberry rhubarb yogurt, I wish they put more of the fruit in it but it's good. It doesn't keep well so you can't stock up a lot because it starts to taste too much like eating butter. I do like butter but not in my yogurt.
The battery did charge and after it was charged enough dh saw that one of the interior lights was on. Not one that will turn off by closing the door but one that you have to slide a switch to turn it on. We never use lights because we don't go out after dark so it either got turned on accidentally or someone was messing around in our car. That's happened before but I don't think it was the case this time, I think it was accidentally turned on somehow. One of the doors won't lock though which would give anyone access but I don't know why they would want to be in there and nothing is missing. So even though it's a small light we figure it probably has been on for about 10 days. I bought the battery at Menard's and sent them an email last evening asking how I get it replaced in the event that I have to do so and they sent an answer right away telling me just bring it in. They don't sell that brand anymore but they'll replace it with an AC Delco battery that is comparable to what I have and I do have a top of the line battery with the highest CCA's available since it can get so cold here. So another prayer of thanks sent.I don't think I will have to take it to be replaced now but I have another two years on the warranty and also found out that this battery company provides free jumpstart service. Of course I didn't know that until dh found the tiny sticker on the battery yesterday that told about that service.I do have that service thru my auto insurance though too so I'd probably just use that.
I worked on my craft cave earlier. It got cluttered again as I was looking thru yarn. Now I can at least walk into the room once more.
I'm still trying to work out a system for keeping my yarn more organized and utilizing the space on my shelves better.I don't really want to spend a lot of money on bins. I wish there was a way to put dividers on the shelves. I guess I could be creative and use cardboard with holes punched in the tie the pieces of cardboard to the metal of the shelves. We have a lot of cardboard. I could spray the pieces with spray paint as we have a lot of that too.
Well I'll think about that.
Have a great day everyone!!

Hello everyone, It is a little cooler today about 85 and I don't have the A/c on. I opened the doors and windows and put the fans on so it is comfortable. This morning I had my eye injections and when I got home I took a nap. Last evening I finished the border on my b/blanket and Then I will give it a light wash along with another b/blanket that I finished recently. I may go out to dinner this evening depends on our friends. Devin finished school today but he went to an after school program this afternoon. I am deciding what I want to work on next. I should work on some small projects like caps and scarves for the homeless which I will donate next winter, That would be a good way to use up some of my yarn. My church is having a yard sale next weekend and I am bagging up stuff to donate. I have been through my closet and I am being ruthless and getting rid of clothes I haven't worn for years. I am going through my drawers and have lots of socks that I never wear so it is time for them to go.
Ruth, sorry you are going to have to replace your battery. I did that just recently when mine wouldn't hold a charge. Storing yarn is a challenge and I wish I had more room. My DGD has so much stuff stored in plastic containers in my garage also in cupboards she needs her own home.
cj, I listened to Celtic Thunder a few years ago but I had forgotten about them. I do enjoy their music which I am familiar with songs I grew up singing. I am going to watch PBS more as they do have some good programs and I can't find much that I like on the other networks.
Ginny & Phyl, I hope you are both well and not too busy.

Good evening!! Meg, glad you were able to stop in !!! Happy Summer to Devin- I hope he likes the programs he will be taking part in this summer and that they will keep him happy, busy and stimulated. Switching to smaller projects for the summer is a practical approach- gets rid of those partial skeins and means that you do not have large heavy projects to work on in the heat. Good way to keep crafting and stay productive. Congrats on being ruthless and really cleaning out your closet. Its going to a good cause, and will ultimately make your life easier.Finding what you do want to wear will be an easier task.
CJ- good to hear that your jungle got mowed and that you got so much shopping done. Now you can relax....and I will bet you are sleeping better now that the roof is repaired!!
Ruth, that is some saga about the battery....I used to have a folder for all kinds of stuff like that- but have sort of changed my ways. Yes I have a folder for car repairs, but something like that I would now keep in the glove compartment. Several insurance companies cover things like dead batteries- and the towing too!!! Sounds like you or DH accidently hit one of those light switches, perhaps in removing a package from the car. Glad the battery took a charge and seems normal. Hey, did you get those spearment leaves- probably not because you did not have to go to Menards to get a new battery. I cannot help much with storage of yarn. I used to be able to find large zip lock bags- think they would hold about4 or 5 normal skeins. They would be helpful as you can see through them and they would facilitate stacking. And be much cheaper than storage tubs.
I am saying many prayers of thanks and praise for this weather. Think its going into the low 50’s again- low humidity and the daytime highs are 65-70. PERFECT. Under the gazebo now, watching the birds feed at the end of the day. Also thankful that my irritable neighbor is inside and that the shrubs we put in 2 years ago are growing and hiding him and his deck more and more. Its a peaceful night here, which I am very thankful for.
My niece called today (I went to her wedding in October) to tell me she is pregnant! Baby is due in December....so its a matter of if I want to make an afghan (would make the same pattern I made for my DGD) or a quilt. Decisions, decisions....... the issue with the quilt becomes what quality of fabric to use. Dd (#2) thinks I ought to get the fabric at Joanns- the quilt would be much less expensive that way. Perhaps I will see if MSQ has a sale on baby fabrics. I love the fabrics at the LQS- but am not sure how much my niece would appreciate LQS fabrics- which can be very pricey.
Looking forward to sleeping tonight....which should be wonderful with this cooler weather. Ginny

Phyl, good to hear from you!! Sounds like you are keeping busy- a very good thing- which is keeping you from thinking too much. Also a very good thing.Yes, a lot of the yogurts have become slightly healthier glorified puddings- but I guess as long as they are portion controlled snacks or small meals then it is not all bad. I have tried chocolate yogurt, and personally find the stuff to be awful. Glad you are getting your housework done- organizing and straightening up a lot. How do our homes get to be so messy so easily?? Congrats to Hannah on her last day of school- yes some girls do love their dresses! My Dd#2 was one of them. Glad to hear that you are feeling good....I pray that all test results come out well and that you continue to feel good.
After chatting with Dd #2, we decided I would make the same afghan I just made for DGD#2. Its beautiful- looks more difficult than it is and much cheaper than a quilt.
Busy am getting housework done and things straightened out. Made an appointment to see the doctor tomorrow am, pretty sure I have a bladder infection. I had to go anyway to get my medication renewed anyway.....
Hope everyone has a good day Ginny

Ginny, I'm so sorry to hear you may have a bladder infection. They can be very painful. I think it's a great idea to make the same blanket you made for your dd. It truly is beautiful and, as you said, much less expensive, but looks as though you went to a great deal of work to make it.
Neighbor is having a new septic tank put in so the air "fragrance" here is not good at all.
Phyl, you are a very brave and courageous woman. I'd be pulling my hair out waiting all this time. All that cleaning helps pass the time I'm sure but itcan't be easy. And I'll be right over to get some of that rhubarb.CJ will be too so expect us soon...hahahaha
Yes many ppl have commented on the Noosa yogurt saying that it's more like a dessert. Well 4 oz of it has actually less calories than 4 oz of chocolate pudding and also less than that amount of ice cream and many other things those same people eat. It also has active yogurt cultures so is much healthier than either of those and many other desserts that are much less calorie and WW friendly. It has 4 different kinds of probiotics so is a good source of those. And even if a person were to consider it a dessert, it would sure be a good dessert choice.
Meg, I bet Devin is happy to be out of school for the summer. Does he get bored as the summer goes on? Did his mom get him signed up for programs to attend during the summer? I think you said she did. And yes. good idea to stay out of the hot sun. I'm glad it was cooler yesterday so that you were able to open windows and get some fresh air into the house. I bet that felt good.
And yes, some people probably read all the threads as they are curious and/or just to have something to occupy their time. If a person lives alone they probably have a great deal of time on their hands that they don't know what to do with and they may even be lonely, and reading things people have said about their own lives and activities makes them somehow closer to others. I used to read a lot of threads but now have filled that time with other activities and I rarely read another unless it's someone asking for prayer or an opinion on something.I do post on one thread on over 60's.
